If Decentralized Exchanges are the Future, then The Token Store is the Future

Article on Medium: https://medium.com/token-store/if-decentralized-exchanges-are-the-future-then-the-token-store-is-the-future-of-dexs-34009cba6f3e

The concept of centralized exchanges contravenes every founding principle of crypto -- decentralization, anonymization, and security. They’re not decentralized -- you don’t hold the keys, which means you don’t hold the coin. They’re not anonymous -- the vast majority require KYC. And they’re insecure -- more than 980,000 BTC - over $7.8 billion at today’s rate - have been stolen from centralized exchanges.

By their very nature, centralized exchanges continue to be an attractive target to some of the very best hackers on the internet. They are often insecure. The Mt. Gox hack alone lost almost 7% (!) of all Bitcoin in circulation. In the first three months of 2018, $534m in NEM was stolen from Coincheck, $195m of crypto from Bitgrail, and $3.3m from CoinSecure.

This is where decentralized exchanges (DEXs) come in: anonymous, secure, and trustless. With fully decentralized exchanges such as The Token Store, funds are deposited into a smart contract, instead of being directly deposited in an exchange. Fully decentralized exchanges have no way of removing funds from the smart contract - only the person who holds the private key of the Ethereum account that sent funds there can retrieve it. Moreover, no sign-up or email addresses are needed to use a fully decentralized exchange: the best way to use The Token Store is through MetaMask. This makes the experience completely anonymous. With centralized exchanges under persistent attack by bad actors and regulators, the lack of liquidity which DEXs are facing is likely to be gradually solved.

When it comes to DEXs, The Token Store stands out. The Token Store is a fully decentralized exchange built on the Ethereum network. It’s cheaper than its rivals by an order of magnitude, contains none of the annoyances that plagued the first generation of DEXs, and offers a much cleaner experience. EtherDelta used to be the dominant DEX, but serious bugs and poor code rendered it unusable: this is how ForkDelta came about, but continued bugs and UI issues make the user experience tedious and unreliable. The experience offered by The Token Store is simple, but smooth, and doesn’t suffer from such serious bugs.

Furthermore, it has recently decreased its trading fees to 0.03%: this makes it 90% cheaper than ForkDelta and over 85% cheaper than the ‘semi-decentralized’ exchange IDEX. It is also certainly much cheaper than any centralized exchange: when trading with The Token Store, one must pay only the trading fee and gas.

Also of note is the flexibility DEXs offer. The Token Store now supports the trading of any ERC20 token by contract address: this means that tokens don’t even have to be listed anywhere for them to be traded. Traders may gain a significant advantage by using this feature by being able to start trading before most people do when the token is listed. This makes trading much less rigid and more accessible than on centralized exchanges.

DEXs are the answer if you want your funds to be safe and if you’d rather preserve your anonymity on the web. I recommend checking out The Token Store for a start, since it offers the cleanest, most efficient and by far the cheapest product on the market.

To conclude on a light note, this amusing tutorial by DJ Bobby Hustle explains how to use The Token Store in an entertaining way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcFfZU187V0&t=281s

Token Store DEX Trading Fees dropped by 90%!

Hello! We are The Token Store, a truly decentralized exchange (DEX) built on the Ethereum network. We’re smooth, sleek, fast and efficient, with friendly support and a host of excellent features. If your only experiences with DEXs so far have been with EtherDelta and its forks, you’re going to find using The Token Store a delightful experience.

Today, we’re announcing that we’re cutting our fees by 90%.

That means that market-takers are charged a fee of only 0.03%!

Market-makers, as before, are charged a fee of 0%.

With the fee cuts, we’re now 90% cheaper than EtherDelta and ForkDelta, and 85% cheaper than IDEX for market takers and infinitely cheaper for market takers. Additionally, due to IDEX’s ‘semi-decentralized’ nature, our gas fees are going to be approximately 5x less than IDEX’s.

In addition to these fees, the Ethereum network charges a transaction fee (gas) for every transaction. At current prices, that’s between $0.10 and $0.20 per transaction, and it goes to the Ethereum network miners, not us.

We’re also happy to announce that we now support trading any ERC20 token with just the contract address. Simply go to http://token.store, click on the green “Address Trading” button, and enter the contract address there. If it’s a valid ERC20 contract, we’ll populate the market. Using Address Trading is a great way to test new tokens, swap tokens between users, and create markets for tokens that don’t want to pay the extortionate listing fees of more centralized exchanges.

You can also access any ERC20 trade by address market at token.store/trade/, replacing with the ERC20 contract address.

The Token Store supports MetaMask, you can directly import your private key, or you can use The Token Store to create a new ETH public address / private key pair. In case you’re not familiar with using DEXs, our friend DJ Bobby Hustle made this excellent Youtube tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcFfZU187V0&t=281s

Feel free to ask any questions you might have in this thread, or join our friendly telegram group at t.me/thetokenstore!

Thanks!

PS: We are open to any and all partnerships, promotional opportunities, and rebates for market-makers -- just ping one of the admins on the telegram group to get in touch.

