Re: How to value bitcoin and cryptocurrencies?
by
Aikidoka
on 01/11/2023, 15:44:17 UTC
When it comes to Bitcoin, its price is mostly dependent on the buying and selling of it. If people buy more Bitcoin than they sell, then Bitcoin's price will increase and it's the opposite in the other case.

That's how the crypto market works. In addition to that, there are third-party factors that could affect Bitcoin's price, such as wars or significant world announcements related to Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general, as well as events like the halving as far as I know.

Re: Bitcoin in the last 5 years compare to now

The huge increase in Bitcoin's price was somewhat expected, at least for me. I knew that it would happen if there were no major issues that would cause Bitcoin to break. Everything has gone smoothly so far and this is how it should be progressing. From 2017 to now, we've witnessed significant volatility in Bitcoin's price, ranging from $4k to $69k which is quite normal.

Now at this current time, Bitcoin is almost at $35k which is an incredibly high price, and I didn't expect it to reach this level especially this year. It might even reach around $40k by December, who knows?

I have faith in Bitcoin and believe it will continue to grow next year, especially after the halving.

Re: Bitcoin gift to wife.
by

I don't have a wife yet, so I can't answer your question but if I do get a wife I would let her know about my Bitcoin holdings. However, I would keep my Bitcoin securely stored for myself because I don't trust anyone else to maintain the same level of security as I currently do. So essentially I'd share all the information with her and gradually teach her how to use Bitcoin and how to keep it secure. I'd also inform her where I store my seed phrase when I'm ready to.

Actually it's really risky to do that and it's advisable to share your Bitcoin seed phrase only with a person you trust the most, someone you are sure that won't attempt to steal your funds. Alternatively, you might opt to keep the seed phrase entirely to yourself to avoid getting your money stolen.

Re: Some gambling questions.
by

How many percent of signature earnings you gamble away?
I typically allocate around 5-10% of my earnings or sometimes even a bit less for gambling. I don't use a big portion of my income from my signature to engage in gambling, instead, I mainly use the money I earn from my regular job to gamble at irl casinos. I prefer to hold onto my Bitcoin and use my fiat currency for gambling.

Do you prefer Fiat or crypto at a display currency?
I prefer gambling with crypto because it's much easier and more enjoyable. However, most of the time I end up gambling with fiat at real casinos because they don't accept crypto.

What is your favorite game you play all the time?
I enjoy football and sometimes I engage in other types of sports as well. I rarely play dice or any other form of gambling that relies purely on luck because I prefer not to wager my money on games that are primarily luck-based.

What is your favorite casino platform?
I use a lot of gambling site as Bitcasino.

Are you a responsible gambler?
Yes but I'm not an addicted gambler. However, I do bet quite a bit especially when there are exciting football matches to wager on, such as the UEFA Champions League or my country's top football league (1ère league).

Re: Do you ever feel tired of waiting?
by
Aikidoka
on 16/10/2023, 17:36:42 UTC
waiting's not even the hardest part of investing in the cryptocurrency world, let alone bitcoin. I don't get tired of waiting especially since I time my buys and I don't just hold without a care in the world (not that holding and buying cryptocurrencies now is a bad thing, it's all a matter of preference really.) Waiting for the bull run to arrive is the easiest part of the whole calabash, you don't have to time things, you don't have to wrack your brains out wondering if you've bought enough, you don't need to go back and study shit just to maximize your profit potential. So if you're getting tired of waiting you gotta do something about it, make use of the time you're idly waiting for while bitcoin is gaining momentum.
As you mentioned, it's not difficult to wait for Bitcoin's price to increase because there is nothing to lose while waiting. It's a known fact that, in the end Bitcoin is likely to make a huge profit sooner or later.

I know that it's really hard for some long-term holders to remain patient but those who have already made a huge profits through Bitcoin are typically not perturbed. They knows already that they are not losing anything and they are confident that they will continue to profit in the future.

