Re: Dual 8pin pcie cable

Are you using it for mining?
If it's a modular PSU you need the right cables, some of them are not "standart". Sometimes from one brand fit to another brand but not always.
You won't blow your card off but you can damage both the card and PSU if you use only one channel to power the cards. That means that if you use only one group of cables and buy some extenders to connect the other cards, the power provided trough that channel (group of cables) might not be enough for that power consumption you have. If you cannot find the right cables ( I assume that the PSU is Modular) then you can trick the system and use MOLEX or SATA adapters like those:

MOLEXhttps://cdn-reichelt.de/bilder/web/xxl_ws/E201/DELOCK_83703_01.png

SATAhttps://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0114/5339/9097/products/HTB1t2k4SXXXXXX6aXXXq6xXFXXXx.jpg?v=1575536580

Always use 2-to-1 adapters (those type from the pictures above)  to be sure that you have enough power and never use the same channel to power two cards.

At the end you have left with 700 - 375 = 325W which, depending of the processor type, most likely should be enough to power the rest of the components you have.

Sadly the psu isn't fully modular, you don't recommend using 6pin to 2x8pin adapter to power a 1660(90watts) and a 1660s (80watts)

Yes, it is universal. Of course, a single cable if is correct cannot cause an explosion. Your seller obviously joking with you.
the only thing you need to pay attention to is the quality of the cable. Low quality can bring some problems on load.

Pinouts on different PSUs are not same, so seller might have a point. Even within one brads pinouts might differ from model to model.
I will get from him a 6pin to 2x8pin connector, I'll use it to power up the 1660 and 1660s (max 180 watts for both gpus) hopefully if it works safely, if it dose so I'll mine with it until I can afford a better fully modular psu possibly evga, corsair 1000

Dual 8pin pcie cable

Hi all, I just bought a 1060 and a 1660s added them to my 1660 now I have 3gpus they all require 8pin cables the problem is my psu (game max 700 watts) has only 2 8pin connectors for the pice and 2 6pin connectors.
I've found a 8pin to dual 8pin cable locally, but they told me they can't sell it to me because the cable manufacturer and my psu manufacturer aren't the same they said it could blow up my psu or my gpu? Is that correct do I need a cable from evga and a psu from evga? For example.
Isn't the 8pin pcie connector a standard?

Thanks

Are you talking about the same bee 🐝 project that people are mining through the app dashboard everyday?? Look the image down below, is this what you talking about?

If Yes the project is absolute nonsense, what I'm surprised about is who people get so hooked to this project as if they are going to make huge money mining it everyday, the project has no reasonable use case to begin with lol
Yep it looks like a pyramid scheme.. if there's no product to be sold then you are the product

I've seen a lot of people promoting this nonsense (game/app) it's supposed to give you "free crypto" by just logging in everyday "like money grows on the trees" from what I have see it looks like a pyramid scheme and we know who always wins in pyramid schemes people who sit on the top of the chain not us peasants..

just checked for you. Best algo for you is etc. looks like it gives 17.5mhs on eth based algorithms. 17.5mhs on etc right now giving 0.74$. nicehash does not support etc you will need wallet and and pool for etc. with 28 sols on zhash you are making 0.70$. so there is no point to switch.
thanks yeah I will give up mining on my gpu may wait for 3060 then mine with it raven
Don't bother buying the RTX3060 because Nvidia have locked it's mining potential, it's a waste of money buying that card for mining, better buy RTX3060Ti, RTX3070, or higher, you can also consider AMD RX5700XT this card rocks, high hashrate at low power consumption
thanks i'll try to find a 5700xt or an rx 580 8gb at reasonable prices if not i'll keep mining with my gpu till it pays itself off it's going for 50 to 60 bucks rn electricity is 3cents where i live so power consumption is not an issue for me

The gtx970 got some speed but the let down will be it's memory which is 4gb I believe so the best option here is to mine profitable coins that still allows 4gb memory, for example you will make good gains from conflux (octopus algorithm) and also bitube (cuckaroo29b), spend your time on these two algorithm instead
when I tried octopus with TRex using nice hash it gave me "error during benchmark" currently I'm mining ZHash with gminer using nice hash and I'm getting 0.00001 btc a day it's at 26sol/s such a bummer considering my gpu is almost as powerful as an rx 570 4gb

i never had gtx970 but i heard it has only 3.5g memory which is not enough for eth even zombie mode will not help. current eth dag is more 4g.
Try beam and etc, if it is low then zhash only coin left for that card right moment.
it has 3.5 older gen memory and 0.5 newer gen at the time, so it's technically 4gb

Hello everyone, I'm new here and new to mining so pls excuse my newbieness
I have a gtx 970 and I'm wondering what coin to mine people say I still can mine eth but I have to get hivenos is that true and will it work?
If not what coin should I mine?
Currently I'm mining with nicehash on zhash and I'm getting around 28 sol/s is that good for my gpu?
Thanks
