Re: How to spread the word about crypto currencies?

Indeed, I find myself talking about this topic with random people a lot,
but it feels like mass media, at least in germany, is not picking up on the subject at all.

Is my subjective impression wrong or do you think the ignorance is real? If so, any reasons why?

Also, the answer I tend to get most often is something around the lines of "Yeah, I don't really know about it, but I heard it's all a huge bubble"

How would you respond?

How to spread the word about crypto currencies?

In the altcoin forum i saw a question about the best social media platforms to promote an ICO.

Someone stated you can either target a smaller informed audience in more "scene" specific platforms like this forum, or you can try to reach the public on facebook or youtube.

But how can you spread awareness and enthusiasm for cryptocurrencies in general, thus increasing the size of the informed audience?

What are governements and private orgs doing to spread the word or even preventing it from beeing spread?

Re: Do you vape?

i tried to redirect my nicotine addiction to vaping a couple of times, but somehow it seems there is a strong inflammatory reaction by my lungs to something in the vape which isn't nearly as bad when smoking.

(I'm not referring to the initial coughing many smokers experience when vaping for the first time, I am referring to a nasty, long lasting burning sensation of my lungs and occasional dry coughs)

recently I discovered "snus", a swedish oral tobacco product which comes in small pouches, which reduce the mess of chewing tobacco.

It provides a nice, long lasting nicotinic effect without 99% percent of the risks of smoking. it's also pretty descrete and opposed to vaping it is not regulated by airlines.

i recommend you to give it a shot, there is good manufacturers in the US aswell.

very interesting thread, though it seems to be dead for a long time...

i would like to ask OP to reevaluate on his/her ten years prognosis.
are whe on the way yet? or might the whole process take way longer or even happen very subtly, with banks and elites already embracing the technology while the public is still mostly clueless.

thanks in advance!

Re: Best movies you have watched in 2017?

Arrival! I know it was released in 2016, but very late in the year and it really stuck with me ever since.

The premise is just so exciting, and like crypto technology its not about guns changing the world(s), but communication.
The idea of the film goes something like this:

ok, so the aliens are here, but they are actually NOT trying to take over the world, but are trying to communicate.
A scenario for which presidents and generals around the world are not prepared for.

Besides epic shots of giant beatiful monolithic space ships and crazy aliens, it also offers a completely unique view on the subjects of extra- and intra terrestrical ways of thinking through the scope of linguistics.

Really guys, go watch that movie! Its good.

Re: Impact of drinking alcohol.

alcohol is a potent social catalyst, which is the reason for its strong standing in todays culture.

but you have to remember that the working mechanism of alcohol on the brain function is not a very subtle one.

while other drugs seem to tweak and manipulate certain pathways in the brain, alcohol works more like a full force blow to the engine, shutting down the function of different brain areas.

Depending on your genetic makeup, the neurotoxicity of alcohol can have cascade of negative consequences, leading to Alzheimer and other neurogenerative diseases.

Just a couple studys to think about:
