Zerocoin? https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Zerocoin -- From the BitcoinMagazine article: "Some of the proposals which have been suggested in the past include: adding the capability to reverse transactions, confiscation of balances, creating a central authority that can whitelist and/or blacklist addresses, and requiring all users to register their wallets with a government agency. So far none of these have been implemented into the protocol but the pressure to do so is will only continue to increase, especially by venture-funded companies, especially in the USA."
If those things will happen to Bitcoin, I will leave it.

You (Portnoy) should change the status of paperco.in from "perpetually empty" to "gone", as the domain is now parked.

BitAddress.org doesn't generate the vanity address, it pieces together the vanity pool's part of the key which is generated for you, and your part of the key.

I wish spammers would send me money instead of junk mail.

I sent the EXE to ClamAV.
"If nothing else, it looks as though sourceforge has taken down the novascoin "project." I'm guessing that I wasn't the only one to click the "report abuse" button on that page." I did, too.

"DO NOT BUY A OLD USED COMPUTER, there can be trojans in the firmware, or exist a SMM backdoor. also do not use any closed source(Windows, Chrome, ...) use linux or bsd. do not use proprietary/binary driver for your GPU, there can exist a backdoor there too.
your level of paranoia is up to you, but i always have "nc -e sh -p 9090 -l" running."
Perhaps the manufacturer put malware in the BIOS, it's hard to know without the source code.
If the OP wants GNU/Linux on his computer, he should try http://trisquel.info">Trisquel GNU/Linux. There is no proprietary software in it, as it is one of the nine free-as-in-freedom GNU/Linux distributions endorsed by the Free Software Foundation.

Just don't post the address with the 20 BTC in it.

It's probably best then to send the bitcoins to my Electrum wallet, then.
