Timing an Ethereum based ERC20 ICO deposit:

Guys - I have been timed out of a few crowdsales due to people getting their ETH to arrive into smart contract way quicker.

I have used Metamask and upped the GAS etc as high as I can feasibly afford.

My question is this ...

If an ICO advertises that it opens at block X. What would be the strategy to jumping the gun on that? If I sent when the block showing on a live chain scanner reads x-1 or even x-2, would that have potential? Or would that just not work.

If anyone has any links on this topic Id be massively grateful.

NEO Wallet Support:

Guys - Im just wondering if I am doing this right ...

Signed up for the TheKey AND Zeppin.

I set up a wallet on Neotracker.io and subsequently downloaded the latest City of Zion v0.09 wallet.  I imported Keystore into that from Neotracker too.

Just wondering - If I particpate in ICO whether it be more old school or the newer NEP5 will I be ok to receive my tokens at one or both of these addresses.

Also, I heard V 0.09 is a little buggy. Is this true?

Lastly, I still believe it is possible to send NEO without GAS.  Will I need any holdings of GAs whatsoever to send NEO and participate in these ICOs.  Sorry to be a pain.  Many Thanks.

So waves is an exchange and also allows for ICOs to be performed somewhat like Ethereum.

... but What exactly is the Waves token used for?

Ok.  In a peerless bet who is responsible for setting of odds.  Would these be lifted from other "legal" sites or will Wagerr employ rafts and rafts of risk analysts, odds compilers and traders to set each market - remember each individual sporting event would have its own vast array of betting markets for each individual match.  Setting of these odds would also require some degree of local knowledge.  Idiosynchrasises such as "Team or injury news" also go a a large way in determing how odds are set.

Also, the dynamic odds situation is a tool that is used by all bookies.  It doesnt necessarily mean that the book isnt overly balanced on one side of a market. Sometimes the house just has to assume that risk.

do you mean "isn't overly unbalanced?"

There is no way to perfectly balance as you mentioned, it's about reducing the risk of overly unbalanced events so that the "house edge" is maintained, on average, over a long period of time.

Lines are initially pulled from existing sources, part of the data gathered by the Oracles. As more bets are placed one way due to "news" or whatever, the lines are adjusted to encourage more bets the other way. No knowledge is required.

The player sets or chooses their own lines with H2H and MU bets.

Thanks for the response.  I did indeed mean unbalanced.  I have invested some in this project.  I feel the market is potentially huge.  I guess time will tell just how many markets each event will have and indeed how many events will be covered.  Will inplay betting also be on offer or is that still very much further down the pipeline.

I have read the white paper and everthing is not clearly answered.  If the answer at this stage is unknown then that is fine but the white paper doesnt answer everything.

So, the actual process of betting on the Wagerr chain burns up tokens - like a small percentage right?  Are these replenished in any way?  Or will the amount of coins just diminish further and further as time goes on.

Also, will it act like an exchange whereby you have to have someone Backing and Laying a selection simultaneously or will Wagerr act as the house?

Lastly, is there any idea of which markets and which sports will be on offer?  Asian markets are huge and must be tapped into.  Football (Soccer) and Cricket amongst others.

I guess I could join a Slack or some such and ask such quesions unless someone knows the answer here.

Which languages are most used by developers?  I have heard that every day script also needs to be altered somewhat to write for Blockchain so ulitmately knowing Java/C++ doesnt necessarily mean you can jump straight in.

Can anyone explain to me how Lisk, Ethereum, Stratis and even UBIQ are massively different. Are they technically different, goals, useage
Are the other 3 solving any major problem that Ethereum has missed out on? I know they can all coexist in theory but once one has a decent market share it is likely to snaffle up the rest too, non?

No one knows what will happen in the future, I think both have a good future but I prefer ico sonm project for some reason, the main reason is being I just invested in sonm

Is ICO not in a few days .... you already invested?

What are the technical advantages a blockchain provides to a betting site that a non blockchain platform would not be afforded?

What are the technical advantages of a Blockchain - does it purely allow decentralised ledgers/database to be maintained?!

I'm trying to understand to which industries the theory of Blockchain has a competitive advantage?!

When researching development teams what are you looking out for?! most developers/coders seem quite impressive to me as someone who has literally zero handle on coding.

Are there any Superstar developers who have much greater influence in the general direction of Crypto?!

Anyone had any delays in the coins hitting the dashboard ... I transferred Ether a wee while ago and no sign yet.
