Diversification is a protection against ignorance

Warren Buffet said "Diversification is a protection against ignorance," I'm all on on bitcoin!
Bitcoin is the best performing asset in the past 10 years. There's no point in diversifying any further when you understand and believe in the future of bitcoin. Big gains still to come!

Re: How do we not run out if bitcoin eventually
by

Bitcoin will never be useless as there's too many people who won't abandon it. Supply and demand is everything and as the demand fluctuates up and down (but generally more up than down), the supply never grows, even dwindling at times when coins are lost. Some people can't seem to wrap their head around this. Bitcoin isn't meant for everyday purchases. It's a hedge against inflation. It doesn't need to be an everyday currency to succeed.

Mass Influx of Bitcoin Miners are Coming to Texas
by
Alfredufll
on 26/06/2021, 06:19:42 UTC
The Chinese government's call to crack down on bitcoin mining and trading has triggered a phenomenon known as "mining migration" in the encryption circle.
Texas in the United States is an ideal destination for miners, thanks to its abundant solar and wind resources, an unregulated market, and a political stance friendly to cryptocurrency.
Despite the lack of energy reserves that led to power outages for several days last winter, Texas has one of the lowest energy prices in the world, and its share of renewable energy is growing, with 20% of the state's electricity coming from wind as of 2019. It has a loosely regulated grid that allows customers to choose between power suppliers and, most importantly, its political leaders are very supportive of encryption - the ideal condition for a miner to find a popular and cheap source of energy.

Re: Why is moving mining out of China a bad thing?

This criticism includes the fact that China "owns" most of the hashrate and therefore controls bitcoin with the threat of shutting down the network or confiscation of coins.  For BTC, it’s going to cause short term price pain as Chinese miners liquidate assets to comply with regulations and migrate mining equipment elsewhere.

El Salvador uses volcanic renewable energy for mining
by

on 24/06/2021, 06:19:18 UTC
The President of El Salvador shared a plan of Bitcoin mining powered by volcanic renewable energy currently under construction in the country. El Salvador is about to get a clean hash rate.El Salvador has 23 active volcanoes, and the thermal energy beneath the surface can generate powerful steam that can generate electricity. Despite being the smallest country in Central America, El Salvador is one of the largest producers of geothermal energy in the world. In fact, geothermal power stations account for a quarter of the country's total power generation. In the future, this tropical country may attract miners from all over the world to mine.

Re: How do convince someone to keep crypto in a hard wallet?
by
Alfredufll
on 22/06/2021, 02:42:49 UTC
The hardware wallet does not store Bitcoin. Bitcoin is stored on the blockchain and is of course decentralized, and all nodes participating on the Bitcoin network agree, trust, and enforce the protocol.
The hardware wallet stores your public key which is used to sign your transactions. When you first setup your hardware wallet, you can generate a recovery seed. This seed is what you’ll want to safeguard. If you have a fire that destroys your hardware wallet, you can always get a compatible replacement hardware wallet and use that recovery seed to restore your wallet to it. Keep your seed separate from your wallet, and potentially store redundant backups of that seed in separate trusted geographical locations to optimize security.

Re: No One Can Shut Down Bitcoin
by

We only have to look at the countless examples of people in countries where Bitcoin is banned to see people continue using it. Or we could simply look to the decentralized P2P file-sharing network, BitTorrent, which continues to thrive despite it being illegal in many places. The other factor is there'd need to be a global, unified ban, which is unlikely, so there will always be regulatory. Bitcoin the network and protocol are near impossible to stop.

Hopefully they kept their bitcoins instead of exchanging for fiat, but might be hard of them to do considering how expensive it is to run a restaurant

Re: Why do many people who do not understand Bitcoin slander Bitcoin?
by
Alfredufll
on 16/06/2021, 07:10:56 UTC
Many people are not really ignorant, but because the essence of Bitcoin is the decentralization of currency, which touches the interests of too many people, so that as long as the price of Bitcoin rises, it is said to be a bubble, as long as the price falls, it is said to be a bubble burst. , Bitcoin price fluctuations are a response to changes in people's consumption preferences and time preferences.

Bitcoin has created a new way to connect all parties involved in financial services, improve data security, and control the risk of the wall. Bitcoin's underlying technology, the blockchain, is being actively studied by all parties. Bitcoin is the first application of blockchain technology and the most successful application so far. Blocking Bitcoin will inevitably affect the development of blockchain.

Re: Is Bitcoin antifragile?
by

on 02/06/2021, 01:02:03 UTC
Bitcoin grows is by proving itself capable of adapting to and surviving attacks. Many corporations and institutions are beginning to store their wealth in Bitcoin precisely for this reason. They once expected Bitcoin to die. In fact many of them expected it to die because they tried to kill it by preventing their customers from accessing it. They now see that this strategy only hurt themselves, not Bitcoin.

Many people who have no wealth and freedom do not have to buy Bitcoin, but they did not hold onto it. Those who hold it are often that no matter how severe price fluctuations they face, they are always fearless, but in the end they can enjoy the highest returns in the big cycle.

Re: Anybody else feel relieved this dip finally happened?
by

Yes and no. Was looking at potentially pulling some money out to help with moving out, dental bills, etc etc... and now a dip happens literally a week or so before I was planning on doing it. So I'm left with a "well fuck me" moment because if I pull some out now it's only going to be losing value more than when I was previously planning.

If I had money to spare to buy in, sure, great, awesome...

Same here! Bought the dip and it's already up by 12%, almost a week's worth of my salary, amazing.

I'll hold until it's worth a years salary lol
then hold more, and even buy more with your spare pocket money instead of buying that new "XBox One X 1 i whole" in 2022

Re: Is it smart to get a loan to buy bitcoin?
by

It's up to yourself. But in my opinion loan's should only be there to either buy a large purchase. Or to pay off rent or bills. It's very risky. The question is. Could you still pay back the loan if bitcoin crashed?

Does anybody have tips for sleeping?
by
Alfredufll
on 15/03/2021, 07:48:51 UTC
My sleep schedule has been getting worse, I have big tests this whole month and my sleep has been getting bad. When I started to sleep late it was like 1am or 01:30am or something like that. But know it's 2am - 3am and I can't sleep early because I'm so used to sleeping late, my eyes feel so tired but I can't fall asleep. So any tips? ( I wake up at 7am to get ready, so I usually sleep for like 5-4 hours mostly 4 and 45 minutes ( not exactly but pretty close).

I don't know if it's important to say this but it's exactly 01:45 right now.
