Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - Do not trade coins until this message changes

still looking into the issue

even though everyone (on here :d)  seems to agree the longest chain is the correct one - i'd still not trade, and be wary. Possible there is some invalid tx in the chain. Needs further investigation.

--

There is an update if anyone is interested in looking:

new RPC command, getchains
https://github.com/chronokings/huntercoin/pull/19

also more debug for reorg
https://github.com/chronokings/huntercoin/pull/18

i've not uploaded windows version yet..

----

hopefully this will provide more insight, and allow people to investigate further. If you are a dev and want to support the community, and find and fix the problem sooner there will be a bounty.

--

apologise for the late response, have been moving home..

i still hope the right chain is the shortest one  Cheesy

Of course they aren't, because they're all on an IRC channel sharing with each other totally differerent chains.  We're talking chains that are nearly 1000 blocks different size-wise.
Why can't we turn off all the eliesus nodes? if you turned off your three nodes (that you said aren't even running the daemon anyways) and we turned off the IRC channel, nobody would know how to talk to anybody else.  Then start by announcing nodes that are on the correct chain, to connect to via addnodes.
The IRC functionality is just asking for a fork.  and yes, there is also a #huntercoin02

otherwise just release an emergency version update and modify the IRC channel to use a different one, then make sure that you have only got the correct fork daemons on that channel when poeople start to join it.

it's not a proper fix.. and hoping people don't just add eligius chain to the new irc channel is not good.. people will jsut do it out of spite

it needs to be fixed properly

Devs need to check what happened at the blocks at the fork
Devs need to work out why we are not reorging to the longest chain

they will be related.

from the sounds of things, it seems you just want to be on this longest chain.. which i can respect, ..
but, whatever has to be has to be.. i'm not deciding, we will see what the people who can "see" the code think

they want to be at the longest chain because they got a lot of HUC from some bot that destruct in the base i think Tongue

I'm on block 91402.... Is that not the correct chain? :/

Same I think the majority of people are on this block chain. I think the only ones who are not are the ones who started from scratch or haven't updated their wallet in a long time.. I don't know if that's bad for us though.

well i'm same with the explorer block  Undecided

also make sure you remove this one 178.32.31.41
which is block explorer

and how to do it?

It's in your conf file.

sry newbie here, what exactly i need to do to remove that?

If you're using windows it should be in Username > Appdata > Roaming > Huntercoin, or search %appdata%. Within that directory you'll have your huntercoin.conf file. Open it with notepad and just delete the text with 178.32.31.41...

thanks a lot sir Cheesy

i hate to say this but, admin, you are too slow Sad
no wonder people said your support in your site is dead

No I'm not slow, it's just the fact that I don't reply except during certain times during the day and during that time I process all support requests. Some support requests take longer such as in your case of account hacking because I have to verify that you actually own the account, this involves having to look at IP address logs and such.

thanks to reply this again, but i really own that id, well if you need something to verify my account just tell me, thanks for helping
