Re: [Critical Update] Feathercoin 0.6.4 - Hard Fork at block 33,000

That is very odd indeed and I'm wondering if it is something local if multiple computers are having the issue.

Have you restarted your router?

Can you ping and get a response from the Feathercoin DNS Seed nodes below?

dnsseed.feathercoin.com
dnsseed.fc.altcointech.net
dnsseed.alltheco.in
dnsseed.btcltcftc.com

There is no old copy of Feathercoin online. If you PM me your email address I can mail it to you.

So while trouble shooting I noticed Steam could not also connect to it's network. I contacted my ISP and they reset a switch to my home, after 20min, I can now connect to the steam network and most importantly; the feathercoin network! Thanks for you assistance, if this issue arises again I will inquire about changing ISP's.

EDIT1: To restore the wallet backup I have, I typed -rescan in the console so the client can find the .dat but it's not. Where do I place the backed up wallet so it can be restored?

EDIT2: Solved, I just replaced the wallet.dat in the roaming file with my back up, and done! back to mining!

My wallet has been backed up. I deleted the client and the file in Appdata/Roaming. I re-downloaded the .zip and ran the client, still nothing.
Could it be something with UPnP? Should I try the  SOCKS proxy?

EDIT 1:I installed the feather coin client (0.6.4) on a windows 8 laptop I have and it too is not connecting to the network. My location is Ottawa, Ontario.

EDIT 2:I need to try the 0.6.3 client again to confirm its not the client. Any download links available?

This is what I get in the console: {
"version" : 60400,
"protocolversion" : 60001,
"walletversion" : 60000,
"balance" : 64.33841680,
"blocks" : 32828,
"connections" : 0,
"proxy" : "",
"difficulty" : 188.19010869,

"keypoolsize" : 101,
"paytxfee" : 0.00000000,
"mininput" : 0.00010000,
"errors" : ""
}

I have no connections to the network and out of sync. Ideas?

Can someone post a link to the 0.6.3 client? I need a client that works for now until 0.6.4 is repaired.

I have been mining sole FTC for the past week. Have 70 coins! LTC blows.

I got the new client. It currently shows 0 active connections to the network and out of sync, but that will be resolved when the next block is found? Should I just switch back till then?

But it's a BTC miner. It can't and won't mine LTC.

I understand it wont mine ltc. What I said was payment. I might end up getting the eruptor miner instead.

I have show interest in the USB Block Erupter Miner that is also being advertised in this topic. The unit is past the drafting stage and working prototypes have been made. The price is BTC1.99 .

Since this Avalon miner will have a lower output and wont be ready to ship for a couple months, what will the price be with the Avalon chip? If the price is estimated to be below $100 than I would say it's a scam.

The hell with cg. GUI miner scrypt works fine compared to cg. I'm currently averaging ~1330Kh/s with it.

in the client when pressing "g" the following appears.

Why is only one card being seen?

Again, here is my .bat

based on the information from device manager that showes the gpus in this order :6900,5700,5800,5800 I changed the .bin to this : --shaders 8000,3200,6144,6144 . But my hashes are still crap. Drivers Cat 12.8 and App 2.5.

Search for word "garbage" in the READMEs.

I have. My settings are posted from the .bin ...what program would accurately identify the gpu position on the board?

You should definitely try cgminer. Go along the analytical readme and most likely you will be able to squeeze out more Kh/s from your cards

Using a neat program called "cgEasy" My miner is running on with default settings at dismal ~ 200Kh/s. The rate is slower to climb it's max than guiminer. I will attempt to modify the .bat and "optimize" it for my setup (multiple and mixed gpus)

My hash rate on give-me-ltc is showing right now ~1370Kh/s. It's short from the 1600 I expected but I suppose that's life.

I got frustrated and reinstalled windows. with cat 12.8 and app 2.5 installed, total right now is 944Kh/s. System ram is 8Gig. I feel like adding the forth card did nothing to output. As if the output of the other cards has been shifted to the fourth card minus some output.

Unfortunately unless other miner clients mature, I will be using guiminer because of it's simplicity.

I got some risers in today and added a 5770. total is 2 5870, 1 6950 and a 5770. I've been uninstalling and installing cat versions like 12.8, 12.4, stream v2.6 and v2.8. What is the definitive answer? What driver combo do I go for?

p.s. average sustained before the addition of the 5770 was ~1100Khs.
OS: Windows 7 x64

Reward to whom provides info that leads my system back to operation. (.33271053LTC)

AMD was expected to release the 8k desktop gpu's this spring but they announced that it will be closer to Jan 2014. Only reason the difficulty is going up so quick for ltc is people are adding more gpus, not faster ones.
