Re: Bad government instigate more crime
by

I was ashamed and embarrassed when I heard a Nigerian who scammed Trump of $250,000 and now our government is running here and there looking for the boys, we should think about the future of this boys, most of them are graduates and after several years of job hurting, they could not bear it again because the bad government can not provide jobs and their frustration led them to opportunity of crime scene, though am not in support of their actions and crime but poor leadership and poor economy system can cause their issues of crime. Thank God $40,000 is currently recovered from those guys and instigation is still on going. What do you think about this fraudulent criminals and government? Aren't they the same?
I came across a thread here in the forum that a police officer kidnapped a Bitcoin Holder in an attempt to take his investment away, so the government are not left out in these ridiculous act given that some government officials are criminals too. Fraudulent activity doesn't just happen in Nigeria alone, fraudulent activities are happening in different countries now and even the government I could say that the government are the architect to these acts because they choose to make living in some of the countries hard for citizens and thereby forcing citizens to get involved in fraudulent activities to survive the falling economy in the country, regardless of the things happening in our different countries, crime is never the way out because any money made out of crime will never give you peace of mind. The FBI will always be on the tail of every one involved in the crime.

Re: Money is hard to get ,but easy to spend.
by
AmaGold70
on 31/08/2025, 14:57:14 UTC
I have been thinking about this for a very long time, why money is hard to get,but easier to spend and I have try to make research why it's so,but I have not actually find out why it's so, because I thought that money should also be hard to spend as it's hard to get so that it would last long in our hands .because the way in which we always suffer before we can get money,it shouldn't have been that so easy to finish..

If you begin to consider the ways and hours in which one have to undergo in order for him or her to makes  money, you will feel so sorry, but when it comes to spend it it won't take a seconds, and I beginning to ask myself is it because of the high rate of inflation or that our money has no value anymore,or is that how it supposed to be?

For example: take a look at the different types of jobs we due engage ourselves just to earn money, jobs like:
1) wheelbarrow pusher, :consider the strength and time it will take to a wheelbarrow pusher to raise #5,000 but just go to beer parlour and ask for a bottle of beer and pepper soup just to regain your strength and check your pocket at the end of the day and see what was left..

2)some are conductor: it's not an easy job come rain come sun they're there standing without sitting down after everything, you just want to neat yourself up and enter a bouquet and all the whole money will disappear from your pocket.

3)some are into online business: for example Bitcoin forum after spending some many years to understand the system here and also struggle, sacrifice your time and have a sleepless night just to make sure you are up and doing and after everything and you were able to attain the requirements and you get paid and you decided to praise yourself by getting yourself a clean car,you will just have an empty pocket within a second.. and it won't be enough despite all the sacrifices and difficulty but just a second everything is gone without stress unlike to get it..

So what I'm trying to say is that there's no way, there is no short cut to make money that is so easy, but spending the money is the easiest thing to do....
Indeed money is hard to get and it is also easy to spend too but not for everyone, if you value your hard earned money I'm sure that it would be very hard for you to spend it recklessly. Spending money that gave us a hard time to make isn't really the problem, but the problem is how we spend it. Are we spending it on important things that really need money, or are we spending it to fulfill our human desires that isn't really important? They say that money is meant to be spent but we should be able to give account or put records on how we spend our hard earned money, however, I don't blame anyone that chooses to spend their money on their human desires because they worked hard for it and if they can spend it they can still work hard for another one.

Re: Reasons to use only Discretionary Income for Bitcoin investment.
by
AmaGold70
on 31/08/2025, 14:41:48 UTC
Some newbies won't understand why they say use only your Discretionary income to invest in Bitcoin or why it is said that "Don’t invest money you can’t afford to lose."
It is very important that newbies should know the reason why they must use only their discretionary income to accumulate or invest in Bitcoin.
And this is the reason why, other members can still add to this I believe it will help not just newbies but other members who are still not aware.

