I received the very same error message so I wanted to know what's the new rule that got activated?
It's been there since i got into veil. I think it's something to do with them testing a fork on testnet.

It's a good time to buy. Mining difficulty is about the same, staking difficulty has sky rocketed.

What is the faster miner for VEIL right now ?

I think all miners are somewhat the same with little to no speed difference. I have been using suprminer for a while now to mine Veil.
The new t-rex version gave me a little hashrate boost, but not much. It's probably no more than a quarter or a half of a megahash. The contributing factor to how much you can mine is what card you are mining with. The fastest card is probably a 2080ti, or one of the new radeon cards.

What the miner itself reports is one thing, personally I also check what the pools are actually getting when you mine. At the end of the day that is what is important.
The pool calculates your hash rate by how many shares you have; so it isn't going to be spot on with what your miner is saying.

Hi all, can someone tell me about how much needed to get 1 stakes from staking veil? I have been visiting various sites and i don't even get the best answer and is there a staking calculator? I will really appreciate it.
I heard about 13k is needed to get one stake but i still doubt about that.

You can use this staking calculator:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10iN-d6NRX4u5WzNi4lO0S3Ef7euwyuvRv0TANjLPp1E/edit#gid=558845196
Just save it as Excel file on hard drive and enter your Veil Balance.
For me that calculator seems to broken. It might be user error, but I can't get it to work properly

We have just pushed a wallet update (v1.1.2) this update is not mandatory and does not effect day to day functions.
The update is mainly for preperation for the launch of Zyop on the testnet. A full change log can be found below.

Masternodes also do not need to update, or can do so in their own time.

Change log;

  • Extra Testnet/Mainnet seeds
  • Added checkpoints
  • Updated min chainwork and assume valid blocks
  • Added base structure for Zyop

More information will be coming over the next few days on how/when and what we would like tested when Zyop is active on the testnet.
you should add a release on github, or a pre-release with compiled binaries for us on windows  Grin

The minimum amount of veil basecoin you need is 10.

Yesterday I have got around 150 Veils onto bv address of 1.0.3.0 wallet. At the time of receiving the last was in locked state  but when I unlocked the wallet it has automatically sent    part of them from bv to Zerocoin container. Is that  some kind of flaw? From where I sit... the wallet must do such things in a manual mode but not automatically.
I believe you have automint on. Automint tells the wallet to mint the selected amount of coins whenever it can.

Automint means wallet mints coins if Zerocoin container is not empty, I think, and coins where not selected.Regardless, the question is why the wallet  sent coins to that container automatically. BTW, how to turn off automint?  It seems the staking toggle doesn't react when I click on it.

This is from the faq section from the wallet

How long/how many basecoin do I need to begin receiving zerocoin? I currently have 2 and I don't think it's doing anything.

I found it. I didn't even know about the snapshots. My wallet seems to shut down after a few hours, and I'm not sure why.

Is it just me, or is the client syncing VERY slowly?
nope. me as well.
veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy slowwwwwwwwwwwwwlyyyyyyyyy

Hi;

It is very slow and "rescanblockchain" slow too.
I try to mint 595 approved 10 basecoin to zerocoin, than I receive "insufficient basecoin" message. This is new.

Kind regards

Where do I find the snapshot? I don't see it on their github.
