I hadn't given any thought to how the forum looked on my cell phone Vs my PC.  I wouldn't even know how to install fonts onto the phone, I guess that's why the creators of this forum chose the font they did.

(Personally I always preferred Times New Roman over Ariel, but find Courier New to be better for displaying numerals in work documents as it keeps the values in readable columns).

I would have thought it would be obvious to all that if you had both hands out you would receive twice as much as the person with just one hand out.  If you went to the end of the line and turned up with both hands out again, then the person with just one hand out would get four times less than you.  With KYC the person doing the giving can stop and say "Hang on, didn't I already give you some... yes I did..."

I would be surprised if Facebook doesn't gift it's billions of users a token amount of Libra to introduce everyone to it's money system.  Facebook has obviously decided it wants to learn more about everyone's spending habits and click bait advertising hasn't done them any favours over the years, so why not just start their own crypto currency and sit back and watch what each and every user does with the funds given to them at start up.

I'm sure the Libra will either be pegged to a fiat currency, or it will be sold like gift vouchers in ten, twenty, fifty or even one hundred dollar increments.

The same thing will happen in the western world when the price of bitcoin goes about a certain level.  Probably $100,000 (a million?) Hard to say really, but with only 21 million bitcoins the likelihood of everyone owning bitcoins will get further and further beyond the reach of most people.  Altcoins will have their place alongside bitcoin which will act as a clearing house for larger size transactions which is why in Africa bitcoins adoption is unlikely to occure anytime soon.

But a crypto currency such as bitcoin's volatility would only add misery to an already suffering nation if the price plumeted such as it did recently before returning to more accepted levels.  A villager isn't going to accept that the bitcoin they ammased has suddenly halved in value in the same way fiat deflates via hyperinflation.  They get rid of bitcoin and will be scared off of it for a long, long time.  Build up the nation first and gradually introduce bitcoin to the masses.

Kind of strange that there would be such a divergence of opinion concerning the utilization of crypto in Africa verses the need for assistance in developing nations.  Naturally Africans need a stable currency to thrive (after-all a destabilized currency causes hyperinflation and that is the last thing an already fragile economy would want).  Infrastructure in the form of roads and rail together with clean drinking water and energy supply are all needed, but sadly more and more examples are arising where people in remote areas are connecting to the outside world with cheep phones and even cheaper cell phone plans.

It will be interesting how the introduction of Facebook's dedicated crypto currency into the mixture will affect the use or otherwise of both bitcoin and their in-house Libra token.

Even I wouldn't trust this loan request.

I'm not sure I follow how we "get" one bitcoin.  Are you running a lottery?  Just not clear.

Nice to see Ethereum giving Alt coins an air of respectability at the expence of its own reputation self-imploding.

Are they the only choices?  Perhaps there are a series of hexagons and or pentagons such as what a football / soccer ball has which forms the basis of the planet's crust?

These areas (we'll refer to as plates) could then be semi anchored to each-other with an area of free movement where the plates can rub together at the edges of the plates.

Care should be given if living in these areas as they may over time develop into a "ring of fire" if the plates continue to rub together.
