I've already shared my thoughts on the price pegging and agree with the 1:1 ratio. I also think it's something that has to be done for stability as Ared's post noted.

What I wanted to add is that most people keep talking about Arizona, Colorado, Washington, and now potentially Florida. The fact is, nearly half of the states already have medicinal laws in place, some a little looser than others, but the acceptance is growing fast. And this doesn't factor in anything international.

When you start thinking outside of a few states and then outside of a single country, you soon see that a 1:1 peg isn't out of the question at all and 420 million coins becomes quite rare in that big picture. CANN is young and breaking into an industry that has no nowhere to go but up, and we're all in for a helluva ride thanks to D9 and his team.

I initially thought 1CANN to 1GRAM might be thinking a little too big but then I recalled something I read about CANN standing on its own independent of Bitcoin. That may be a bit off into the future but I think that possibility is very real.

I would also agree with solid12345 and coinpirate. 1CANN to 1GRAM will be easiest for the actual consumers to remember and once you set it you're kinda stuck with it. If it was only used to buy CANNdy, then as the manufacturer you could easily manipulate the rate at will by adjusting the cost of the product being sold to merchants. The moment other goods are able to be purchased with CANN, the ability to change the rate becomes nearly impossible, especially as widespread use grows.

In terms of mining and profitability, I just don't see that as too much of an issue really. The mining difficulty will adjust according to the value of the coin, as we all have seen recently, and if you were getting 100CANN/day before you might only get 1CANN/day after.

In the end, I think you have to do what's best for the consumers. Both the markets and mining difficulty will adjust accordingly based on what you decide.

That's just my 0.02CANN  Grin

We are working on another wallet release.  Nothing major.

This release will change the symbol from 420 to CANN

http://i.imgur.com/F7ze4QH.png

Please let us know what you think.

This will be released possibly late this evening.  We want to make sure the wallet is testing fine.  Not a required update.

Can you maybe look into shifting the background of the console window (dark version) to the right if it's not too much hassle. It scrolls with commands and then you can't read the output without running them again so they fall between the images.

Except a nice name, what does that coin has to offer to us?

A coin that is true to it's name.  A team with help from contributors, devs, miners and supporters that can and will, make it what it needs to be.

No 15-minutes of fame needed, just an OPEN project for the greater good.

No one really cares about who launched first or last,  or who's winning the 'digital currency race'.  We are all out for the same thing.  What's that you ask?

The common bond is to help shape crypto into something that everyone can enjoy, share, experiment, invest, trust, and have the freedom to CHOOSE what they want to do with their miners, currency, time, life, etc.

PERSONAL:
What have I decided to do?  I've decided to be a part of it and take advantage of the freedoms that we have to put something like this out there.
Personally, I am a true believer of crypto and especially the cannabis industry.  I have seen what cannabis can do for those who are in need.  Yes, recreational use is an obvious given, but have you experienced first hand what it can do for pain and healing?  I have and it made me a believer.  It should actually be more in the media than cryptocurrency itself (I am entitled to my own opinions on that).

We are in the early stages of crypto in the world.  The general public needs to be spoon fed to understand and adopt it.  CannabisCoin will emphasize the NEED for de-centralized currency and the need to LEGALIZE CANNABIS.  Investors, Miners, Patients, and the Cannabis industry....  We all win.

Well said  Wink

We all could probably name 50 coins that have been released in the past few months with no real purpose or potential use other than to make the dev a few BTC. It doesn't matter whether there is one coin or a hundred based around an industry/color/country/whatever. If the coin has a real purpose, real world use and active devs supporting it then it deserves attention. I see a future in CannabisCoin even if it hasn't received a lot of attention yet.

If you don't like it then go somewhere else. That's you're right and it just means a larger stash for me  Grin

BTW, Just swapped out my old coins for shiny new ones and it went smoothly thanks to the GOOD devs.

I designed this release so it would not be dependent on what exchange it is listed on as long as it is listed.

It is more dependent on people believing a concept of easy startup funding. If just a handful of people would get behind it, I bet it would really takeoff.

We can mine with anything sha, scrypt, X11 and it would make a difference. CPS is more about holding then it is about daily cashouts. Once the price starts climbing more and more people will get into it. The more long term holders the more extreme the daily jumps will be.

I will remake the pool and use whatever hashing you guys would like to see, But I need to hear form at least 10 people willing to give this a try.

I would say rebuild the pool with x11 or x13 or maybe both. To some extent it is about daily cashouts but that doesn't necessarily mean dumping every coin every day. I run my rigs like I run my business. They need to turn a profit to pay for their power use every day and anything they mine over that is for holding, staking, reinvesting or whatever. When the bill comes every month I can't pay it with my beliefs and a smile.

I really don't care to discuss my holdings but I'll make an exception here and say for the record, I'm sitting on 490K CPS and I haven't dumped one yet. I don't think about it in terms of "beliefs" but more as an investment. The idea was interesting with future potential so I invested some power and time in it. That statement still holds true but I think it will require more than a multipool to realize its full potential.

As a start we have thinking about listing it in real exchange that the people could see it... I mean Bittrex ot Poloniex

Agreed. It definitely needs to be on a bigger exchange if it's going to get more attention.

