Re: Will regulation kill cryptos?
by

on 19/04/2018, 01:58:37 UTC
Regulators want to make sure they protect investors from scams, while at the same time allowing the industry to develop and deploy the new technology in interesting ways. Overregulation could move the action elsewhere, which is what happened in China.

It’s too early to tell who's doing the best job of setting the rules. Nations are taking various tasks.

What do you think?

I think it can be a good thing ! As to avoid scammers in that sense. There are some investors who seem to like the idea of regulation as there saying they feel moreconfortable with the idea.

Re: Cryptocurrency ATM installed in Zimbabwe

https://www.iol.co.za/business-report/international/cryptocurrency-atm-installed-in-zimbabwe-14459889
INTERNATIONAL - Cryptocurrency exchange platform Golix has decided to  install a Bitcoin and Litecoin ATM in Harare.

Zimbabwe has a growing interest for cryptocurrencies as well as other countries in the region.

Zimbabwe is a country that was not able to deal with its own currency. The inflation rates reached 79.6 billion percent in 2009, the highest in the world. The 2-way ATM was activated in the first week of April in order to attend the growing demand for these virtual currencies.

Different countries in Africa have decided to deploy crypto-ATMs in their states.

At the moment, only Zimbabwe and Djibouti have functioning crypto cash machines. Zimbabwe had to switch to US dollars due to the fact that its currency suffered from severe inflationary problems. Bitcoin and Litecoin could help Zimbabwe to face the current problems the economy has by providing a trustful means of exchange to the population. The situation is not better years after the inflationary peak.

Thats amazing news ! All these countries in 3rd world would need this . Zimbabway is the perfect example of what over printing currency did to them ! I think its great there using bitcoin if it can help there econony .

With the price starting to creep up again do you think it's a good time to start selling some of my investments or do you think it's worth holding on for a while longer?

We all know how temperamental the market can be but do you think this is just a short term spike?

IMO i think its always good to hold for long term ! Dont forget we had reached up to 20k usd value ! Were not back there yet .. but when we will this time, i think we will surpass that by further !

Re: Will the price be stable?

I remembered watching a video about bitcoins and the simple information that a beginner can understand. It says that bitcoin only has the maximum of 21 million bitcoins and 17 or 18 million has been mined.

What would happen if the very last block were mined? Will the value of bitcoin finally be stabilized?

Thats a very good question ive been asking myself the same thing. From what i read and understood the mining wont be done until 2040 ? Which is still a very long time to be able to see! I think alot of things can happen even by the end of this year.. will just have to wait and see !

Re: How do you keep your bitcoins?

I have all my coins in on an online trading site (paxful) (low volume)

I plan on making a large investment very soon, and want to safely store all of my coins
I.E I basically want to drop a couple thousand, and keep them in the safest possible way, where I can revisit them in 5-10 years or so and reap the benefits, or cry about the loss.

What is the best way to do this, and what's the best way of ensuring a backup?

How do you currently store your coins

thanks in advance for any inputs

I also wouldnt trust too much online wallets. A cold storage is also very safe ! But my favorite of all times is a paper wallet ! Offline and safe

by bitcoin experts and government officials in pursuit of using bitcoin as another form of payment and regulation of it as well.

http://www.wheninmanila.com/5-things-i-learned-about-bitcoin-and-cryptocurrency/

Thats great news ! I know that there are alot of people from philippines work contracts outside their country and need to send money back home to their families, and they would use conpanies like western union. But with bitcoin is gona be better and cheaper for them !! Amazing

Re: Is it better to mine or buy Bitcoin?
by

on 02/04/2018, 01:38:24 UTC

i think Bitcoin is only profitable if done at large scales. you must get expensive mining equipment and of course it consumes a lot of electricity monthly. Also it’s usually much more cost effective to buy Bitcoins with this money instead of using it to buy mining equipment.

I would agree with you, mining equipments are very expensive. I would say it was worth it at mining when the price was very low. But even that just buying and holding was almost more rewarding in the long run !

Just wondering, who is accumulating Bitcoin via using it as a method of being paid, so instead of being paid in dollars or any other amount you ask client to pay you via Bitcoin especially merchants and freelancers. I think it is cool to be paid via Bitcoin because it appreciates so its like you can earn twice if you sell high.

Hi there,
For merchants im not really sure how there calculating their profits as the price flactuates alot ! But i have seen people accepting to sell there cars in exchange for bitcoin.

Re: Google will ban all cryptocurrency-related advertising

Someone got scammed and now YOU will have to pay the price!

Google will ban all cryptocurrency-related advertising.

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/03/13/google-bans-crypto-ads.html

That suits me really well. Got all my dogecoins nicked on cryptopia. 100 doges stolen on tradsatoshi (They have the best show treating customers like idiots!). Scammed again on bittrex and got my litecoins stolen on poloniex. So far no more trouble than expected on yobit (Someone is trading inside there i believe).

Those pieces of shit that runs the show today don't need any more understanding. Jail should fit.

Hey there !
I see the point that they want to avoid people getting scammed . But so much FUD going on lately. I think its the
Way the present it... ill stay positive and lets hope for a good future !

Re: Is bitcoin digital gold?
by
1nvestments
on 19/03/2018, 23:53:27 UTC
The billionaire venture capitalist is doubling down on BTC, likening the digital coin to gold’s online equal.

Thiel touts the No. 1 cryptocurrency for its size and its ability to compete with gold as a safe haven, saying at the Economic Club of New York:

“I would be long bitcoin, and neutral to skeptical of just about everything else at this point with a few possible exceptions. There will be one online equivalent to gold, and the one you’d bet on would be the biggest,” said Thiel.

But with the exception of a few digital coins, Thiel remains neutral on the rest of the cryptocurrency pack. He didn’t dismiss the possibility that bitcoin could be surpassed by Ethereum or other altcoins that prey on the leading cryptocurrency’s weaknesses, but bitcoin’s strength is in its size.

Bitcoin controls more than 40% of cryptocurrency market cap compared to almost one-fifth for Ethereum, as per Coin Market Cap data cited in CNBC.

I think that bitcoin is the new gold. Many investors are starting to move part of their portfolio into bitcoin which is good news. IMO we should see even more people doing that within the coming years. A good place to park your money for the future , better than gold if you ask me !
