Re: What's to make of the NFT craze in retrospect?
by

Some NFTs have the play-to-earn model and can be a success. But some doesnt and solely exist for 'greater fool theory'. As long as they can dump their worthless NFT to the next one with a higher price then they will shill the f out of it. You need a keen eye and cool head to distinguish which NFT is worthy and worthless.

Re: Can Dogecoin reach 1$ soon?
by
AbNewton
on 14/05/2021, 09:35:39 UTC
People are finally starting to wake up and see the sneaky manipulation behind all this. This won't go on too long especially as the alt coin season will soon end and BTC will start reaching new heights. Not all people are sheep and so easy to manipulate as Mr. Elon thinks. After all why should I make a billionaire even richer than he already is? Dogecoin will never be anything else than a pump and dump coin.

Cant wait to see people face when they realizes how much Elon Musk manipulated them and the market. Not only he manipulates dogecoin, but now pull his hands to Bitcoin. Have you seen his yesterdays tweet about Bitcoin and Tesla? Like he pumped Bitcoin price for several thousands, with a finger snap he dropped it back... This manipulator could bring down whole market if he moves back $1.5kk from Bitcoin. Fun part is, the reason to suspend Tesla car Bitcoin purchase was "increase use of fossil oils" for mining. If he is so smart, why dont he thought about fossil oils when he invested into Bitcoin.
I already saw from miles away with his trick. Sure Dogecoin is a meme so I can understand how its price got a nice pump but nowhere near that instant price pump to help it came to the top 5 of CMC a week ago. There is clearly manipulates from Elon Musk to able push it that far.

Re: Idena is the first Proof-of-Person Blockchain

Is there a mining calculator available for idena . I have hosted a VPS and need to check the total earning i would get if i run 24x7 and the possible earnings in iDNA.
Daily profit is around 8.25 iDNA and the requirement for running a iDNA node is around this:

Processor: 64-bit, 1 core (2 cores recomended)
Memory: 2GB
Hard disk: 100GB
Internet connection: Flat internet tariff, more than 600GB of monthly traffic

A typical $5 VPS would do the job. Having a stable 24/7 remoted node for iDNA is worth the money, I think.

From which supplier do you find such prices of $ 5 for a server with a 100g + hard disk?
Don't go for the international VPS host like Vultr or DigitalOcean since they're very expensive. Try to look at your local VPS in your country since they usually offer a much better deal in terms of pricing. Some may allow you to opt out SSD to the HDD storage to suit your need. See, some in this thread gave you a few suggestions already.

Re: Will bailouts become more frequent?

You have to eleborate , how was wall street bailed out?

Some companies were bailed out , some stimulus checks were given to pepole. I dont see how this is wall street bailout.

It wasn't, not yet. Banks were well capitalized heading into this, sitting on record amounts of cash. However, there are millions of people currently missing mortgage payments and defaulting on credit cards and other loans as we speak. It's hard to say how quickly those cash reserves will be eaten through in some of the darker economic scenarios.

Remember, when the housing crisis hit in 2007, it took a year before the bottom completely fell out and Congress passed the TARP bailout. The same thing could happen this time around. Maybe 2021 will be the year of the bank bailouts.
Also, the government decides to print out more money too. Bank's interest rate also changed to lower compare to before in some countries. People put all their savings to gold or stock as they consider it was a safe channel to hide over this time. Definitely something in the recipe for disaster. My prediction is the real estate crash will trigger the start.

Re: Don't invest for quick gains only
by

on 06/09/2020, 19:19:52 UTC
Just like the way most of us want to invest and cash out immediately lol. But then, if we you are in a big project and you see a glaring future about it, it's good to invest and let it grow, not only short and quick investment only.

Few coins are cool for very long term investment, I agree with you. But there is nothing wrong with making quick gains on some trade setups, speaking from the angle of a price action trader. Sometimes I see highly profitable setups with good R:R ratio and swing trade them for short term purpose. This doesn't mean I don't keep some coins for very long term.
Doesn't wrong but has a lot of risks. If you know that the recent exit scam, Sushi coin has a huge number of traders invest for the short term because of what you said. Many scam coins come to operate their scam by doing pump as high but must believable as they can, in a good reputation exchange then hola, guys like you drop into their scam in a heartbeat.

