I've left negative trust to live627.
OP, would you be willing to grant me temporal access to your account to verify the PM? Or you can report it and ask a mod to confirm it's legit.
I reported the PM to administrator, i can give you access if all you will do is look for his PM's only.

What happened::
Send me a PM for the bitcoins i wanted to sell for western union, then linked me to a fake bitcointalk website with a trusted escrow address changed.

Scammers Profile Link:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=57332

Payment Method:
Western union

Proof of Payment:
None

PM/Chat Logs:

Here are the images of chat:

The link leads to bitcointlak [DOT] org which is obviously fake.

Hello ladies and gentlemen, i would like to sell my bitcoins.

I won't argue about your exchange rate as long it is fair.

My best choice is western union.

My other option is wire transfer to my bank (Egyptian bank)

Also i insist on using escrow.

Another option, if you have Linux/Cygwin/(probably)OSX, you can search through all of the extensionless files recovered by Photorec and use the `file` command to determine the type. Wallet files appear as "Berkeley DB (Btree, version 9, little-endian)", and so you should be able to find it relatively easily by running something like `file ** | grep "Berkeley DB"` (if you have globstar enabled, though there are many other ways of recursively searching every file within a specified location). You can use this technique for other file types as well, though anything plaintext will simply show up as "ASCII text" so it'll only help for binary file types with a specific identifier such as PNG (though presumably Photorec handles much of this, given the name).

Yeah actually that's a very good idea.

And you can simply do (without globstar)
Code:
find ./ -type f -exec file {} \; | grep "Berkeley DB"
(And replace ./ with the directory path)

I'm getting this error back:

find: missing argument to '-exec'  I guess something's missing from the line?

If you copy pasted it properly shouldn't have any problems..

Sold him 0.20BTC via WU. it went smooth.

The conversation that took time between talking to him and him sending the money was less than the time it took me to dress up and go to the nearest WU branch and collecting the money.

Super fast and trustworthy.

I suggest you do everything you can, except mining.

1st priority is for the ATMs.
And maybe issue cards/vouchers that can could like (fiat) credit/gift card that holds certain claimable BTC amount, so it could be used for transactions without making people to wait for confirmations and stuff, and without exposing the whole wallet.

But you should also consider:
-Buying a collection of bunch of different old/new cryptocurrencies and incase one of them was used beside BTC (Like silver to gold) You still get a foothold in that. Or maybe mining them since the difficulty is way low.

Geez ForgottenPassword that's a horror story, how come he was never tracked down?

And on /topic: Bob didn't borrow. So what everybody is saying is pure speculation no-one knows his true angle.

He was tracked down and is in jail now. He's battling it out in court with the SEC. It doesn't look like anyone will be reimbursed, almost all of the funds are gone.

That story was to point out the fact that someone can appear legit and have REALLY good (the best in the bitcoin community) trust/feedback and still be a scammer.

Lesson is well learned, and that doesn't apply only to the bitcoin community.

@ForgottenPassword Bob doesn't just do stuff with Steam, he sells all sorts of stuff, and gives away bitcoin a lot of times. He's the one thing on this forum that 100% is NOT a scam

I know he doesn't just give steam codes, thats what makes me REALLY suspicious. He claims he's buying all the gift cards for cash and giving them away cheaper. Sure he gives away Bitcoin too. He's probably not scamming at all, but the gift cards are probably stolen (purchased with stolen credit card) and he's just giving them away for cheap/free. Go to the freebie section of any carding forum and you'll find tons of rich carders doing the exact same for the lulz, it usually doesn't end up good for the buyers in the end.

I really don't get that vibe off of Bob, I've known him since he was a newbie. I wholeheartedly believe that Bob is just someone who's "paying it forward".

If you don't want to take him up on this offer that's fine, thank you for educating others about the "risk", if you've dealt with Bob before though you wouldn't of posted this in the first place.
Bob should support Sean's Outpost and projects like it, not giving free games/music etc..

OFC it's his money and he can do whatever the hell he wants with it, but just my two cents.
