  • download Gekko genetic algorithm for optimising strategies
  • database downloads including: 5+ years btce btc/usd and many 1+ years major coin pairs on poloniex
  • tips and tricks for using and optimising Gekko

Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option

Hey guys I just moved from the Rox 480s to 1080tis, what these settings I keep reading about, like running at 80% etc?

I bought the msi seahawk corsair hybrid coolers, so cards running at 51c at 100% power.

I'm very keen to optimise so tips would be welcome.
I think most users run cards between 60-90% power target so around 150w - 210w roughly for most 1080 Ti's.

As you will see the more power you run through your card the more hashing power it produces but it doesn't scale well to hashrate. I run all 4 of my 1080 Ti's @ 60% power target which is 150w. They hover around 52-55C and are nice and cool. Allows the fans to only ramp up to around 60% so its quieter and less heat it produced. Also uses a lot less electricity.

For example, Zcash I was running @ 120% power target (2100Mhz core) which is nearly 300w and I was getting around 780-790 Sol/s. I turned down the power target to 60% (1750Mhz) and was getting around 630 Sol/s. Half the power and only losing 150 Sol/s.

Perfect thanks!

-2x PCI-e 3.0 x1
-PCI-e 3.0 x4
-PCI-e 3.0 x16

How many 1080Ti can I connect?

Anyone?

I try and run Gekko 0.3.4 with node v7.4.0 trading just on BTC-e with pretty much the default settings, it can paper trade, and it works fine in trader mode until it actually wants to do a trade, then it crashes every time. Sometimes with a nonce error, other times something like:

/gekko/node_modules/btc-e/btc-e.js:79
      return callback(new Error(result.error));
             ^

Do other people have Gekko 0.3.4 trading ok on BTC-e ?

I have tried LTC/BTC, ETH/RUR both crash.

Only tried backtesting and paper trading so far but given Mike is active amd trading is fundamental to the bot I cant imagine why it would t work. Have you tried btc usd?

Ok i think i have found the sweet spot about power consumption and h/s for my 6x RX 480 REF stock BIOS, only overclocking/undervolting adjust :

405-420 H/s and 690-700W at the wall, maybe more if Mr Claymore can go up the hashes again with the miner Cheesy

Cheers.

Can you post some details around how you achieved this? I can get the wattage but I get 320h/s in return.

Ok so starting from scratch, brand new ssd it took me about 20 minutes to get a mining rig up on ubuntu 16.04 with SA3.

My findings were initially it was pretty much the same as claymore on windows. So technically slightly better as there is no fee. However, then I noticed GPUs dropping out like with Genoil miner.

I then unplugged the ubuntu hd and re-plugged in the windows ssd and that's what I'm sticking with for now.

Re: Genoil's ZEC miner: AMD ZCash miner for Windows - 0.6

0.6 suffers from the very same stability issues. works nicely when I start it, come back after an hour an all cards are showing 0.0Sol/s.

Use the -f 2 option and a goto loop in the batch file. I also have a watchdog daemon to monitor power consumption of my rigs and restart them when the power consumption is too low. Works like a charm. I'm getting 35-40 sol/s stable with RX 480 and 0.6.

Can you share that script?

Re: ZCash hashing speed ! what you get , what you using , (wallet/pool/hardware)

Operation Sysytem :  Win 10
Miner : Genoil 4.1 set on a 200 second restart (v5 kills the drivers regularly so had to roll back).
Speed : 170-250 (very variable)
Pool: suprnova
VGA Card(s): 6 x Sapphire nitro 8gb rx480s - default bios (eth bios very unstable with amd drivers)
Bat or start file settings: default
CPU: i7 haswell something (upgraded this today made a huge difference, as well as changing from 1 x 4 gig ddr3 to 2 x 8 gig)
CPU Mining Speed : not mining

Suprnova - seems very reliable, struggled with coinsforall but extremal was very helpful.

So, I have 3 RX480 GPUs and 2 RX470 GPUs. I'm using EXtremal's mining software on a Windows 10 machine, and getting almost 80 SOLS total. Should I be getting more? I'm using mining version 0.2.0. Is there a version higher that's stable that would get me better SOLS on a Windows 10 machine?

Yes you should be getting way more. About 30 per rx480 is reasonable.

Please help with bat file...
genoil.exe -c zec.suprnova.cc:2142 -u Genoil.SilentArmy -p z -i 16 -w 64 -P 1 -g 1
r390 working with that... but at radeon sapphire 8gb 480 i get "clGetDeviceIDs"

for open CL set -P 0 instead of -P 1

I'm curious about this. Is there a performance difference between open cl and what is the other option?

4.2 crashes on launch for me - 480 nitros with custom bios. 4.1 is doing good numbers although is a little unstable (that could be the mining pool though, suprnova.cc)

Nah 4.1 runs for me about 6 hours tops then a thread stuck in driver and bsod. But the performance is almost double that of nicehash.  Some babysitting will due the trick.  What scares me most is the corrupted drives I'm seeing as a result of this crash. Three pcs now. One had to have drivers reinstalled. Don't have any idea how it could corrupt drivers that should be read only but it's always something new.  I've also found that if you have a weak psu this algo will help point that out to you;)

Best Regards
d57heinz

That's scary...are they hds or ssds? No issues with ssds for me and no blue screens! My power consumption for a 6 rx480 nitro rig is about 650 which is ridiculously low.