Re: A Nigerian Father Rejects Son's Gambling Win
by
Aikidoka
on 16/10/2023, 17:08:35 UTC
Looks like the father knows the consequences of his son's action and he just wants to guide him no matter what the scenario is, we don't appreciate this kind of love from our parents until they are no longer here with us and by that time we realize that no one has ever been truthful to us except them. He should always listen to his father and learn to be contented in his life since they all have the means to survive. If he accepted it, I'm sure it won't be the last time the son does it and until the whole family is addicted to it.
I think the father didn't like the idea of money coming into his life through his son's gambling, especially if he holds strong religious and Islamic beliefs. Easy money obtained through luck might be something he wishes to avoid in his household. Additionally it could be a wise decision to prevent any potential addiction issues from developing in his son's future as he becomes into gambling.

Personally, I have friends who are gamblers and have been losing alot, they are slowly falling into the trap of addiction, despite my efforts to advise them to reduce their gambling activities. Unfortunately, they don't seem to heed my advice. :/ but I'll keep trying with them to get off it.

Re: More secure ways of storing bitcoin?
by
Aikidoka
on 16/10/2023, 15:12:32 UTC
I believe the best way to store Bitcoin is by keeping it offline. This involves using a hardware wallet or an air-gapped device and making sure that you store your seed phrase on a piece of paper that only you have access to.

Another secure option is to use a multi-signature wallet. This method requires three seed phrases to access the wallet, which makes it highly secure. If you're holding a huge amount of money with friends, this method can be a good choice.

Pillow Fight League isn't that bad to watch and bet on as I've never tried that before, it could be really interesting and I'd like to see how it goes. Maybe in the future, I'll consider betting on and watching pillow fights. It could be a lot of fun to watch.

I've seen some videos on YouTube, and it's really cool and entertaining. To be honest it's the first time I've come across something like this and I thought that there's not tournaments like this.

Re: Will you gamble till old age or not
by
Aikidoka
on 04/10/2023, 19:18:26 UTC
I will answer first.
I will love to quit gambling when I am 42yrs because I don't want to give gambling much time and I will prefer to look for an alternative means to have fun.
Why do you want to quit at the age of 42 years? Is there a specific reason for that? Personally, I don't plan to quit gambling as long as I'm enjoying it. Even if I'm relatively old, I still find gambling to be a fun hobby and a form of entertainment.

IMHO It doesn't matter how old you are; if you can afford it responsibly you can continue to gamble for many years.Smiley)

For tonight, I'm going to watch AC Milan vs Borussia Dortmund. I think it will be a great game and can't wait to see how it'll end. I'm a long-time Milan fan, so I'm hoping Milan will win this game but BVB could be in good form today and could also win. It's going to be a hard match for both teams and I believe it will be an exciting game to watch with friends while I enjoy a cup of coffee.

Enjoy your bets and watching the games fellas!

Re: Bitcoin volatility
by
Aikidoka
on 04/10/2023, 18:03:44 UTC
The volatility of Bitcoin's price this year isn't as high as in past years as the OP mentioned, and I think it will remain this way until the end of the year. I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing for Bitcoin, but I do like this stability and I'm looking forward to the next bull market in a few years. I believe it will happen somehow after the halving in 2024.

The reason why Bitcoin isn't as volatile this year is probably due to many people engaging in long-term investments and we haven't seen as many transactions recently compared to the past years.

Re: How was your first experience with gambling?
by
Aikidoka
on 04/10/2023, 17:18:32 UTC
My first experience with gambling wasn't that bad to be honest. I remember winning a huge amount of money during my initial bets and my friends jokingly called it 'the beginner's luck.' It was unexpected but I managed to win around $2k by placing bets on multiple football games over the weekend including some from the UEFA Champions League.

I was so happy with my win and that marked the beginning of my gambling journey. However, I did experience quite a few losses afterward. Eventually, I decided to step back and not think about it too much and nowadays, I play for fun and don't invest a a lot of f money into it.

I totally agree with what you're saying. It's actually one of the best investments you can make since the price consistently increases significantly. For someone who has faith in Bitcoin and holds it for a long time, I'm confident that one day they will profit a lot. I'm really happy to see people who have as much faith in Bitcoin as I do.

