how to buy bitcoin in india on which price i should buy
As others have already mentioned the ways to buy bitcoin, you can go ahead with any of them but I would advice you to do a proper research and understand the market conditions before investing any amount in it.
Also, there might be many phishing sites as well so make sure that you are using a genuine source to buy bitcoins.

Re: Shocking - With a law, India plans lasting ban on cryptos
by

on 18/06/2020, 07:50:53 UTC
An article from Economic time on 12 June 2020 says,

Quote
India is looking to introduce a law to ban cryptocurrencies, as the government sees a legal framework as being more effective than a circular from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in this regard. “A note has been moved (by the finance ministry) for inter-ministerial consultations,” a senior government official told ET.

Quote
A high-level government panel, in July 2019, prepared a draft law providing for a ban on all forms of private cryptocurrencies. It had suggested a fine of up to Rs 25 crore and imprisonment of up to 10 years for anyone dealing in them.

Don't know how to react! This is bad and sad! India is already struggling with freedom of speech under Modi government and now it seems to include financial freedom!

Ref: https://m.economictimes.com/news/economy/policy/with-a-law-india-plans-lasting-ban-on-cryptos/articleshow/76330403.cms
It took 3 years for the RBI case to come to a conclusion and receive a judgement from the Supreme court.
Now since they have proposed a ban and have drafted a bill, I am sure that it will take a few years before another judgement is announced. So I guess it would be a bad idea to worry about it from now itself since India is already suffering from so many issues. Banning crypto while the financial condition and economy is already weak would seem like a bad idea.

Have they mentioned in what way will they pay the rewards because I was not able to see it.
They do have mentioned that the rewards will be $20-$200 but in terms of what ?
BTC or Vsys or something else ?

Re: Crypto ATM in India. Would it be worth it ?
by

I would suggest you to check the stats of previous ATM which was removed by police. I am too interested to withdraw cash from Crypto ATM, but this will take more time and RBI should make it legal.

What is the exchange rate with this Bitcoin ATM and do we get same rate as on exchanges?

I do not think in coming 1-2 years the country could have the ATM because the percentage of population using is not much. Also if government encourages it and make the digital payment including crypto as an option as well will get a boost and in coming time then we can expect to have more of the ATM machine which would be more useful in various cities.
The current crypto situation in India is becoming better these days since the court has lifted up the ban on cryptocurrencies.
Also people are learning more about crypto these days due to lockdown.
I think, if there would be a global ATM/Kiosk for cryptocurrencies where anybody with a crypto card could just swipe and encash the money then there will be many people using this facility because not everybody would like to undergo the hassle of exchanging and converting online then encashing it.

I have a local seller friend in Northern India who deposits the money in my bank account directly and so never had the need to go through all the hassle of exchanging to fiat thing. It's been long now and hence the trust has build up between us and also it never worried me with the banks since the transactions are happening from the same account and so the banks will also won't doubt on these transactions.  Grin Grin

To be honest, we should never actually believe in the data exchanges provide.
Many times the volume provided by exchanges are fake. After what Coinmarketcap did with the fake volume I have stopped trusting any of the sites and exchanges regarding volumes and marketcap and rather believe on my intuition on the trading aspect.

From what I have learnt about bitcoin I can say that deriving a private key from a public key is not possible.
The public key of is derived from a private key but that functionality is not backward compatible according to what I have learnt.
So deriving the private key from public key is not feasible in my opinion.

The white paper of bitcoin had already mentioned about the halving and how it will take place every 4 years and decrease the block reward by half of the current block reward. It's definitely not just a theory. I think you should read the bitcoin white paper once.
It has great knowledge about bitcoin and it's technical functionality on the blockchain.

We can already see a change in the price of bitcoin. Earlier the price of bitcoin dumped  to $5k due to the pandemic but since then bitcoin has recovered quite a little. The price has crossed $7k which is a significant growth right before the halving even.
I do believe that the price will increase a little more before the halving occurs and probably cross $9k.

Always avoid overtrading

This is something that I didn't had control on. When I started trading, I used to keep on checking the prices to see if I had made any profits. Whenever the price used to go low I would panic and start selling which eventually resulted in loss in most of my trades. This is why I left trading.

Re: If we have great ability, is capital from bank loans safe for us to use trade?

