Divi has two phases. We are in phase one now.
Phase 1, Divi project funded via the token sale of ERC20 Divi Exchange Tokens, called Divx. We all bought Divx in the ICO and now Divx can be bought at Cryptopia.
During this phase we will get "airdrops" from the Divi team, free tokens that add up to our balance of Divx during this phase.
Phase 2 Divx to Divi conversion will happen in 2018 Q2.
Once the Divi Mainnet is launched, and the new Divi coin is created we will do a conversion process, all Divx tokens will be exchanged for Divi coins.
Once we have the Mainnet, have our Divi coins, the new phase is where we will start "staking" for the returns or interest you mention.
You can go to the Divi Discord and read over the "Masternodes" channel to get all the details on the returns for the staking and masternodes.

Do we receive the "airdrops" if we are holding them on Cryptopia?
They must be held in a wallet, not an exchange, to receive airdrops.

When running a Divi node, what kind of server power is optimal? Is this something that benefits from high end CPU versus high end GPU? If I have a GPU mining rig on windows does it make sense to use it, or to use a CPU with many cores?
You can run a DIVI masternode off of virtually any computer or laptop. It does not require insane specs or a high level of hardware investment.
