China. Gold. Bitcoin.

In July 1971 Henry Kissenger, US National Security Advisor, made a secret trip to Beijing.

In August 1971 Nixon announced the end of the USA gold standard.

These are connected, in theory. Here's why: USA needed China to help them defeat the Soviet Union. China had leverage, they wanted huge amounts of investment. So the USA had to leave the gold standard in order to provide huge amounts of cash investments to China.

The rest is History.

I would love to see the archive of the notes made by the Chinese officials about Kissengers visit.

Christmas means many things to many people.

There's an essence and spirit in Chistmas that is captured in all seasonal celebrations: love, sharing, understanding and hope.

Materially there is only about $80,000 of product and services on the planet per person. (Credit Suisse wealth report) 80K doesn't buy much.

Bitcoin has marched through dark winters and survived many a Christmas. We all have our own interest and profit from Bitcoin.

Christmas, the festive season, is a time to remind ourselves of all the good we want to do, all that we would share if the material world wasn't so harsh. Bitcoin will help us achieve these noble aims.

Bitcoin will deliver greater efficiency in our economies, freedom and prosperity for even more people. And many a Happy Chistmas to come.

Merry Christmas!