I would have put some hash on the multipool if it wasn't scrypt. It's not cold enough to justify the extra heat nor profitable enough to justify the extra power.

Would still be nice to see it succeed among the herd of coins, especially with the large stash in my wallet  Grin

Where can i get the diamond kernel miner?  sph-sgminer doesn't seem to have it and groestl doesn't seem to work :/

Try updating your sph-sgminer. I had a slightly out of date version but was still mining DMD on it.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=475795

I downloaded that again, but it doesn't have the "diamond" kernel in it Sad

When it solves a block, I'm finding this in my wallet debug.log

Code:
05/30/14 21:16:15 ThreadRPCServer method=submitblock
05/30/14 21:16:15 pindexBest = 411073pindexBest = 411073ERROR: CheckBlock() : hashMerkleRoot mismatch
05/30/14 21:16:15 ERROR: ProcessBlock() : CheckBlock FAILED

When you run sph-sgminer you need to specify the kernel as "groestlcoin". That should work unless something has changed with the coin since I last mined it a couple weeks back.

Waiting for wallet to sync up now so I can confirm it for you...

EDIT: Still works. Just picked off another solo block  Grin

Yes I can solo that way, but pool mining doesn't seem to work at all.  In previous posts, there are reports of a "diamond" kernel fixing things.   I believe this is the source, just need a windows binary :/   https://github.com/danbi/sph-sgminer

You are correct. I didn't realize you were trying to mine in a pool. I went solo for about two weeks straight and that worked out well but it's no longer profitable for me with the current difficulty and market price.

I just solved another block that was 1.001 DMD. Is this normal to have received tow of this size now?

Transaction fee?

That would be my guess. I solved one for 1.001DMD and another for 1.003DMD so far.

Cool. So the question remains unanswered about when they start accumulating interest. Or is that not true....I don't know,.

Well according to the OP it won't start until they're aged 30 days, if I read it correctly. I'm now just into my second straight week of solo mining so I still have a couple weeks before I'll see anything from PoS.

can we have a vote for coins that made the list which we DONT want to help? some real crap on there and seems silly to offer help to them all whn there are much better coins out there. Coins like 66coin and duckduckcoin are just jokes and the idea that resources will be offered and then poured into them if they accept before other much more deserving coins (like datacoin) is not good management imho  Undecided

I think we should just get people proposing coins here and we try to see how we can help. From there we can see how it develops.

I think that's a better idea than trying to taking over another Dev's coin, even if it appears dead. You may still get the coin in the end but I can think of a few that seem to just need some help and not necessarily a hostile take over.

I browsed through my wallets and loaded up a few to see where they stand. Good, bad or otherwise here's a few that I have sitting idle waiting on help...

OneMillionCoin
Original thread : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=558262.0
Attempted Takeover Thread : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=572515.0
Status : Last block shows as yesterday (05/07) but wallet now shows out of sync with three active connections. Dev was actively seeking help from the community in takeover thread.

8Coin
Relaunch Thread : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=506301.0
Status : Never knew of the original one but I picked up on the relaunch. Interesting concept similar to 42. Wallet syncs up and everything seems to work but it appears to just lack attention/marketing.

BitGold
Original Thread : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=524648.0
Status : Wallet no longer syncs up and those interested seem to have pulled their miners. Has a pool still mining to support the blockchain so apparently it's a Windows wallet issue only. Dev apparently didn't get the initial support needed to really give this coin a chance but there still seems to be a loyal following that think it has potential.

Those are just a few I have sitting here that look like they could use some help and maybe have potential. For the record, I have no large stash of any one of these but saw some potential so I pointed my miner at them for a while.

shell cps    10000cps=0.04btc    i have 10000000cps

Can you please post a picture of your wallet balance?  10million is a lot, that's like 1/4 of the total coins.

I taught about this too... My balance is only about 50000 CPS, and I've been mining it since the start of it...
If you have secret tool to mine with higher speed , pleace share it with us Smiley

I think he might have just put in one too many zeroes. He might have 1M but I highly doubt it's 10M. I got in right at the start and managed to pull in 490K solo mining the early low diff.

May part with some of my stash if anyone wants it. Just PM offers.

I am posting so much because its lucky. most of the time right aftger i post i mine a block. J/K ! fallacy... we all have the same luck in the end.

But I did solve one after my last post... I'm up to 18 DMD.

How is everyone else solomining doing?

Could be worse I guess  Grin

Have 16 since I started Friday night, less a few hours dedicated to a couple other launches. Last night was a good night though with a stretch that produced a block every hour or so until I hit the wall just before midnight. The next one didn't come for almost 9 hours. Those are the real downers  Angry

I probably would have given this up long ago but the low power usage and potential profitability keep me on it for now. Hoping the devs get everything worked out so it's kind of a crap shoot but what isn't?

Maintenance affecting the frontend has been completed.

@Klarisskin It helps to know that mining is entirely separate from what is displayed on the site. What you see on the site are all just calculations that are cached and occasionally updated from the database. A lack of data on the site being refreshed has no bearing on mining Smiley

Any word on what's up with the remaining AC showing as unconfirmed. It's been there all day so I don't know that it's a cache issue.