It's refreshing to know that Sportsbet got another partner in Southampton FC. Let's keep flash that BTCitcoin to the viewers of the most watched league in the world  Smiley
Yeah, bit surreal to finally see our crypto have sort of an impact on the real world. I know crypto already has a lot of achievements along the way but this thing is... how I explain it? Sitting at your sofa after a dau of work, watching a football match with a beer, and seeing that little logo of crypto. Feeling more real than anything. Cry

Re: Is it time to have a Corona virus sub-board?
by
AbNewton
on 05/09/2020, 21:48:27 UTC
No, I don't think we should allocate resources of bitcointalk and adding more oil to an on-going problem by letting them have a battleground to go wild about it. Who knows, might not be as 'civil' as they trying in Politics & Society board.
Hopefully, this corona virus will soon blow over in the next year and everything will back to normal. Should not treat this one-time-only event as something normal and build a fence for it. If you're still very keen on about doing it, at least put the name of the board: "pandemic" so we can later use it for any upcoming virus that similar to corona flu, ha.

Re: Is the crypto community getting lost again?
by

What do you mean by "crypto community getting lost again?" This is nothing new when every day, there is always some new bullcrap chunk out and some people are gullible enough. They invest in it without any proper research and lost their money. The Yield Farming projects is just one in many of other crap we have to put through as watching other people lost their money easily like that. Well, it was their money after all so I don't really care about if they lost it by investing in stupid things like Yield Farming projects and its naming sense is horrible.

The door will never close to anyone willing to spend their time to learn. Being a success crypto trader does require a deep understanding and a huge amount of effort but doesn't mean you can't be an average trader.

Re: Does bounty still kind of worth on 2020?
by
AbNewton
on 31/08/2020, 10:42:08 UTC
It is worth if you know to be careful about which bounties you should participate in. Like looking a needle in haystack, a million cryptocurrencies with many new ones and their bounties, no doubt there will be some worthless one. Yes, bounty in 2020 still works but only for those that are selective.

Re: Is this Right Time to buy Some ALT coins?
by
AbNewton
on 31/08/2020, 10:37:33 UTC
everytime is the right time, but only if you invested in Bitcoin first before other currency.

altcoins are too many to choose but if you will stick in the top 5-10 then the safer your investment will be.try not to sneak for shitcoins because trust me the chance of profit is too little than to expect.
There are always some altcoins, which are profitable for investing in. But that is the question to find the best, as you above mentioned top altcoins are the best choice for making a profit in the future. But l think it can take a bit of time, l mean if you are a long term investor, you should prefer top altcoins, on the other hand, it is not a great idea.
Any long term investor will buy top altcoin as much as they can when it in a downtrend. But not every altcoin at the top is a good investment since there the one like YFI which only got to near the top thanks to the pump. Right time to buy some altcoins? Yes but spend your time on research which is the best altcoin that will have strongest price recovery to put your money in.

Re: Bad projects equals Bad results
by
AbNewton
on 31/08/2020, 10:04:01 UTC
Yes, only bad projects would be dumped and the price will not recover after the end of the bounty. If it was a good project, 1%-2% of funding for bounty aint the problem and can't cause or trigger a dump. Any project blames their price fall on bounty hunters are just bad and want to use bounty hunters as their scapegoat.

I think I will dump the coin I got from bounty right away since I learned a hard reason that never spends too much affection for a single bounty no matter how good the profit it brings back. Few times I let my emotion overflow and keep holding the bounty bag only to see it going to lower till nearly worthless. Yes, sound stupid but that is my reason for doing it.

I use blockfolio on my phone since I'm quite busy and that's the most convenient way for me to stay updated about the crypto market. If you're the same as me, on the road most of the time then that is the best course of action.

The cryptocurrencies landscape will keep changing as time progress. We can only increase our skill, be smarter, be wiser to make sure we have enough chance for any sudden change in the crypto market. Only that and maybe we have opportunities for earning profits.

Technically, we already have some small progress on what you saying. Look at China and their cashless money. Nearly similar to cryptocurrency if it was used at a country scale. I have hope because of that so I think yes, it is possible for one day, cryptocurrencies accepted as the universal money in many countries.

Re: Always look at the coins MAX supply
by
AbNewton
on 23/08/2020, 19:59:07 UTC
Maybe the max supply is not very important as you have seen. Look at the market, there are plenty of coins even it don't have a limited max supply, still fetch for a good price. A good use case is far more important than try to hold a coin with limited max supply as its main attraction.
Obviously, a good use case on a product from a project is a very important thing to look at rather than keep the coins at a max supply, because we can see the progress of a project through the number of products used by everyone in real time.
Yes, I think the idea of cause demand by limited the supply is quite old and doesn't work anymore in today's market. Look at the top altcoin on CMC expect ETH and BTC, see any coin stay there just because they have a low supply? Don't count in the new one since their price hasn't stabilized yet.

Since the esport takes the initiative and now, it comes to the real sport. Heck, I think they're quite late to the crypto party, and what took them so long to have a partnership with crypto? Maybe because of the pandemic so their traditional money scheme running out?
