Wow, I just noticed the BTC-e dump. Wow, I'm really surprised that it didnt have a larger effect on the price (I have o idea how many Bitcoin were dumped). I really wish I could have gotten some BTC (or fraction of) for $150. Really, I'm optimistic. I hope we're not in for another week of boredom.

Wow, and BTC-e is already back up at $270. Someone might have tried to start a crash (can that been done with 5000 coins?), but we're soldering through!
i'm not sure if it was to start a crash; it may have been just to profit from margin calls on MT4. i don't think the market pays that much attention to BTCE, although it did seem to react to the that crazy spike in April that preceded the rise past $300.
i'm a bit concerned at how few coins it took to get there, though. past cascades like this took a lot more. BTCE seems to be getting pretty illiquid, i guess.

Still, give Greece time to learn about bitcoin, time to welcome new alternatives to purchase bitcoin and time for capital controls on banks to be lifted. Only then will we start to see the link between Greece and bitcoin strengthen. In the meantime watch the price continue to rise as the rest of the world learns about the risk involved when you trust a government with your life savings.

it's not about Greeks buying bitcoin. it's about the western world seeing what a depositor haircut/intensive capital controls looks like. it's about putting the fear of government default at the forefront. this is what could get people interested in bitcoin. and this will hopefully be much bigger than the population of Greece.
I used to. My primary trading was done at 10x futures. However, with all the rumors surrounding Okcoin (bad security protocols, front running their customers, making the market with un-backed accounts) I moved my funds elsewhere.
I have asked them to do a proof of reserves and publish balances managed by them - really hoping they are doing it.
the thing is, how much trust can you put into that? there was a reddit thread recently where the former CTO stated that Okcoin gamed the audit. here's the link:

people have short attention spans, though.

Many would expect new lows, I'm not sure I see that happening, there seems to be a lot of accumulation going on behind the scenes.behind the scenes -- what do you mean? in the OTC market, so supply isn't making its way to exchanges? or do you mean that buyers have formed somewhat of a support block that bears cannot penetrate?

EUR will probably break up and DXY down... Bitcoin? I dont think much will happen.
interesting -- you think Grexit will cause Euro to break to the upside? or you think Grexit will not happen? i agree regarding bitcoin -- i don't think much will happen there. but this could have huge effects on FX and stocks. tough to call, really.

LOL.... pretty good. although i'd say that the "best" way probably means the "safest" way. to the OP's question (old as it is), it really depends on your skills. my best bet personally is to manage my risk in trading bitcoin and forex. it's worked out pretty well so far.

purse.io is really attractive, but i wonder if these claims of law enforcement involvement in these cases are really true. seems a bit over the top. is buying a gift card at a discount really grounds for criminal proceedings? i agree with the person who said, there doesn't seem to be any proof of any wrongdoing there.

the funny thing is that logically, we shouldn't believe anything. the entire scope of human knowledge is tainted by subjective human perception -- meaning that we cannot obtain truth. we can only obtain what we perceive to be true. there can be no objective knowledge.

- you need to be active in the shooting range (at least a dozen times a year)
- you need to take an exam every 5 years
- you need to pay extra tax every 5 years
- your doctor needs to sign a weaver that you are capable of owning a gun
- you need a special cage to store your gun
- you need a signature of every person over 18 years old, living in your house
- certain calibers are just illegal, no normal civillian can own them... Period (it's pretty hard to own a firearm other than caliber 6 and 9 mm)
- the amount of ammunition you can own is limited (i think you can have 10.000 cartridges as a private citizen)
So it's basically almost impossible to own a gun legally (many people own guns illegally tough). However, gun related deaths are pretty low.
EDIT: even after all these thing, the government can change gun controll laws whenever they want. If you stop complying to the new laws, you have to turn in your firearm with the police for free, even when you bought it legally... (this actually happened on two occasions the last couple of years)

this seems overkill. but tbh, i'm torn on the subject. on one hand, i'm generally for minimal government control. on the other hand, i think the pro-gun culture where i live (u.s.a.) is very destructive and contributes to the significantly higher gun violence here than other places.
i don't have a problem with guns, per se. my problem is with the mass of idiots that worship them and believe they are part of their own identity.

I think that Greece is a potential catalyst for another stock market colapse. The market is massively overvalued, and at the point in one of the longest bull runs in history, investors will pull their money at the drop of a hat. And don't forget that interest rates will be rising soon, so get ready for another bungee jump.
a US stock market collapse? my thinking is that Grexit could cause a massive drop in the Euro, and accordingly, strength in the Dollar. that indeed could catalyze a nice drop in the stock market, as money flows back into less risky assets, like treasuries.
Wondering what the general consensus is regarding conjugal visits in prison. The way I see it, these criminals broke the law and it's been determined by a judge or jury that their freedom is to be taken away.
So why let criminals have sex in prison?
Do they let inmates on death row have them? If not. Why not?

i'm pretty much against imprisonment in most forms, so yes, i'd prefer to allow those in captivity the maximum conveniences to better their lives.
i'm not sure they would have much effect on prison rape rates. that subject goes a lot deeper than conjugal visits.
the whole Grexit issue if really interesting, in that it may (or may not be) a pandora's box for other countries to exit the union. on one hand, kicking out Greece may bolster the EU economy and the strength of the Euro by increasing confidence and removing the weakest link. on the other, it will empower anti-austerity parties and suggest to other governments that there may be viable alternatives to the EU.
Well there might not be a marked improvement immediately, but it would help in the long run. It certainly can't hurt. No matter how small a margin of shootings are prevented, it'd be worth it.

well, i suppose a death sentence after two years of waiting may do that. on one hand, he's had quite a lot of time to reflect on the deed. on the other, he might have a hopeless dream of future leniency.