1. Bitcoin is Highly Volatile: you need to understand that Bitcoin is highly volatile in nature meaning it is not constant in it's price the price changes every minute meaning it rises and falls frequently so If you use money meant for your rent, food, or bills, you risk being stranded during a fall of Bitcoin price.
Using only your Discretionary income protects your lifestyle even if Bitcoin falls.

2. Protects You from Emotional Stress: If your important and essential funds are tied up in Bitcoin you will be panicking at every dip that happens in Bitcoin which will cause you emotional stress or even lead to shock that can end your life so using discretionary income makes you stay calm and patient, making it easier to HODL for long term without fear and panic.

3. Encourages Long Term Growth Mindset: if you are using only your Discretionary income to accumulate Bitcoin it will make you to HODL longer because the money you are using is what you actually don't need for any essential thing, so you can hold for years without even panicking.

4. Prevent Debt: some set of people borrow money just to invest in Bitcoin which is very bad because if a dip happens and the due date to repay comes you will become in debt and loss at same time, so no matter how small your Discretionary income is use only it to accumulate Bitcoin it will prevent you from debt.

When you are using only your discretionary income to invest in Bitcoin it means you are investing with peace of mind. Even if Bitcoin falls, your life, bills, and responsibilities stay safe and intact, so use only your Discretionary income for Bitcoin investment or accumulation.
Bitcoin investment is really one of those investments that we need discretionary income for its investing, especially Bitcoin that is very volatile in nature. I've heard that some people even put all their money or savings in Bitcoin investment and that's not right because you might lose and make zero profit from your investment, Bitcoin is a decentralized currency and yeah we all want to transfer our fiat currency in Bitcoin but we also forget that even though Bitcoin is reliable it is also not reliable sometimes. Discretionary income should be used to invest in Bitcoin and we should also have funds in our Fiat account too so we don't have to pull out our Bitcoin when it is blooming.

I posted about how a police become a thief, which may not be shocking to many people because anyone can be a thief. See another one today which are 14 people. Among them are former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) and 11 police officials.

It was about kidnapping and extortion of bitcoin from a Surat-based businessman in 2018 named Shailesh Bhatt, who had reportedly recovered a portion of his lost investment from BitConnect developer Dhaval Mavani in the form of bitcoin, after the $900 million company he invested in shut down.

How did the police officials knew about it? Maybe Shailesh Bhatt reported it to them for help is my guess. After he recovered the coins in bitcoin, they knew it was huge amount of money. Because of that they kidnapped him.

When I was reading the news, it was like I was reading a novel or watching a movie. What if after they were able to stole huge amount of money from him in a wrench attack, what if they killed him? It can happen like that but luckily they did not kill him.

To know moren about it, you can read it from this link: https://cointelegraph.com/news/indian-court-sentences-14-bitcoin-extortion-case

Everyone seen involved in the criminal case has been sentenced to life in prison.
I'm not shocked to hear sad news like this because I already know that even those claiming to be our security personnel are corrupted, maybe not all of them but most of them are so corrupted by greed that they forget their jobs. This should be a lesson to everyone that are Bitcoin investors, many people around the world know that Bitcoin a worth a fortune and those that can afford it will do anything to get hold of it so we really need to be careful not to expose anything crucial to anyone, even our close friends shouldn't be trusted with any information about our Bitcoin investment, everyone is looking for a way to escape poverty and they don't mind getting anyone, as a Bitcoin Holder, I take my security measures very serious because I know that Bitcoin is the price.

