We cant say Ripple is better than Ethereum or Bitcoin, but I agree that Ripple has a chance to overtake them. We'll see where Ripple move!
It's overly simplistic to judge whether one is "better". Better in what sense? Better for what purpose? In terms of institutional payments, ripple suits the banks needs much better than PoW protocols.People don't seem to understand that use of ripple network is not use of XRP. Banks do not have to buy XRP to use ripple network.
The only way to route a transaction between Ripple Consensus Ledger and Interledger Protocol is by using XRP via a feature called Escrow. Ripple ledger's PayChan feature (which is pretty much ripple's "lightning network") also supports XRP only.
Maybe you should take the 4 seconds yourself: Google what a cryptocurrency is. Then notice that it doesn't apply to Ripple.

Do you know how Ripple Consensus Ledger works? Do you know how it can be used to route transactions through Interledger Protocol from private bank ledgers via Escrow? Do you know how PayChan works?

Ripple is not a cryptocurrency. It's some sort of bank coin. So I don't get why it is even on CMC - might as well put paypal there.

It seems you're confirming that my statement that the wording of this article suggests it has nothing to do with the public XRP is likely accurate. I do understand the necessity of privacy utilizing an ILP. How does ripple view these types of threads that use misleading news articles to pump the public chain?
I don't agree with your premise for the reasons that I explained. That FI's can make their payments off ledger and still have them be bridged by XRP when that's to their advantage is a plus, not a minus. If it's misleading not to mention this, it's only because it understates the value proposition. The only way it would be misleading is if anyone said or implied that these payments were being bridged by XRP today. If you see anyone doing that, I will loudly condemn it.I'll just accept that you don't understand the purpose of this thread then.

I invested into Ripple in early 2014, sold all my XRP's two months ago. I had a shit load. Didn't see any progress. So many other projects are coming up with potential and are more relevant. Ripple has been stagnant. Unless I see a BOA, Wells Fargo or JP Morgan adoption..I'll change my position. That's just my take, please prove me wrong. 
Price of XRP may have been stagnant, but that's about it. Everything else about ripple has been moving forward and perhaps you should have paid more attention.

Tell me, what law did he break? Following a Smart Contract with "code is law" rules? I would be very interested to see that lawsuit develop.The only ones who - in my opinion - did anything illegal are the ETH-founders who forked to safe their own money.

Yes. I just watched Charles Hoskinson's interview. Very good news coming from him. I mentioned this in the another thread. Please check out Nick Szabo's retweet that has a like to an ETC wallet generator in it. What do you think? Is he supporting ETC?
Nick Szabo is a self-described libertarian. To me the answer is clear.
