1K$ in BTC definitely a good choice. I would personally invest 80% into BTC so 1.200$ instead of 1K. Bitcoin is and will be the king for really long time.

The rest equally in Ethereum, Binance Coin, Cardano, Monero and Dogecoin. Don't invest in anything that isn't in Top30, please. Some of them might go down but they'll come back up again as they managed over the years.

Three rules:

1 - Do NOT day-trade. Nobody knows what's gonna happen the next minute and most of traders are in red numbers.

2 - HODL. The best strategy is to buy and forget about it. If the price goes down, buy more. Withdraw ONLY if you can make profit! Bulletproof strategy.

3 - Not your keys, not your coin. Move your coin out of the exchange as soon as you can. It'll be easier to follow rules #1 & #2 and you really owns the coins. If you'll keep it in the exchange you own only "I owe you" tokens and you can lose all your coins if the exchange gets hacked. Read about "Mt. Gox" and BitFloor hacks, please.

No volume means a very little interest and you'll have to wait pretty long time to sell the token or just lower the asking price. But the project itself don't have to be dead completely and if you're optimistic about it and don't need the money, simply don't sell. HODL! Yes, you might end up with a bag of worthless coins but you won't lose your money until you sell

You can end up burning it down. Not really worth it IMHO. If you want to get the feel of mining and learn something new, buy an old PC with something silly like Celeron, second hand GPU (RX 570/580 4GB) and try to mine cryptonight like Monero.

I'm not sure if this could be even considered as a scam. How the dev made the money? I remember they tried to dump some MN on the only exchange they got it listed and nobody bought even one. Only two sales: one about 50 and the other about 100 of the shitty coin. Was is really worth the time? I guess the dev just realized it's not that easy to run the whole shebang and disappeared. Or simply decided to enjoy the school summer holidays

Anyway, I'm glad I got your attention. Do you know what is causing the downtime? I'll try to find printscreens from the one I've mentioned if that'll help. I'm sure your miners will appreciate if you can fix it. Once fixed, I'll be happy to try your pool again too as I can remember some great earning in my early days.

I had a similar experience a couple of weeks back. Zergpool went down for a few hours and I lost the hash. Didn't mention it that time here but even if I did, Pinpins would probably ignore it as they ignored your post. Shame as I was hoping to use them long term. Went with Blockmasters at the end. Rewards are similar, no downtime yet. I guess they just use better servers or know how to set it more efficient.