Re: Slow or fast?
by
AmaGold70
on 29/08/2025, 20:18:29 UTC
I recently encountered someone who talked about spending their money fast or slow. It got me thinking what are the differences. Basically spending your money fast means when you get money, you end up losing it immediately to buy whatever it is you want. Spending your money slow means once you acquire your money, it takes time for you to spend it but at the end... you still spend it anyway. It made me realize that even if you save your money to spend it eventually, you are still somehow losing money. The point is not when you spend your money but where you spend your money on. You can spend your money immediately but are you spending it on something worth its price? Something valuable? Something that is necessary?
It's true that even if you choose to spend your money fast or slow you will still spend it eventually but personally I think spending your money fast will only leave you stranded in the end without a penny to deal with emergencies or sort yourself out from your daily expenses, and spending slow will keep you prepared for any future emergencies and you will still have a little amount until another money arrives to still top up with the one you are spending slow. However, at the end of the day the only thing that matters is how well you have spent your money. And how fulfilled you are spending your money on important things.

Re: Bitcoin will be the world's next reserve currency?
by
AmaGold70
on 29/08/2025, 20:05:32 UTC
It cannot come to reality seeing the stance of current governments.

No doubt, bitcoin has proved itself useful but the governments do not want to loose their control. They want systems in place which keeps them powerful. If they make bitcoin reserve currency, they will loose a lot of power. And if they bring some type of restriction on bitcoin and then make it reserve currency, users might not be comfortable with such a situation.
Exactly what I thought, world leaders would never allow Bitcoin to be the most important or reserved currency in the world because they will definitely loose control over the financial system completely and that would make them loose power too. Bitcoin is a decentralized currency and it gives its holders the power without any interruptions from the government, the leaders knows fully well Bitcoin as a decentralized currency would only give individuals control and they won't benefit from it so I don't think the government will give Bitcoin the chance to shine more over our fiat currency. Making it a reserved currency and then putting some restrictions on it still isn't going to work out fine for them because Bitcoin was originally created to give its users the freedom of power.

Re: The acceptance of Bitcoin by the younger generation to me is a welcome developme
by

on 29/08/2025, 19:49:42 UTC
This generation is actually looking for were to invest their money and earn returns. The banks are not helping here because even if you save your money in the bank it amounts to nothing because the interest rate is so low.
The economy in our different countries is hitting the older ones that are doing 9/5 collar jobs so hard and some of them are finding it difficult to keep up with their basic needs so the younger ones are doing everything possible to rewrite their story by skipping the 9/5 collar jobs and probably escaping the same fate as the older generation by accepting Bitcoin and investing in it massively. Bitcoin has proven itself over the years that it is worthy of every hype it gets globally and the younger generation understands the crypto space better. We the younger generation are thinking smart and we choose Bitcoin investment to make good returns.

Re: Do you have gambling friends or you prefer to be alone.
by
AmaGold70
on 28/08/2025, 21:56:51 UTC
There’s a popular saying that birds of a feather flock together. Does this apply to your gambling experience? What I mean is, do you have more gambling friends with whom you can share your earnings or strategy, or do you prefer to be on your own, not telling anyone that you gamble?

I have gambler friends with whom I can share my insights on boxing matches and horse racing. Honestly, it’s hard not to have friends in gambling because you want to talk to someone with the same interests.

I don’t know if there is a similar topic, but if there is, let me know, and I’ll lock this right away.
Sometimes I like gambling alone without any noise from no one and most times I like being around friends while gambling and together we share strategies and talk about different clubs, it's actually very boring gambling alone and my friends and I have the same gambling fantasies,  so we make sure we don't go overboard. It's more safer for me to gamble with friends because they lookout for me anytime I really to chase losses and I do the same for them too. My friend and I make different decisions and we have different opinions so we don't necessarily do the same thing in placing a bet but rather we share tips and reviews while watching the game.

Re: Do you think governments should set limits on how much one can gamble daily?
by
AmaGold70
on 28/08/2025, 21:19:56 UTC
As what the question is, Do you think governments should set limits on how much one can gamble daily?

For example, in Finland:

Quote
Veikkaus has the following compulsory loss limits in place applicable to all of their games (excluding Casino Helsinki): €500/day; €2,000/month; and €15,000/year.

https://iclg.com/practice-areas/gambling-laws-and-regulations/finland

Should this is be good deterrent to at least minimized gambling in a certain country? Or does it force gamblers to uses illegal means or even travel outside of the country that has this strict law to continue with their gambling?