In my opinion, we should never take any kind of loans to do buy something we can't afford.
We have to plan out well and think of every possible risk before actually doing it.
What if your friend takes the loan but suddenly the market crashes and he loses half of the investment.
It will turn out to be a nightmare for him.
Instead he can take out the smaller profits, save it and then use it again in future as a bigger amount to get a bigger profit.

Re: How to Buy Bitcoins in India without Getting Scammed

Wazirx is good exchange for Indians to get involved with crypto.
Wazirx has announced that it has brought back the INR deposits in the below article.

https://medium.com/wazirx/crypto-wins-inr-deposits-back-on-wazirx-ebd3e02fb968

So a much easier option would be to directly deposit INR into Wazirx and buy crypto with it.

It's really a good news for the crypto community. Yes I say "crypto community" as a whole because India is a densly populated country and has been in the fight for a long time. The fact that it has been delaying the verdict has been bothering many including myself but now since the judgement is very clear I hope the media and the masses will not criticize cryptocurrencies and will further encourage the use of crypto and the blockchain technology in India. I hope other countries will get inspired from India and start accepting crypto too.

I was searching for information regarding ETH PoS since I wanted to know when its going to start and the rewards for the same.
I came across this site https://ethpos.org and wondered whether the PoS is already started or not . I read somewhere that its going to start in Jan 2020.
Could someone confirm the same?
Also, can someone post the official source from where I can find more information on rewards for ETH PoS

Lets assume this tweet is true - https://twitter.com/Nikunj_Ohri/status/1136823903605723137

"India has proposed a jail term of one to ten years for those who mine, hold or sell cryptocurrencies."

What if this become law? How do you plan for your next course of action (and suggest others)?

p.s. Any attempt to divert the discussion with "I believe this will not become law" etc. will be outright deleted.

Well, we do have other options here. For instance, if I were in this situation then I would still continue using crypto as if nothing had happened.
The problem only arises on buying/selling crypto for fiat. I would stop using the Indian currency and would trade with whatever I have left.
May be at some point in future the government of India will accept cryptocurrencies, I would patiently wait until then.
If required we can also use other currencies for withdrawal such as using USD and getting the amount in paypal.
Also, peer to peer exchanges such as WazirX can be used since it is very hard for the government to judge the amount that it coming from such sources.
If we are in contact with local sellers then we can make the deal in cash too but it's quite risky this way.

Re: List of P2P Exchange in India
by

@ankit11 aka ankit10 i did not have a clue about Wazirx founder and it is publicly available, they have a shitty customer support and with the current situation regarding bitcoin in India, are they registered in India, i really do not think so and i am not sure how they are running their business in India other than the P2P aspect of transaction, either the owner have close ties to the government to run the exchange when all the prominent exchange had to close down and went down the drains because of RBI circular, so which part is true in this aspect.
I contacted Wazirx in telegram sometime back and they never responded but i got a bunch of strangers messaging me about solving the issuee and someone contacted me telling me they are Wazirx support team and asked me to send 1 ETH in an account to verify that i am having issues since i did have an issue with the ETH i deposited, since i am not a fool, i knew what those fuckers are trying to do and hence i played well with those strangers and when they understood that i understood their shit, they just left the scene. The situation was resolved after that, but that does not mean that they have a good support team.

Yes you are right. WazirX is not registered in India but it is registered outside of India which means it is an International exchange providing a major support to India.
I have been using WazirX since a long time without any hassles. After Zebpay was liquidated, WazirX became the most widely used crypto exchange in India.

Looks like the Endorsement Rate is now showing 2.23 / block on https://explore.veriblock.org/network-stats

It could have been a bug, or perhaps it was a result of a lagging moving average calculation. I wasn't able to find any source code for their explorer at https://github.com/VeriBlock so it's not clear how exactly they are calculating that endorsements figure they display.
The endorsement rate has further gone up to 8.37 / block as of current time.

What is bugging me is that the Longest recent block time was 1.7 min a few minutes ago and now when I reloaded the page it became 4.0 min.
I think there is a bug on this site.

Spam attack on bitcoin blockchain increases blocksize to 3MB
by
0zero0
on 17/07/2019, 14:15:15 UTC
I just found this article on Cointlegraph which said that on July 14 a spam attack was carried on the bitcoin blockchain.
This spam attack turned the bitcoin blocksize from 1MB to 3MB through invalid transactions.
I knew that spam attacks have previously been performed on the bitcoin blockchain but I never knew it could increase/decrease the blocksize.
Anyway, since the transactions were invalid and probably got kicked out of the blockchain, it didn't create any impact on the price.
