We're aiming to allow any creative type use Dallar for any purpose. Right now we're focusing on getting our Twitch Bot up and running, so that those who stream art or game dev (but really anyone can add it) can have a way for their audience to give each other Dallar, even synchronized across all channels.

We already have a Dallar Discord Bot which you can add to your Discord server right now, which allows users to give each other Dallar through Discord, also synchronized across all Discord servers. Join our Discord at http://dallar.org if you want to check it out or add it to any of your servers.

Our first "big goal" is to create a game dev decentralized marketplace, not for games, but for assets to be used in games, as we're unhappy with the current state of game dev marketplaces. Many devs in our discord are eagerly awaiting the day they can put Dallar into their game, which we're still evaluating the best way to do so.

You're right. When we do Discord giveaways, there's a chance someone might create multiple accounts prior. The thing is, when we announce / do these Discord giveaways, we don't actually see much in terms of new account sign up. Maybe we're not good enough at getting the word out. Maybe everyone sees us as a shitcoin and wants nothing to do with us. Either way, it hasn't really been a problem for us. Also, usually when we do these giveaways, other Discord members also join in and give away large sums as well. We had someone match our 10,000 giveaway and gave away another 10,000. The Dallar community is more about the act of giving than receiving.

If the state of this ever changes, we'll adapt as well. We're continuing to develop improvements to our Discord bot as well as our up and coming Twitch bot to handle various situations.

Its not uncommon for new accounts to be randomly sent Dallar or for people to give Dallar in response for a good joke, shitpost, statement, etc.

Since Dallar isn't super rich, we can't exactly afford to hire a marketeer.

In other news, our Dallar discord bot now can look up the USD/BTC value of Dallar using the DigitalPrice exchange. So that's neat.

So the frontend (the visual only side, i.e. the website) seems to be exhibiting some bad loading behavior. Also the url doesn't work unless its only pool.dallar.org with no "/miners" or etc. Known issue, investigating.

The backend (the actual mining pool server that does the mining) has been up and running with no interruption for several months now, currently no problems seen.

We've gotten mixed reports about the amd miner. Some load it just fine, others can't get it to work. Even had 2 guys with identical hardware, for one of them it didn't work.

We're still trying to track that down. Suspect it may require some different command line tuning or something.

I get ~32 on my 1080 (not Ti) under full load, so, seems right.

We've raised 1M DAL for redistribution and have already given out 700k. Roughly 200k were lemon based.

We got about 300k more to give out but until we come up with a more sane idea... lemons.

Our redistribution act was pretty successful that we needed a way to throttle our giveaway fund.

Clearly not knowing what we're doing, we're giving away a total of 250,000 Dallar based on Lemon tweets.

Thanks. We didn't really expect to get such a big influx of users after tweeting that. We've exhausted our redistribution fund but we're getting more of our rich list to contribute. This will be an ongoing effort until we have a much cleaner faucet system. Until then, as long as we're able to keep raising funds for redistribution, we'll keep giving them away.

We represented Dallar at GDC 2018, got the name into quite a few hands and brought in some more high powered game developers into our community. Even had some people doing talks at the conference wear our Dallar badge on stage. If we were any good at this marketing thing, we'd probably have a bunch of pictures to post and stuff. But we're not. Theres an official GDC picture that includes some of the core Dallar members and if you zoom in, you can indeed see the fact that we existed. Again, we're shit at really everything about this.

We're starting an initiative to get on an exchange, doing some fundraising within our community instead of doing the whole ICO craziness. We should also be rolling out some new software related to game development content in the next month or so.

There are now multiple Dallar pools as well. Working on getting that info out to everyone and on our website.

Android wallet is still stable, but we're still suffering some build pipeline issues for iOS. As soon as this is resolved, iOS wallet will be pushed to the store.