The government setting limits on how much a gambler can gamble daily will only make them look for an illegal way to do it and that would be a messy process in the country, gambling is an individual decision and they everyone shouldn't be forced to set a limit. I only think that the government should make the age restriction policy should be taken more seriously to avoid young adults or teenagers from being addicted, and perhaps instead of strict limits on how much a gambler should gamble, they should focus more on educating people about responsible gambling. Because even if the government gain access to these gambling sites in order to stop gamblers from going overboard they would still find a way out illegally through illegal site.

Re: Is gambling inspiring people to work harder?
by
AmaGold70
on 28/08/2025, 21:04:41 UTC
Just want to share something I’ve observed in our community. I know a few people who are consistent gamblers, yet they also work really hard. It seems like gambling actually pushes them to hustle more, because they need money to fuel their gambling activities.

In their case, they’ve been gambling for years, but they’re still responsible with work, so I don’t see it as pure irresponsibility. Their motivation might be different, but they’re still putting in the effort, even if the end goal is just to fund their gambling.

So how do you see this kind of lifestyle? Do you judge them as wrong because their reason is gambling, or do you respect it since everyone has their own way of finding happiness?
You may be right about saying that gambling pushes some gamblers to hustle hard to fund their gambling habits but for us the hard work is for a different reason. Hard work actually pushes me to gamble and not because of the profit but mainly to ease up some stress from working hard all day. Anyone that works hard to fund their gambling habits is an addicted because no one would want to lose their hard earned money to gambling all the time, and I would only see them as responsible people if they are not going hungry or looking unkept because they use all their money from work to gamble I wouldn't want to sound judgemental but working hard just to fund gambling habits is pretty dumb to me.

Re: gambling and divorce
by
AmaGold70
on 27/08/2025, 22:20:25 UTC
is there a connection between gambling and divorce rate?

Research from the National Gambling Impact Study Commission and the Gambling Impact and Behavior Study indicates that divorce rates for those dealing with gambling issues are estimated to be around 40% for problem gamblers and approximately 54% for pathological gamblers.

i think the moment we hide our gambling habits from our partners that is the moment we will get in trouble because that is when trust crumbles and when you get in trouble in gambling and have to tell your partner you will be surprising them

not to mention some people also spend money from money that both the partners contributed in

so aside from gambling responsibly, will you agree that we should disclose our gambling habits or is it not the business of our spouses? does gambling really have the capacity to break up a marriage or a family?
Most definitely, gambling have the capacity to break up marriage or family if the gambler is irresponsible and addicted to gambling, I've seen a situation where an addicted gambler used money meant for his children's school fees to gamble and unfortunately for him he lost the bet and was left with nothing. We should always disclose our gambling habits to our partners from the beginning of our relationship so that they would know what to expect eventually, it is the business of your partner to know about your gambling habits to avoid shocking surprises when you get into trouble, your partner have every right to know from the onset so they would choose to stay strong regardless or quit.

Re: Will banks One day accept Bitcoin deposit?
by
AmaGold70
on 27/08/2025, 22:08:58 UTC
One day banks will accept Bitcoin as medium of exchange and accept deposits from bitcoiners. As soon as the world powers accept it as medium of exchange.
World power are low key accepting Bitcoin but I don't think their acceptance would influence others to accept it too, bank accepting Bitcoin solely depends on the country you are from. I don't see our tradition banks accepting Bitcoin deposits because fiat currency and crypto currency are two different currencies that shouldn't be mixed under the same building. Bitcoin will challenge the government's control over the fiat currency and they wouldn't want that so it would be difficult for the government to agree with this, satoshi idea about Bitcoin was for Bitcoin to be a decentralized currency and I like it that way so I don't care about if the Bank accepts it or not.