Some have come up. The likes of IDEX, Forkdelta, Token Market are some good ones. I'm particularly impressed by IDEX's UI and hitchfree trading although the minimum withdraw funds are higher than most I've seen in other dexs

You mean The Token Store. It's far better than Forkdelta and IDEX in terms of functionality (the node actually works well) and has a slick and simple UI

twoturtles,
good day
is there instructions how i can setup masternode

1. if my provider give for me dynamic ip is possible setup node?
2. node address created in wallet?
3. where i can find privKey  and TxHash?
4. is real setup node for windows

for example i typycal users i do not find any info how simple way setup masternode, it is not good
I think need simple instruction, very detail that clarify for any student how you can setup node and use coin in future!

I was looking at this earlier, but gave up on it. If you were to use a dynamic address you would have to stay on top of when your IP changes, and re-config your MN whenever that happened. just not worth it IMO.

How do I get my funds from Android Coinomi wallet? Is it going to be updated?

You can load your wallet and dump your private keys, and then load them into the new Neos wallet.  Let me know if you need a hand in doing this.

Yes, thanks, I need help. If I'm going to use Mnemonic Code Converter - should I choose default - bitcoin? What should I do with BIP32 keys? Convert somehow to WIF? Load into the new Neos wallet by "importprivkey", right?

As far as I can tell, I think Coinomi needs to Add Neos to the tool as an option, so put out a request to them. I mentioned something to them on twitter about this.

Very nice! And to re-iterate what CryptoSporidium wrote...if Neos succeeds, then, and only then is the pre-mine worth anything to the Dev team. I can't imagine somebody orchestrating a 2 year scam just for a minimal amount of BTC....really... think about it!

Also, another thing that has always been great about Neos is that if those of us in the community have an idea, we can always talk to the dev team about it to weight the cost and benefits to implement it. This has always been very much a community coin.

I may be a nobody in the crypto universe, but I have been invested in Neos since 4 days after launch. I gained a decent percentage of my original holding by mining it when it was still multi-algo, and I mined the Blake256 algo. During this time early on, I started talking with Syntaks(Twoturtles) on IRC about the path and direction of Neos. At no point in any of my conversations with him were any of his concerns about his profiting off of the coin. Instead of being profit focused, Syntaks has always been about progressing the stability and legitimacy of the cryptoverse, and using Neos as his platform he has developed many of his thoughts of sustaining crypto into Neos.
The Neos team has always had a presence on the IRC(freenode, #neoscoin) channel, and have been as prompt as possible when it comes to answering questions. I know for a fact and personal experience that the team has always provided the best support possible to people that do end up having the occasional issue. When it comes to people who try to scam others I have never seen any Dev deal with scammers with as much swiftness as Syntaks.

Neoscoin is going places, it always has been, but sometimes it takes a little bit to get your vision going the direction you want it.

Just saying

Another pump and dump scam after someone vacuumed 90% of coins for cheap. What a surprise.

You have no clue what you are talking about, and at this point it is just pure FUD!

i must ask, how much premine does the dev now hold? i know the swap created more premine.

Details on the newly pre-mined Neos:

At the time of writing this there are 11,023,000 Neos in circulation approximately.

21% of 11,023,000 is 2,314,830.  The new premine will cover the following:

* The Neos foundation will run 35 masternodes on the network for services and security which will cost 175,000 Neos.  Masternode addresses are public, minimum balances must be maintained and will remain in-tact.  Profits from the masternodes will be used towards the development fund, operations overhead, and for community-voted expenses.
* The Neos foundation will have 125,000 Neos to cover developer's salaries for long-term continued development & innovation, support (via skype, telephone, teamviewer, remote desktop, etc.)
* Approximately 100,000 Neos to act as a recovery fund for several users that have reported hacks months earlier (trusted, long-term supporters with verified hacks).  We support our community to the best of our ability, in any form possible.
* 50,000 Neos to act as a fund pool for community-voted expenses.  Some examples might be sites that charge for listings, partnerships within other communities and projects where an even barter of coin is present, hosted masternodes in exchange for services such as design
, additional development, etc.
* 7 days worth of generation on the existing old chain, in the event all exchanges haven't halted trading/deposits/withdrawals and the swap isn't complete before then.

cut n paste from page 1. So dev doesn't directly hold pre-mine, but rather it is allocated into a fund to cover cost of development.

I had to set a High price on trex when it opened because people were trading at old chain sats. Luckily after a min all the other people with sell orders caught on, and the price then adjusted.

Bittrex only took that long to do swap because they were waiting for Polo to stop trades. Bittrex got sick of it and saw that when Polo froze trades, they started their trades on new chain.

lkjhg(nice nooby name), we are waiting on Poloniex to halt their trading and implement chain swap...everybody else has been ready.

I just submitted a support ticket on Poloniex, and I was also asking about the chain swap in the troll box, but got nowhere.

it looks like it has been just a little over 20min on Poloniex without a trade...does that mean Poloniex is swapping?
