is there a pool with some good hashrate other than ghash.io ?
all the pools I found have zero to 30mh
ghash converts all coins into LTC or BTC and I just want WDC

https://www.cryptodiggers.eu/wdc/

I trust Buggie, cryptodiggers are very professional and use expensive, secure hardware. Nevertheless always be cautious, I don't take responsibility if something bad happens so use it at your own risk.

For more pools visit http://sitesthatacceptworldcoin.com/listings-category/resources/pools-resources/ if you are still not satisified. If all still fails ask here http://forum.worldcoin.global/index.php?/forum/28-mining/ and you will get multiple responses from various WDC community members.

I've downloaded the latest wallet setup for Windows.
I can not get it to install as the setup times out when attempting to d/l from the server.
Tried it both ways (expert and basic).

Fixed, problem with nameservers, sorry for the inconvenience as it took longer than expected to pinpoint the issue.

Please stop snowing at Worldcoin Alliance Website.
It was funny for a while, but it is resources-hungry: heating up the laptop, shortening battery life while doesn't make reading the page content easier...

Density changed, when it gets warmer the snow will turn into rain.

Drunk Turtle 1.0.0

Release Notes

http://i1.wp.com/www.worldcoinalliance.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/DrunkTurtle_1.0.0.jpg?resize=867%2C583

1.   Prologue

November 2014: Enter the Drunken Turtle

We’re aware that over the past 6 months, our communication on future wallet releases and updates have been less than expected.  Some might even go so far as to say that development has been sloppy or slow.  Something like a drunk turtle who swims her path without sight, direction or plan.  Instead of minor updates to the current wallet, like bitcoin and some others have done, we’ve used the past months to develop a roadmap, and figure out the best way to give the community the kind of rich experiences they want from Worldcoin, while preserving the security and simplicity of the current wallet and ecosystem.  It’s not easy to make changes to such a system without careful thought and planning.

Having said that, we would like to propose a toast …

In the name of endangered drunk turtle who has waddled on, we would like commemorate her for the eggs of life which will be providing us with many more drunken turtles. We want to also thank her for not drinking during pregnancy which will ensure future releases are not deformed. It’s in her proverbial name that we honor the release, and turn the page to a new chapter for Worldcoin.

(Cheers - Gesondheid,  Gëzuar, فى صحتك:,  Կէնաձդ, Nuş olsun, Živjeli, Haздpaвe , Aung myin par say, Salut, Biba, 干杯, gān bēi, Živjeli, Na zdravi, Skål, Proost, Terviseks, Mabuhay, Kippis, Santé, Salud, Zum wohl, YΓEIA, Œkålè ma’luna, לחיים, Egészségedre, Skál, Sláinte, Salute, 乾杯, Kanpai, 건배, Priekā, į sveikatą, Ha здpaвje, Эpүүл мэндийн төлөө, Skål, Na zdrowie, Saúde, Sanatate, Ha здopoвьe, živeliNa zdravie, Salud, Skål, Chok dee, Şerefe, бyдьмo, Dô, Một hai ba,  yo, Iechyd da, Sei gesund)

2.  Changes

Ok, time to get serious. We’ve broken the major changes for this release into three categories:

2.1   Qt Library Upgrade and modularization

The new wallet was updated and refactored to allow the use of version 5.3 of Qt Libraries, also there is no longer a single binary but a set of dynamic libraries and a smaller executable.  You won't see the true benefit to this until future releases, but it’s significant, and will allow us to improve the wallet immensely  in the future and offer the community the features they desire.

2.2   Gauss (General Availability Upgrade System Service)

Gauss is an advanced tool that allows users to make upgrades to their wallets securely and simply. This will mitigate many of the the past issues of wallets not working properly after an upgrade. Users have two ways to interact with Gauss; the first is when the user begins the installation of the new architecture (this will be everybody for this release), this wallet upgrade is compatible with previous releases.

Gauss will act as a user friendly wizard that guides users through the configuration of various  parameters. The second way (once the new wallet installed) will be the icon integrated in the wallet that alerts users when an upgrade is available. For the tech geeks - Gauss connects to a custom C++ application known as Pulzar periodically.  Initially this will be set to 6 hours by default and act according to the upgrade instructions Pulzar has been given. Specifically we’re talking about mandatory and optional wallet upgrades. It’s important to understand that with the exception of a critical issue i.e. (hard fork, heartbleed, etc), upgrades will be optional.  No one will be forced to upgrade their wallet unless the issue is critical.

Additionally users can subscribe to ‘channels’ to filter the kind of updates he/she will receive.  This means that users will have the option to upgrade to a beta release or wait for the final release.  We encourage users to try out the beta features, but for those of you who are less adventurous, you will be able to set your preference to only update on final releases.

2.3   Pulzar

Pulzar is a custom  c++ application server written completely from scratch, with strict designated purposes and capabilities embodied in tight security. It has a runtime plugin architecture that allows us to increase functionality without touching or recompiling the core backbone. The backbone is responsibility for core components namely specific functions : Logs, Databases, Updater, Scheduler and Connection Management.

The main function of Pulzar is to provide services (something you will hear a lot from us in the coming months).  The first service we are releasing is Upgrade System, Gauss.

In other words Gauss is the first plugin released among a long list of planned services.  Our community has spoken loud and clear that they want more services and we couldn’t agree more!  We believe we have created a unique way to provide services without compromising security and the core features of the wallet.  Worldcoin will be the first crypto currency to offer this type of architecture (integrated/but separate) into the wallet.  We hope that you are as excited as we are!