Re: Gambling ads become part of daily life
by
AmaGold70
on 26/08/2025, 10:22:00 UTC
Almost every sports including football's dominated by gambling ads. Casino ads are affecting ppl. Kids see it every where it isn't healthy. Billboard ads tv ads & online ads are every where. How's gambling affected you & ppl you know ?

I've got mixed feelings about renting my sig for gambling. I've done it because I wanted managers to consider me for other sig campaigns which aren't casinos when they're available. I'd prefer giving it to mixer sig campaigns but they're banned. I'm not sure how long I'll rent my sig like this.
It is really unfortunate that underage people, kids are not protected from these ads because they could be manipulated into gambling through those ads. although kids are really influenced by what they see up close and so parents could be responsible too for an underage turning to a gambler because they have seen their parents gamble too and they may think it is a normal thing. Even with the ads everywhere on TV channels, billboards and on the internet I feel a child does what they have only seen their parents do, so if you want a responsible kid and you want to protect them from gambling, never let them see you gamble.

Re: Taking risks responsibly.
by
AmaGold70
on 26/08/2025, 10:05:59 UTC
"Taking risks responsibly" is an interesting phrase. We cannot avoid risk, and we cannot not take risks either. But excessive and stupid risk is not needed, it only brings us closer to failure. In the end, a smart player must choose a certain balance. This is how the phrase "responsible risk" is born. It may sound funny, because when you take risks, you put yourself at the mercy of the elements, you become dependent on luck. However, by adjusting many parameters of your risk, you can make it responsible. Here we can see an analogy with "responsible gaming" and a "responsible player" who knows that he is taking a risk, he does it consciously and he manages his risk as much as possible in order to reduce the risk of adverse consequences, minimize it and increase the probability of success. Do you like the phrase "responsible risk"? What meaning do you put into this concept? Is your risk responsible? How many players, in your opinion, have responsible risk?
Responsible risk is choosing to play with the amount you can afford to lose, or using your spare money. Yes we can't avoid taking risks if we truly want to succeed in life but we can choose to do it responsibly by being conscious of our gambling decisions and taking calculated risks that would align with our financial life and these way you can set boundaries for yourself never to go overboard in throwing money around

I recently came here. The first post I saw after coming here was Bitcoin Discussion. There, I saw that everyone was discussing bitcoin freely. After scrolling for a while, I saw a short meta description below each discussion, which helped me understand the discussion. I am a new member and did not understand everything about this forum well. My question here, is this forum open for everyone? I can see that everyone can discuss about their crypto and bitcoin. Can I also discuss or post about bitcoin and crypto like others? If anyone could give me some feedback on how I can participate as a new member and I would greatly benefit. Thank you.
You can read and understand that's great buddy, you just need to look what other forum users are doing and go with the flow. You may discuss about your crypto and Bitcoin but only to as extent because you wouldn't want to let out all your valuable information about your Bitcoin or crypto into the forum, as a beginner you should understand the importance of being anonymous and safeguard your Bitcoin because amongst us here are also scammers and beginners like you are usually their target so be aware. Never hesitate to ask questions if you are confused about anything in the forum, there are pinned threads in every boards containing rules and regulations for the forum, of course the forum is open for everyone even beginners but just be careful not to break any rules. Engage in discussions you can connect with and you will be fine.

I have observed some posts by Nigerians in this forum which, in my opinion, are too sensitive to be posted for non-Nigerians to see. One of such posts is this: Bad government instigate more crime

I understand that we, as Nigerians, have our challenges as a country and we also have our bad sides as well, but believe me when I say this: corruption and scams are not only peculiar to Nigeria.

We should consider the implications of certain topics we raise about us on this space. The world already holds unjustifiable stereotypes about us as Nigerians, thinking we are all scammers. Discussions like this coming from us will further validate their negative perception about us. You can imagine if the forum members stop dealing with Nigerians because of one scam story from a bad egg.

