People might not know that decentralization is what they need, but ever since the Snowden files, people started to realise that it might not be a good idea to hand over all your data to a single company and hope for the best. Most of the people I know now say  that there is no way they are going to upload anything sensitive/personal to Dropbox without encrypting it first. As far as I know, Dropbox/Google/Amazon/Apple clouds, they all have great uptime, but when it comes to security - just see the recent hacks. Dropbox also checks the md5-s of all files users upload against a database of known "copyright infringement" cases, and if your file is on the list, they might just delete it. And if you're the lucky one with an md5 collision , you can argue against the deletion, I guess.