I can't wait for Bitcoin's new ATH and it might reach a substantial price, possibly exceeding $100k in a few years. It's an incredible opportunity for the new generation especially if you hold Bitcoin now and teach your kids how to use it in the future.

Re: Stop discouraging people from Bitcoin...
by

on 03/10/2023, 15:47:38 UTC
I've noticed that in some posts but most of the members here are trying to encourage newbies when they seek help or more information on how to start their Bitcoin trading journey.

All of us here began with low knowledge initially, and as days went by, we gained experience and learned a lot of things. The same thing will happen to newbies in this forum and we should respect and encourage them rather than discouraging them. The only time a newbie's post receives negative responses is when the information they're asking for or the reviews are readily available on the internet and can be found with a simple search. Nevertheless we should support them and lend a helping hand at the beginning of their journey. Smiley)

True, IMO gambling should be pursued purely for entertainment and not as a financial investment because it's highly risky, and you can lose a lot of amount of money very quickly. It's better to see it as a way to have fun and to set strict budget limits.

I'm pretty sure you'll need the money you might spend on gambling someday so you have to think twice before gambling.

Re: Will Bitcoin be accepted as a dominant currency in the future?
by
Aikidoka
on 02/10/2023, 17:19:32 UTC
The popularity of Bitcoin in the future will most likely increase and there will be more adopters compared to today. However the increasing popularity of Bitcoin will probably be a problem for governments because it will disrupt the distribution of fiat and it is likely that the majority of governments will not allow Bitcoin to become more popular. So I think whether Bitcoin will become the dominant currency in the future is quite unlikely because government regulations are increasingly strict. Moreover, until now most people treat Bitcoin like an investment instrument, so even though the adoption of Bitcoin is increasing it is not because Bitcoin is a currency, but an investment instrument with a good ROI.
Yes, that's correct. Governments may not welcome the dominance of Bitcoin in the future because it would lead to a large number of people using Bitcoin instead of their local currency, which is not advantageous for the country. They definitely don't trust Bitcoin as we do, so it would be quite hard for this scenario to happened, although it's not impossible.

I believe that Bitcoin adoption would be insane in the future and the community will grow a lot as Bitcoin's price increases once again and reaches a new peak imho.

Re: Casino is a Games of Chance and Entertainment
by

on 02/10/2023, 16:40:03 UTC
There are luck-based games and skill-based games but it  doesnt o guarantee that if you are a master of that game you will win easily. It is still about luck as even those professional gamblers still lose but they just know how to control their emotions.
Exactly, even pros lose games when it comes to gambling because it's something that no one can control. You wouldn't have a 100% correct prediction, never. But there's a way to maximize your chances of winning and that's to gamble wisely. After gaining a lot of experience, you'll have a good understanding of when to gamble and which games to choose for your bets.

Having fun should be the main reason why we gamble but the problem right now is that they are going to use it as a source of income which is why they are chasing losses so that they can earn money on that day and also which also leads to more time spent gambling and lead to addiction.
When gamblers fall into addiction, the situation can worsen leading to various troubles, especially financial problems. Therefore, everyone should control themselves and gamble for fun if they want to save their money. Smiley)

Re: Invest in bitcoin and forget the investment
by
Aikidoka
on 02/10/2023, 16:26:24 UTC
I would not recommend to forget any kind of investment.  This is one of the reason why many people missed out on profit in altcoin.  Although Bitcoin is believed to be ever rallying even with dips, it still ends up breaking its ATH, forgetting our Bitcoin investment may make us not to remember it.  Instead, we should be firm with our beliefs and keep on holding while we keep ourselves updated on current events.  We never know what the future of Bitcoin is, so the possibility of the Bitcoin market crashing and never recovering may happen.  If this happens we will end up missing the opportunity to sell at a profit.
Investing in altcoins could be really good for the short term. However, if you're looking to invest for the long term with the potential for higher profits, the right thing to do is to invest in Bitcoin and just wait. I believe that Bitcoin's price will increase a lot in the future and reach a new ATH in the next few years, probably 1-2 years after the halving. I do recommend investing in both, for the long term when it comes to Bitcoin and for the short term when it comes to investing in altcoins. Smiley