Let's not spoil the collective reputation of Nigerians in this forum with what we post or do.

Let's not wash our dirty linen in public.

Some topics should be limited to the Nigerian local board.
Honestly when I see that post eh e really pain me reach bone and if to say the OP of that post dey close for where I dey em for chop slap and I no send anybody, e no even bring the talk come out local board oh but em carry am go politics and society come still use pure English dey write am. Baba think say those oyibo people go see am say na em good pass among us Nigerians?

For christ sake, a Nigerian problem should be kept in the Nigerian board. It's bad enough that the only language that unites us is English and we no suppose dey talk anything wey dey serious with English because them oyibo go read am understand wetin we dey yan, and us as Nigerians no go fit understand wetin Dem dey write for their own board. Every country get their own share of scammers and they are not talking about their own problems and I wonder why this werey decide to do us dirty like this.

I hope he/she still has the Bitcoin intact till this day because that's a whole lot of money. Hopefully in the next decade I would be in ichi position.

Re: Is it important to gamble even when you know your win are not guaranteed .
by
AmaGold70
on 24/08/2025, 11:48:30 UTC
A lot of new gamblers sees it as a do or die affair if they don't win their games and that is why they turn out to be more addicted in gambling because they keep on chasing their losses and ends up becoming a liability/ burden to their families, now the question is must you gamble to make money?

Are there no other means to make money or become wealthy except through gambling?

After knowing fully that gambling wins are not guaranteed, some persons don't even win at all within a year then why having such mentality of making money through gambling, or is it that their is a certain phenomenon  attracting people to gambling that is difficult to understand aside from the entertainment aspect of gambling, because it's really funny to see most people nowadays gambling for money and not for the entertainment aspect even if we have little mindset of winning some day.
One of the major reason why most gamblers gamble is to win and make profit and along side that mindset, some already know that it's a 50/50 chances of making profits so that prepare themselves by also seeing gambling as a means of entertainment and having fun with friends and family. Is it wrong to think that gambling with make you wealthy and people with this mindset of gambling finds it very difficult to see gambling as an entertainment. For some people gambling is a serious attempt to make money and I'd say that it's not entirely bad to think of gambling as a platform to make cool money but it's essential to also have realistic expectations and not rely solely on it.

Re: Fine a side hustle and accumulate Bitcoin.
by
AmaGold70
on 24/08/2025, 11:35:32 UTC
A member in my local board created a thread from the news she saw on X and here is the link to that thread.
Link and here is the link to the news on X link so according to the thread and news on X they said that a Brazilian man was picking cans and selling them and then using the money he generates from selling those cans to buy Bitcoin and he has been doing this for 2 years now and he is close to having 1 Bitcoin.
I really don't know how true this news is but I know is possible because I have a close relative who picks cans as his side hustle and he makes good amount of money from it because he sells it to companies.
When I saw this it really motivated my spirit, if you are working and your salary is not enough for you to accumulate Bitcoin you can fine a side hustle and be making money from it and then using the money to accumulate Bitcoin you never can tell how far you will go if you are determine and consistent for some years and like you know Bitcoin can change your life for good.
This is a call to everyone who's salary is not enough to accumulate Bitcoin fine a side hustle.
There is dignity in labor don't be shy when doing any side hustle that will be easy for you because you will reap the good from your hustle in the future.

Easier said than done, picking cans for sell for two years and using the money to invest in Bitcoin and is already close to having 1 Bitcoin sounds too impossible to believe. As a worker that is earning salary I'd rather save up to invest in Bitcoin or I use the DCA method to invest every month because I don't see myself picking cans to sell, yeah there is dignity in labour but I choose my labour wisely and I choose the labour that will be possible for me to invest in Bitcoin because I don't see picking of cans as the side hustle for me, don't get me wrong though, I respect people that picks cans but I doubt the money from picking cans will be even to accumulate almost 1 Bitcoin in two years.
