Seriously no help at all? Huh

Can someone at least point me in the direction on how to resolve this? I recommend Amory to all of my clients because it is secure but not much use if we cannot get it to sync!

Is their any other software that offers offline wallets that works?

unable to build database - bitcoin core disconnects
by

I know a lot of people are having this problem and I really wish I never moved Armory from my old laptop when it was working but I had to at the time.

Now I have attempted to setup fresh installs of Armory on my old laptop (i5, 16GB RAM, 240GB SSD) this did use to work well with armory but now i am stuck at the inital buliding databases, it gets to different points and loses connection with bitcoin core, lots of messages with disconnect and reconnect.

I hae left it at building databases for 4 days and still stuck in same position.

I tried the same thing on another PC (i7 Haswell, 8GB RAM, 240 GB PCIe SSD) this is a fast machine and still the same problem.

I have a lot of coins stuck in offline wallets that i need to send out. Please tell me how can i resolve this database build problem and get my online Armory working?

Thanks,

Any chance you can provide a Windows wallet link that works? mega just keeps giving unknown error....

look pm (link to my own copy)

Thanks, not sure why mega is not working have tried it on multiple machines in different locations on multiple browsers. it says starting for a few mins then temporary error trying again but just hangs. possibly a location thing? if it is affecting others you should provide more sources. don't want a maxcoin situation!

Where is the best place to get BTC I'm finding it impossible to add funds from here in the UK.

localbitcoins.com

I am buying and selling on there. If you give me some notice I can do a good rate for you. Cash deposit or instant bank transfer of we can meet up and do cash I really don't mind.

Price don't matter.... Question is did you buy / sell at the correct points?

The last month has done me well. Crypto is the future and next couple years will see many changes and mass adoption of smaller countries.

You should be holding as much BTC or favourite Alt as you can afford and don't be put off by minor dips. They are there to shake out the weak holders so we can have your coins cheap!

If holders don't sell so low the price will go up. If holders want to drive the price down they will sell cheap and buy out the panic sellers.

As said before, never sell them cheaper than you bought them.. If we all follow this the price will go up fast and that is what all the holders want ;-)

I have never had any issues with Revenue and Customs at any market.

As long as you are not selling pirate goods or porn you will not be bothered. (By Police not Revenue)

At the end of the day it is the individuals responsibility to declare their business. They don't come looking for you unless you are drawing attention.

Well a good day last Sunday. Lost of interest in Bitcoin, I have probably explained to over 30 people how to get started with wallets etc.

Going to get a Bitcoin flag made soon so people can find easy.

The salsa sounds good! Might be interested in a trade order so we can sell some on. Does it have any Bitcoin related packaging?

Any other ideas welcome. Anyone interested in meeting up this coming Sunday please let me know.

I have to do a large house clearance for a friend so will be selling lots of junk for Bitcoin! Though I don't expect many to pay with Bitcoin but at least we are spreading the word!

Hi johnpeter123

Welcome to newb jail house! The 5 posts are easy but the time logged in is a joke. I have been logged in and going through site for over 4 hours today but system is saying 2.5.

I think you need to be constantly clicking through pages or the timer stops.

What you looking to do with Crypto, where you based?

I have loads of time to kill burning up this 4 hours so may as well have a chat!

Well this is looking like there is some interest on here and in other areas so I thought it would be an idea to put a facebook page together.

This will enable users to advertise items for sale and items wanted before the Sunday meetings. I have started to put some requests on there. If you are interest then become a friend.

I don't think the Government can actually do anything about it. As far as I am aware we have free trade and for any item to be illegal to trade i.e. firearms, drugs, first they must be defined as illegal.

I am not aware of any UK rulings on Crypto currency defining it let alone making it illegal to trade? Please tell me if I have missed something, I know the scene is moving at a fast pace and I know they are concerned regarding money laundering and tax evasion.

I now have servers available to rent for Bitcoin as well!

HP Blade Centre with HP MSA SAN. Dual Quad Core Xeon. SSD Hard Drives etc etc. Full iLO access.

Very cheap prices for people interested in setting up a mining pool in UK. No lengthily contracts required.

If I had the time I would set one up myself but don't know the pool info well enough and don't need any further learning curves!

Great we are gathering momentum in the first few hours! Hopefully I can get out of newb status today!

Are you guys looking to buy or sell Crypto or goods?

I am attempting to get some BTC-e heavy weights in so we actually have serious finances to play with!

At the moment I have the following requests:-

Looking to purchase £500.00 BTC cash

Looking to sell Gold sovereign coins, 1 Oz Silver Britannia coins, 1 Oz Silver investment bars, 10 Oz Silver investment bars

Can also sell computer hardware for BTC www.ebuyer.com max first time order £1K BTC, BTB, LTC

I can send full details of items via email and arrange currency exchanges etc. There is a full security team at the Sunday markets so I am confident exchanges will be safe etc.

I would like to agree with you all! Being as things are you won't mind my post to help me out of cell block newb so I can actually post on the things I need.

While I am here if there are any users from UK please comment on my idea of "Bitcoin Swap Meet"
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=225164.0

Also if you know how to fix the pain in the bum bitgem wallet.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=225075.0

I do understand why you have this restriction but it will only cuase a lot of pointless posts. Should start a thread so pointless posts can be burned up!

Thanks.

That is the problem with doing business on the net. You never know who you are dealing with. I like the trust thread here and think that will work out good in the future.

Have a look at my idea of the "Bitcoin Swap Meet" probably completely irrelevant to what you need but never know.
