dont want to piss on your parade here but the last newsletter was on April 17, 2014, 06:07:29 am, so you basically have no update for 3 weeks. After 3 weeks you have the announcement of multipool that all it does is pays you in HIRO which at this time has absolutely no value and nets more valuable scrypt to the person that runs the pool?  Huh

How many devs do you know that take the trouble of writing detailed newsletters ? Thanks for writing it by the way, I enjoy them !

Did you even read what Jeorii posted ? The last newsletter is in his sig. So what if the letter was a little late, guess they wanted to wait until the multipool was done.

It's so easy to come in this thread and be a dick. These are real people working with passion. Go find something positive to do with your time/

Also it seems you have no clue how multipools work. The submitted shares are exchanged for HIRO, minus a 2% fee which includes the exchange fees. EVERY multipool has a fee of at least 2%, many have more.

Re: [ESSAY] "Shades of an AltCoin War" Whitecoin, Darkcoin, and Blackcoin at War

All that Darkcoin has in common with the other two is the "coin" in the name.

It's an X11 coin. X11 is the future, and Hirocoin is going to come up as a winner.... stronger devs, stronger PR, stronger marketing.

Other than that I think you wrote a pretty cool article. Yes, a lot of FUD and slander is spread by competitors. It's all very tiring and depressing, heh.

Interesting competition, I'm gonna join !

  • Want to join the challenge but don't know where to start ?
  • Want to make 50 HIRO quickly ?

Join me !

Here's my submission. Project HIROSTORM !!
My aim is to get as many people as possible to promote Hirocoin in the traditional way, using signatures and mentioning Hirocoin in as many different, high traffic threads as possible. No spam ! Only actual contributions to threads are allowed.
You need to make at least 10 QUALITY posts explaining why Hirocoin is good in highly visible places ( like first pages of new competitors )
I'm going to split the prizepot fairly with anyone who joins my project, taht means if 10 people join me, they'll each get one 11th share of the pot.

Use this material posted halfway in the post :

I've been mining Dogecoin since yesterday on the pool https://doge.hashfaster.com/. Today I cashed out my earnings directly to my deposit address on Coinex. Here is the block chain address for my transaction:

http://dogechain.info/address/DMbv2Z4QA9X9BskE5RHYkYCWcHj8fHB82y

This has been about 2 hours ago and still no notification of it on Coinex. Their contact support form isn't working so I can't ask them about it. My money has disappeared into a black hole. Is there some way I can tell from the blockchain how many confirmations this transaction has received thus far?

Is doge any good

Other then it's fun factor and huge following of meme-lovers there seems to be nothing that warrants it's popularity.

You should do some reading at the mining subforum.
And carefully way the risks, mining BTC is a marginally profitable business at the moment.

Have you considered mining scrypt coins ?

I've been mining for a year with a milk crate rig powered by three Sapphire 7950's. It's been fun and very interesting.

Re: Wallets for altcoins?
by

Hey guys,
I started using Hashco as my mining pool so that I could mine various altcoins without having to monitor it. However, I don't want them converted to BTC, I want to mine them and sit on them in hopes of their market increasing. Right now, the only wallet I have is for BTC. From what I hear, there are alot of fraudulent wallets out there so I am uncomfortable finding the various wallets for all of the altcoins. Can someone give me links to trustworthy wallets for the following coins, or direct me to a list online that has a confirmed, trustworthy list of wallets?

The following are the most commonly mined coins by Hashco as of late, so they are most important...

DGC
EAC
LOT
MOON
NET
RPC

The rest are other coins that the site may mine...

42
ALF
ANC
CAP
CAT
CGB
CSC
DMD
DOGE
EMD
FRK
FST
FTC
GME
IFC
MEC
MEM
MNC
PHS
SBC
SXC
WDC
XNC

I don't anticipate anyone having a wallet for every single one, but please share any wallets if you have used them for a while without problems. Thanks!

You're going about this in a very creative way, my friend Wink

The safest way to get a wallet file is by using the wallet in the main [ANN] thread of a coin. Do a google search ( works better then the internal search function of this forum ! ) with parameters like this : "[ANN] Doge" "[ANN] WDC" etc.

I definitely recommend using wallet files on your own PC instead of relying on a pool's website.

Check out this awesome article on coindesk to keep your coins safe ( it applies to altcoins as well )

Post back here if you have any questions Wink

Sorry to hear that.

The Doge network hashrate is very high at the moment, so I wouldn't worry about confirmations. It's confirmed many times for sure after two hours.
All you can do is hope that their support comes online soon, it's most likely a problem at their end.

Re: what's the best signature for a newbie?

I'd put my full name and address

:-D

Actually, I think a smart quote is nice as a signature.

Or if you have a website like I do, it's a nice place for it.

That sucks man !

What kind of passwords did you use ? Do you use the same password for multiple sites and services ? That's pretty much the only likely option.
If so, I suggest you get into the habit of using a program like Keepass. It's free, safe, and easy. You'll only have to remember one good password, the program generates su[er strong ones for you. You can store the database ( encrypted, of course ) on dropbox, for example.

That saved me so much hassle Smiley

Good luck.
