I want to introduce you to the DEKSA project, from Indonesia. This is our partner project which is trying to create a real world asset token from the real world kingdom. We believe this project has huge potential in the RWA sector.

Yes, you heard it right, real world kingdom. (Karaton Surakarta official website: kratonsurakarta.com)

There is a kingdom in the center of Indonesia known as the "Karaton"; "Karaton" is the local language for "palace" or "kingdom", and Surakarta is the city and area where this kingdom is located. (This is the hometown of President Jokowi btw, Indonesia current president)

This kingdom is truly majestic, large and admired in Indonesia.

In its gloryday, this kingdom controlled a very large area. For perspective, they controlled half of Java; it’s 2X the area of Hawaii, 10X the area of Bali, and 200X the area of the Maldives. This resources makes the Surakarta Palace very, very rich because it controls all sectors in such a large area.

Being a very great entity, makes the Karaton Surakarta have a very big impact in history. Towards the modern era, this kingdom became part of the birth of the Indonesian state. Therefore, people in Indonesia really admire this kingdom because of its contribution to the country.
This admiration is also very reasonable. During its 280 years of existence, the Karaton Surakarta was the "state of art" of its time. All the arts, culture and wisdom that exist in Indonesia are intellectual property developed of things that were created by the Karaton Surakarta. All progress and innovation in Java was also a development of the Karaton Surakarta at that time.

One example that I personally like is the fun fact that the first car in Indonesia belonged to the King of Karaton Surakarta; At that time, people thought this was a ghost horse carriage because they were amazed by the very novel thing that this carriage could run without being pulled by a horse. It's Potential – The Treasure

The team from the DEKSA project sees this as a treasure. You as a web3 expert looking at an entity with a wealth of assets, a wealth of art, and a wealth of stories must also be able to see its potential.

NFT will leverage the wealth of the Karaton Surakarta for its art and culture. The presence of the metaverse in the future will enrich the Karaton Surakarta through the historical stories they have. The wealth of assets owned will also be a strong fundamental for the RWA token narrative.

The first time the DEKSA team was trusted by Karaton Surakarta, this entity didn't even have any social media, and didn't even have a website. All it has is a museum. Then the DEKSA team created Instagram and a website as a starting point. For the DEKSA project team, they believe that the Surakarta Palace is not enough to just be admired locally. With all its stories and art, the Karaton Surakarta has the potential to be admired globally.
