Hi Guys,

I have a Blizzard which died (Zeus have already sent me a replacement), essentially it doesn't get detected by any COM Port on any machine. There is no smell and no visible burn sign of any kind. I have tried connecting to a PI as well but it also won't detect.

Any other options you guys can think of?

Yes. The smell come from within the miner. Cry Cry Cry

No visible damage to me.

It's a very normal setting
--zeus-cc 6 --zeus-rc 300 --zeus-cg --zeus-clk 340 -S zeus:\\.\COM4 --no-submit-stale

Is it Zeus or GAW? You seem to have a legitimate case for warranty replacement.

I also just had one of my zeus blizzards die (no smell just wont detect on any com port on any computer). Emailed tree@zeusminer.com with details.  Im hoping its not going to be 7x days in email back and forth before they send out a replacement which will likely take another 7x days to arrive  Cry
Was running it under spec as it has always been an under performing miner so was only at 300 cl and no mods.

Great work Slix and Batman  Wink will test around after work..I appreciated as a windows user Grin

Can u give us a example of a working config with pools and profiles?

Fans still fucking start at 100%...

And a new fucking record for SICK -> DEAD, uptime of 3.5 minutes

I had the Fan issue. Fixed it by removing "auto-fan":true and "auto-gpu": true from config and changing
"gpu-fan": "0-95" to"0-0"

guys,
how do you enable the auto algo switching mode ?
if i launch the miner it goes to the first server in the list
(i've got 2: on X13  and one X11 on  trade my bit)
it's not choosen on the profitability but in the order in the .conf
Ports need to be 4xxx for switching

Yep, it's undoubtedly broke.  I'm going to stick to 1 algorithm since it seems Scrypt and N-Scrypt are neck-to-neck right now.
Yup i'm with you. Ill go back to standard mining until NiceHash Guys start posting what they are doing to address these issues

Again ... about 6 Hours ago. N-Scrypt running well the last 15 Hours, then in the Night it switched to X13 and again back to N-Scrypt. 5 of my GPUs go off and 1 got the turn and was running well in the right speed Sad

Any solution for this? Missing 6 Hours every Day hurts.
I use sgminer-5.0-pre-release-2014-06-11
That looks like my situation, but my 270x not stoped but started mine with very slow speed (20k instead of 230k). In the same time other rig with 280x switched without problems.
Distinctions in configs are:
270x config:
Code:
"pool-gpu-threads" : "2",
"pool-rawintensity": "5120",
"pool-thread-concurrency" : "6336"
280x config just define:
Code:
"pool-intensity" : "13"
this options defined in general part of 280x config (not pool part):
Code:
"gpu-threads" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "8192",
I think there is a problem with pool-gpu-threads and pool-thread-concurrency options - they dont work right according to my observations. On windows miner just crash if I even define same pool-gpu-threads for all pools. On linux (bamt) it works but with bugs

I had the same problem with 2x of my rigs dropping out when autoswitching,. On one of the rigs the GPU reported dead and the other rig wasn't hashing. Only thing is I don't have either pool-gpu-threads or pool-thread-concurrency in my pool section.
I have since changed the "failover-switch-delay"  from 30 to 60 to see if that makes a difference during the autoswitch

Yep, this version doesn't work right with NScrypt and 14.1 drivers.

Here's the same config with 13.12 drivers.  Still not ideal, but better.

Yeah I'm on 13.12 drivers and I refuse to upgrade.  You might need to start looking at different TC's to tweak the speed.  I've seen a number of 290 configs using TC 32765

I used to have 24550 on my 290's, but the 2% rejects started to bother me regardless of how great the hashrate was.  I changed it to 25600 and now my reject % is below .5%.

Hey guys are you talking about the AMD Catalyst Drivers?  i'm a late scrypt-n adopter, haven't mined it outside of this multipool setup on nicehash
Thanks

Adz does that setting always crash on Windows? Or just in some special circumstances?
I have found that       "pool-gpu-threads": "2"    under Windows
Will always cause sgminer to exit after 60sec

I can't even get this to start on windows7 x64. Starts..then closes no errors..no nothing. And trust me I have run A LOT of different cg/sgminer variations with countless kernels at this point without any problem.

Are you by any chance running it with cgwatcher? If yes start first time with batch file, than you can use cgwatcher.. don't know why Smiley

this was listed in the thread earlier

remove this code from your pool entries:

Code:
            "pool-gpu-threads": "2"

I can get NiceHash_Scrypt to work but only on port :3333
Any thoughts

Why is your memclock so low? 900 is pretty low even for the lowest end cards out there, you may need to raise that to something between 1200 & 1600 or so depending on your GPU

I wouldn't have thought memclock would have any baring on why the pools are all failing over? But as you asked I do have 5x low end GPUs connected (I don't have to pay power cost so running on separate machines) they are all HD 7700's. Setting the memclock to anything higher than 900 makes the rig unstable and pretty much reboots itself.

Happens constantly have tried over a few days and still no good on this front the only pool that works is the 'NiceHash_Scrypt' when I set it to port 3333

The only way I can see a low memclock setting would disable pools is if there was no work for the GPU's to do, and there is a setting somehwere to disable pools that dont have any work.  If you're connecting to a pool with a high diff, you wont get much work.  In your case, all the pools look dead, which when happened to me, happened because of a temp ban from too many rejected shares.  Not sure if stale shares would do it also, but a slow rig on a high diff pool might have more stale shares submitted and *might* cause it to be temp banned.

As for your rig becoming unstable, its because your intensity setting is too high if you have a 7750. Set it to 11.  If you have a 7770, your thread concurrency is wrong,.. set it to 8000.

Instead of me going through every possible tweak of the 7700 family cards, what model GPU do you have... I'll see if i can spot what it is in your config that is making them unstable

The Dead pools happen as soon as sgminer loads, not even enough chance to try and send anything. I have left them several hours in between attempts but same thing.

Thanks for the help mannyg. The 5x GPU's are made up of 2 separate model 7750's as below.
2x Sapphire HD 7750 2GB GDDR3 http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1159&pid=1682&lid=1
3x Gigabyte GV-R775OC-2GI http://www.gigabyte.com.au/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4345#ov

I'll give it a go setting intensity to 11 and raising the clock, let me know what you can figure out about the thread concurrency as I swear I had looked into this 6x months ago when I initially set them up and had it right...
Thanks again

this now switches and uses the correct algorithm, but does not change any of the gpu settings such as intensity or engine. any ideas?

EDIT: it will change the intensity and gpu engine if you use the "pool-gpu-engine" and "pool-intensity" paramters instead of "gpu-engine" and "intesnity". does not set the intensity correctly when opening (sets it to Cool unless you switch to another pool and then switch back. setmemclock error listed, but i have my memory set to the same speed for all anyway so i shouldn't need that. after a couple of minutes the miner shuts down and displays a summary of works.

I have this same problem where sgminer shuts down and displays a summary of works. happens every time after 60seconds
Does anyone else have this issue - my code is below - have validated against http://jsonlint.com/ with no problems reported

I had not mined much on ipominer so have only been impacted by about 24hrs of loss.
I agree with the need to rectify the loss. i think it is more the approach that has taken everyone by surprise e.g. seeing a negative account balance with no warning.
perhaps in future a warning email or post would help soften the blow.
ipominer is a great pool, and has shown some good profits
