If you're using GuiMiner load "New other miner", you should have two folders there. UfaSoft and Puddinpop. Open the puddinpop folder and select "rpcminer-cpu.exe".

From there just set up your Deepbit user and pass info and you're good to go.

I'm getting Error 80190191 too but only on 1 out of my 3 machines.

2 of them are dedicated CPU miners, the desktop worker is running fine but the server worker refuses to connect with any worker account. I have even deleted and recreated the account on DeepBit as well as created an entirely new worker account and I still get the Error 80190191.

My 3rd machine is a GPU miner but I switched it to my CPU using the same worker account the server is and it connects fine. Doesn't seem to be an account problem since I can use the account on other machines without a problem.

That wallet is always going to be actively mining 24x7, it's a dedicated machine so backing it up would be a little above and beyond redundancy. That's why I'm going to just transfer the balance from the mining machine(s) to the BTC address that will be on the live disc since it's (more) secure.

So, a more linear solution would be to just use a livedisc or USB drive with another BitCoin install and transfer my Bitcoins to that offline wallet and then start the miners back up on the dedicated machines. That about right?

Been digging through the forums and the wiki but havent' been able to find any specific answer on the subject.

I'm running a couple of bitcoin miners, one is a dedicated server. The hard drive on the server is encrypted, and as well I make offline backups of my wallet (again, encrypted). The question I have is say someone hacks into my server and steals my wallet, however I have a backup that I made a day or two before the wallet was stolen.


What happens if I restore my wallet file even though the more current wallet file has been stolen? Will I retain the balance I had at the time of the back up or will the newer file supercede the odler file due to the newer block or hash signatures?

I know the mathematical breakdown doesn't add up (ha) but I was going for more of the asthetic of the naming convention. I was trying to avoid the 8 sub decimal naming schemes that keeps cropping up. Interesting and well thought out as they may be, but for the mainstream to get on board I would think that we need to keep it with a "dollars & cents" mindset.

It will make the assimilation....errr...I mean..."migration" process, of the average users a bit easier if it's in a format they can already identify with. Therefore, Bits and Bytes.

0.01 per week with 1 dedicated server pooling @ Deepbit, got a second workstation that mines when idle. The server is old hardware, just one I had sitting around so it's only mining from the dual CPU's (3ghz combined). the other workstation isn't even worht mentioning in terms of hardware.

I was kinda stunned to see my GFX card wasn't supported for GPU mining, Geforce GTS250 w/ 1gig of DDR3.

Since it's a digital currency my mind warps right back to the original Tron (I'm such a geek) where everything was "bits" and "bytes", therefore everything that is a sub-BitCoin is a Byte or ByteCoin.

Still like the Greek sub-decimal layout though.

Running two mining machines connected to DeepBit as well as generating coins, both 24x7. One is a dedicated server the other an idle workstation. I'm also a career IT pro and have advanced knowledge of the bitcoin network and functionality, bottom line I can help provide assistance to the n00bz.

I need to get more active in the forums for informational purposes but also for warnings and alerts on the security front.

I can understand "why" this is done, but seriously. Give me a pass on the newbie BS. I'm a 34 yr old career IT pro who was building message boards when most of you were surfing AOL (no offense, I used it too).

I think I've earned my medals, scars and what not without having to be subject to a "grace period". lol
