The new home for a few months for these miners.
..

Very impressive setup!  Can I ask what your electricity is?  I'm just seeing some gear that makes me wonder if you have a great price Smiley

Electricity Charge: $0.0235/kWh
Electricity Demand $9.00

and yeah all the gear at this DC is outdated but we leave it running just for the hell of it (Took the time to set it up ages ago, might as well use it Grin )

Any reason you're using ATX power supplies instead of cheaper and stable Server Power supplies? Plenty of breakout boards available and could save a bit on set up cost.

I mainly use Server PSU's but the efficiency on most (unless you get super fancy ones[new IBM PSU's]) is rather low. Some ATX have fairly good efficiency rates. I just happen to have a lot of EVGA G2 1300 SuperNovas laying around so I use em, dont got 20 PC's to put em into Grin

But yeah we have hundreds of break out boards and server PSU's. You can see them being used in the picture you replied to Smiley

when setting the miners up we made a server so I didnt have to reconfig the miners I moved over their; seemed like a great idea at first and it worked just fine for a day and a half; then a bad thunderstorm came yesterday and hit the DC and we lost power 2x maybe 5 minutes apart and it corrupted the HD we had the server on lol. So ended up going back down their and just throwing em on the same network as the other miners. Bit of a mess to clean up, but all is good now and seems fairly stable so as far as im concerned; Mission COMPLETE!

Hey Acid the reason imgur reduces your picture quality is because its file size is larger than 1MB. If you can reduce it to below 1MB before you upload it the quality should stay the same Smiley.

Yeah I just recently started using it to actually share some public photos and just an hour ago I looked at the settings and it was defaulted to dumb down the quality; unchecked that shit Grin
Lets see if I can reupload the LED ones again in better quality!

-edit
I looked at them again from PC and it looked like I just took some blurry pictures originally lol, granted imgur made it worse but these other ones are much better so the ones posted are going to have to do for now lol.

Today I moved some of my miners from one data center to another. About 34 TH or so in hw.
4x S4's
15x SP20's
1x S5
1x S3
3x S1's
Power cables for all
PSU's for all (and some SuperNova G 1300's)
cat5's

It all fit rather perfectly in the trunk of my Volvo lol.

Have you tried any other sites to upload it to?

ive IMG'd imgur before on here when i showed our data center and my personal rigs, not sure why its being a pain now loll. the image a few post above mine is imgur also lol.

I'm not mining really with S3's anymore. Costs more than profits. But they are good heaters.

Thats what my buddy does with his KnC cubes; put em in corners of house to heat it up a little.
For my "at home rig" (some SP20's) I did the same as well. When it was cold; turned them to blow into the house. When it got hot; turn em back to blow out the window again.

Mining is not always profitable. Effort, as you mean "money" into it. Move to another city? That's a huge incur in cost, just slap that onto the negative balance. Home improvements, expensive. More negative numbers you can add to the balance sheet. Lots of people on here have the bitcoin delusion syndrome. No matter what you tell them, prove to them, even if they just paid $800 in an electric bull for one month at home, mining will somehow make them money. I've seen it with lots of folks on here that have drank the kool-aid.

Well knowing what your doing is a big part of investing regardless of what your investing into. I know that I myself have had numerous set backs; $5k in home improvements which I then moved into a tier 2 data center a week after (my pictures are in this thread as well of our new setups) so that money was "Gone". But to counter such a mistake (though I have plenty of funds for these expenses) I played the markets with my coins and did trades that would net $1-3k in profit per trade. I got my arbitrator bot running constantly that makes a nice amount daily aside from the profits from mining. We have two locations (two different states, 2 hour drive to  each location); one in a place where we have to power everything down during peak hours of the day to avoid losing a days worth of profits; and another data center in a place where its .02/kWh and that is most def our money making location. Knowing when to buy and sell gear is also a must..Some people come in blind and spend what they have when really they most likely had no chance of profiting from the beginning. Im happy to say that from mining, and from the improvements we've made and regardless of our E/Bills we still profit with 60% of our earnings every month, Which to me is great.

  • Efficient mining
  • Playing the market
  • Trade Bots
  • Hardware buy/sell management
  • Sticking to what you know and not venturing out on gambles

These....these have been key in our success..

Unfortunately, I do not use solar or wind power energeir. the battery packs used in my inverter 8KW to hold for 12 minutes (230v).
1 \ 2 of my miners are rescued by the inverter.

it's a passion for me than money ...

I leave you two to three pictures you will understand ...

For consomation I consumes lots 40A on two phases, but I pay 20% of my consomation because I work at EDF (electricity from France)

BTC     BTC     BTC     Acid Alchamys Bitcoin Mining Expansion     BTC     BTC     BTC

So this is my image story of my Bitcoin Mining Expansion, from mining at home, to another residence; to finally putting all my miners in to the Data Center.
Hope you enjoy and I'll try my best to update it as I go along.

At this point, I had 1 S1 on a CX600 Corsair PSU, instantly I knew it was time to upgrade again.

So I bought some fans to cut the noise out; and some nice PSU's for future expansion.

Corsair Fans front and back

Getting a bit creative with push and pulls through fans.

Then came the S3's

Cheers! To a small at home farm..but it wasnt enough...

So after Girlfriend not being to happy with the heat from the office..it was time to relocate the miners. The 3 S1's are in another room.

My first S4.

Tried out some new hardware...wasnt pleased Sad

So now...I moved into the Data Center

The S4's

I wasn't going to give up on the S1's <3 but I did purchase some S5's

Saw the 15x SP20 deal from Spondoolies, figured; Why not buy some?

240 Tons of AC and all our racks are APC, used old Fiber boxes to hold my PSU's

I currently rent a nice amount of hash for the sake of the pool; and am also currently hoarding Bitcoin until some new gear comes out.

nice ''setup'' Tongue the picture of the switches is the best!

having the balls to still run s1....

how are the af120 fans, besides blingbling?

af120's were nice. Super quiet; nice air flow, would use 8-10 Fans and couldnt really hear them at all. Now I have some of them rigged on my desk through front I/O port of PC so they face me, nice cool breeze while I sit at PC and again, very quiet.

My main concern when switching the fans was the temp changing a lot on the S1's but they only went up 1-2'C which I was fine with considering the substantial amount of sound reduction that came from the swap.

Amusingly, pictured above was my initial BTC setup. Things have snowballed a bit over the years. I decided to do some comparison photos because I'm moving out of my house at the end of the month after living here for seven plus years. Things as they are right now:

Super safe power setup. Nails + zip ties...

Regardless of where I end up moving the setup will be coming along.

Enjoy,

Its hard to tell from the photos. But are those S4+ ?

Yup sure are, one of our friends has I think 18 or 22 of them I believe, might snap some more pictures today for you guys Smiley
Semi-hard to get good pics of full racks sense there is only maybe 3-4'Ft between each row of APC Server Cabinets.

Got myself AntMiner S5 a month ago. After a month of playing with it and some 3D printing this is what my small rig currently looks like (just ordered the second S5)
You should know that shipping price of each S5 is lower if you order 2 units at once...

Who says he bought em from Bitmain? Grin

Got myself AntMiner S5 a month ago. I was surprised how bad cooling solution it has. Loud fan, bad heatsink design and a lot of air not even going through the heatsinks. After a month of playing with it and some 3D printing this is what my small rig currently looks like (just ordered the second S5):

Awesome mining bot!!

Put some arms to complete it Wink

Yeah, this is so cool. I think you should sell a service for designing a unique mining rig, there would be so many people will use your service Cheesy

THANKS! Now hes not gonna give us the file!!  Grin  Wink  Grin
