I have found that underpowered ones can be hit or miss and when I had 4x Sapphire 7950's they would would be rather glitch or not work at all without the power (on both 16x-16x no power to 1x-16x no power cables). http://www.cryptocables.com/ has cables that worked for me everytime and were not cheap chinese crap.

Re: Bitcoin Windows gadget which displays BTC and currency amounts
Thanks so much, works perfect. Your gadget is the best one out there!
On a side note I made some changes to its look to make it match the darker theme of my other gadgets. Bright gold can be distracting, thought I would show you a screenshot. You should think of adding some skins somewhere down the line http://i.imgur.com/9zpYE4x.jpg

You could just burn it to a Blu-Ray disc or a few DVDs. If you want it to last longer then try an M-Disc. All of them are EMP-proof. Any optical media really.

I agree there is no EMP big enough to take out the whole world but its interesting that few people realize the HUGE EMP that can be created blowing up a nuclear bomb in the atmosphere. "in July 1962 the Starfish Prime test damaged electronics in Honolulu and New Zealand (approximately 1,300 kilometers away), fused 300 street lights on Oahu (Hawaii), set off about 100 burglar alarms, and caused the failure of a microwave repeating station on Kauai, which cut off the sturdy telephone system from the other Hawaiian islands."
Granted still not enough to take out the world but really interesting if you think of the economic shutdown effect this would have on a small countries economy. Which is why I am unsure why the US has never used an EMP in general (not just the nuke generated kind) to cripple a enemy nations economy, and then swoop in and complete a mission while the communications and infrastructure is down.

I always wondered how many servers/databases are protected from EMPs? I would think they would build a Faraday cage into the walls but maybe not. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faraday_cage
Sorry if this is a stupid question but why the slowdown lately?
Difficulty...
I understand that but thought there might be some other factor going on (been out of town for the last two weeks so haven't been keeping up on bitcoin news). Never seen difficulty hit this fast, last week there was seeing 16-25 blocks a day. Then again there is always the randomness of it all. Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for the info guys. I am familiar with how it works as I take Lindens out from time to time. Too bad they shut down L to BTC... would have had enough to get 23 bitcoins (I make a lot of SL sales).

I got two Pi boards myself, they are a lot of fun to mess around with. I have to ask the question though... why would one not use a 1 foot usb extension cords on each port of the hub to keep the Erupters farther apart? Hell could take a block Erupter shell off and vaccum seal all the PCBs and the exposed usb parts and just lay them in a few buckets of water, might melt the plastic but who knows! Iunno fun stuff

Yeah I don't trust online wallets. Sites get compromised. I rather lose my BTC on my own terms.
"To be clear: per the Terms of Service, these resellers will not be allowed to purchase L$ outside of the LindeX (i.e. they will not be able to buy L$ back from users and cash people out). "
Well looks like I gotta go Lindens to $ to Bitcoin... unless someone wants to buy Lindens at slightly below market value for bitcoins.

Second Life Lindens to Bitcoins using VirWox

Not at all new the Bitcoins or SL but finally made an account here after lurking for the last 10 months. I stumbled upon this article about using VirWox to transfer Lindens into Bitcoins. I also notice it was written in April. So I tried setting this up today and though I can validate my avatar and with VirWox it won't let me pay the terminals. I have a feeling Linden Labs (maker of SL) changed their policy. Anyone know anything about this. Thanks for your time.