 3.  Asking for help

The official ways to ask for support are the forum here or http://worldcoinforum.org/ and the irc channel where we’re located on the freenode network channel #worldcoin.

If you don’t have IRC head over to the freenode website and channel #worldcoin.

Alternatively, feel free to send us an email with any feedback at contact@worldcoin.global.

4.  About versioning

From this version on, we will use a 3 digit version number system and a Project Code Name.  Each digit has a specific meaning

For example :

Version 5.8.3

5: Major digit. It changes when deep structural changes were made

8: Feature digit. New features will be depicted by this digit

3: Bug digit. Only bugs and small changes

Prior to this release, the latest version of Worldcoin was 0.8.6.2.  Since we are embarking in a totally new direction with features that have not been released from other crypto currencies, we have decided to start our new version at 1.0.0 (Drunken Turtle).  We have also decided that with each release, we will also provide a new name.  We will try to make these names funny and interesting.  We think a light hearted approach to the naming convention is a fun way to keep the releases exciting.  Using an alpha name with the version number, will allow us to more easily communicate with our community to address bugs and keep better track of the changes that occurred in each release.

5.   Future

Phase I  represents a one year spawn on our development plan.

This phase is composed by 3 milestones. The first of which was released today.

Major releases will be made in a 4-6 month scale. With feature/bug releases between them

We can't talk about this in detail at this point, but our next major release will be another deep structural change, allowing us to have a complete framework client and server side that will help us to consolidate our visión.

6.  About the license

The wallet is and always will be free, but the services built around it will be proprietary. The main reason for this is to avoid cheap copycats, scammers and prevent haters from trashing our community.

This way we can guarantee to the community, the innovation and distinctive features only seen by our beloved coin.

7.    Final words

As we specified in the prologue, past releases have been slow but given the nature of a wallet these things cannot be rushed. We can assure you that we have been continuously working hard behind scenes designing and implementing the current release. We have been brainstorming an amazing vision for Worldcoin’s future which we will begin to unfold over the next few major releases.

The committee has a new philosophy under the new reigns which is ‘Under commit and over deliver. ‘

Given the new features and our excitement, it’s been difficult to keep this a secret from you. With a lot of things we have had to remain painfully silent and it has been frustrating for both you and us. Our goal is never to gain value in the short term, but to being the most successful crypto currency for the long term. We can achieve this by taking our time and building sustained solutions with the community.  We strongly believe this is the way to proceed after having a dedicated leadership team and the best community in the crypto space.  In an area saturated with uncertainty and empty promises, Worldcoin will shine because of our vision, commitment to integrity, and of course our community.

In closing, the potential for Pulzar to bring a great variety of useful and innovative services to our users is huge! We’ve just started to present the first piece of many in our vision, and we look forward to showing you more in the coming months and continuing to gain your trust and respect.

- Worldcoin Committee

P.S Don't forget to download here http://www.worldcoinalliance.net/worldcoin-quick-start/, linux and mac have not been uploaded yet but will be soon, watch this space. Please note the newest version is not compatible with XP, however 8.6.2 versions will still run correctly for now and you shouldn't have any problems.

Brilliant job guys, the Android wallet looks great and Magot worked hard on this. Thanks to all the beta testers who ironed out the majority of bugs.

Re: Altcoin Poll - 2014/05

Worldcoin has 4 ways of merchant implementation, 10+ direct exchanges 20+ altcoin exchanges, 100+ merchants. It has a 30 second block time with a reduced orphan blockrate in comparison to Quark which has double the amount of orphan blocks. WDC isn't as fairly distributed as it could be but still has the potential to be unlike other coins which have a short mining period, WDC only has 55m/256m mined so far. Take for example blackcoin which is very very poorly distributed (55.5% top 100 wallets).

The alliance committee has 3 meetings a week with regular updates and the developer team is expanding to help bring out wallet updates etc faster. So think again, Worldcoin has everything but right now is lacking in recognition.

Hi,

I am trying to run the worldcoind daemon but I get constant connection timeouts when trying to connect to the network ?

I have seen that this is a known bug ?

To do with the peers.dat file.

Is there a fix ?

I suggest you post this on the worldcoin forum in 'get help'

This coin is going to crash like hell, so far it has a mobile app. They say they are working on a processor but no proof or updates on this.

If you look at Worldcoin, the android wallet has been funded and there's a payment API in the works, an exchange being developed, there's a crowdfunding site and there's a team of 10+ yet Zetacoin is double the price, has empty social feeds and barely and services that accept it. It's a time bomb waiting to happen and I'm staying far far away from the empty promises.

Where do you see CRASH LIKE HELL HuhHuh?

Because the coin has no foundations, it can't withstand the big flow because there is nothing for anyone to do with the coins lol. It will crash when the majority realize they can't spend their coins on anything. It will go down heavily when BTC falls again.

So I'm confused, on the blackcoin website it says 'Blackcoin regularly has a first confirmation in ten seconds flat.' on this thread it says 1minute blocktime, 10 confirmations which means a 10minute transaction time? where does 10seconds come in.

Indeed. This coin shows signs of stability now. Dev team is probably the strongest out there.
Im owning some wdc myself. I like the blue wallet overall visual style of the coin. Name is also great.
All the mess in the beginning will be soon forgotten and this coin is coing to grow strong.  Smiley

There was quite a mess in the beginning, but now we have strong allies that wish to drive WDC to infinity and beyond.
