Re: [SUPPORT] CoinMine.pl Pools Support Thread

Am a long time miner and have been with coinmine.pl since the beginning (you were one of the first ZEC pools and commanded a high global hash rate in the early days). I have recommended you to many of my friends.

I understand the concept of luck, and that pools require constant maintenance to run optimally.

Let us take the last month to provide a good aggregate versus say suprnova:

Coinmine.pl

Suprnova

101 blocks versus 616? thats too long a time span for a blip of bad luck.

coinmine.pl has a healthy amount of shares in that time too (3.5x  versus suprnova) so plenty of hash power there.

Either something fishy is going on, the pool is being scammed, or is in a poor state of maintenance (we've has some outages recently)

I cant go on with this and will have to move (after a long time with you) I wouldn't recommend anyone mine with you until this is sorted.

Yeah I'm not blaming 12.4, sometimes just disturbing a rig can have affects  Huh

12.4 has made 1 of my 5 rigs less stable than before, I was on a 300+ hour running streak before the upgrade too!

I have to use v8.0 on some rigs due to the power surge issue, I'd like to use SSL as the reported hash rate is better, but v8.0 doesn't support SSL. Any ideas?

Anyone knows why my GPU 0 is about 20H/S faster than my other gpus?
GPU 0 pushes ~ 230 H/S! Other GPU's ~ 210 H/S

All cards are Rx 480 Nitro+

210 H/s is not bad but why is GPU 0 so high??

coudl be luck of manufacture>? better quality die etc on that card

My rom is 188 h\s with 79Watts from the GPUz.

mines a stock 480 its the 8GB "OC" variant though

What were your hashrates (average) with the default intensity, 4 I guess?

Trying to see if higher intensity is worth it, since I use my computer while mining. But I'll prob give it a try and see if it's stable at -i 5.

didn't test -i 4, but -i 6 always output a random card to 0

This is the quote I was refering to:

"Memory bandwidth:

RX480: 256 GB/s
390X: 384 GB/s

ZEC uses a lot of memory operations. Do you still think that RX480 can work as fast as 390X?"

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1679855 seems to indicate more performance could be possible with an 8GB card

i want back to time when claymore didnt release optimized old card, this is ruined zec mining, all those new card stuck like hell
except the nano's hash rate is pretty amazing with low power cunsumption 205 h/s / 80 watt
RX series 90 watt at 0.9v core doing 160hs

Nano's FTW!

Edit: I've seen mention of assessing your GPUs ASIC quality, how do you tell? GPUz? or just the hash rate?

Claymore Sir!

Some suggestions for your consideration:

1. Having a directory called "Remote Manager" isn't as smart as "Remote_Manager" or "RemoteManager" from a file-path-in-DOS point of view
2. Could we have some sort of debug option for identifying GPUs? I know the indexing can be iffy, if one GPU is under-performing or outright not working, it may be handy to identify the physical GPU. (at the moment I simply set the fan speed of that GPU to high - perhaps you could follow this lead? or have a better idea?)

thanks for the great miner.
Alex

1. Do you start EthMan from command line? Well, just rename the folder if you don't like its name.
2. "-di detect" option is to detect GPU order. "-tt -100,-1" will set fan 100% for first card. "-tt -1,-100,-1" does the same for second card, etc. You can press "0" key in runtime to disable mining on first GPU to find it (it will be cool after some time). I don't have any better ideas, let me know if you do.

1. Sure do! and I do rename it, just cant see the advantage of having a space int eh source .zip.
2. Yeah this is pretty much my workflow, was wondering if you had anything else, perhaps pulsing the target GPU fan on a keypress?

In some of my rigs with identical cards I've seen the motherboard affect the hashrate...its not always the cards.

Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v3.1

V3.1 stable on all machines except one, which is a 7 card rig. Few minutes in one of the GPU's ( always at index 1) would report 0 sols/s, the watchdog will restart the miner, and "Desplay driver stopped working, has recovered" error pops up, and then the system just crashes.
Some people pointed out that it could be a riser issue, but I've tried isolating the faulty card by running each card on its own thread, and they work fine. Its only if I run one instance of claymore's with all 7 cards that this problem occurs. I've tried moving from modded bios to stock, different driver versions, and this keeps happening still. Any clues?

Does the problem occur if you run the rig without that card (ie as a six card rig instead of a 7)?

Have you tried swapping cards in the risers to see if it still happens in that position or does the problem follow the card?

my 7 card rig is always tricky, are we too ambitious? which mobo you using?

Hi all,

I have 5 x rx 480 8gb sapphire nitro+ oc.
With claymore's zcash v3.1 and I get the following results:
- 700W power usage
- 310H/s
so roughly 62H/s per gpu

Any idea how to improve hashrate and decrease power?
Thanks

-powlim -50

...powlim can go from +50 to -50, for my Nano's I run -powlim -47 and still get 60 per card, 480s still suck atm though

Thanks for that...

What about cvddc and mvddc please? (I have the rx470 8gb card)

Just want to lower the power and keep the sol/s...

Thanks

the voltage is only good if you want to overclock, Claymore notes that underclocking isn't possible.

Be careful though, I really upset one of my 6x480 rigs messing with the voltage!

power versus sol/s is always a trade-off! 700W for 310 is great, you may lose 10-20 total.

To make you jealous one of my Nano R9 rigs puts out 360, pulling 650W, although weirdly that is with the PRO 61BTC board only , the PRO 81 boards dont hash as fast! :/

Does anyone have a restart batch file for the zec miner please as I am unsure on how to achieve this I  have the watchdog set to monitor and trigger a restart but its a bit useless without a restart batch command

if you're on windows, copy a shortcut to the .bat file into the shell:startup folder

.bat file
timeout /t 5
[filepath]\ZecMiner64.exe
