With all of that said, if you have ideas on how to grow the community or suggest another round of developments, please do that here or via PM.

A gpu friendly algo would be nice. I would happily come back and mine it. I could set up pool as well.  Grin

Scrypt is (at least was) pretty GPU friendly.  Spots doesn't have an absurd difficulty level, like some other coins, so with a decent GPU you could still claim some blocks.

Interesting, in less then a month the price of SPT's doubles on Cryptsy and yet the forum is dead.  Imagine what this coin would do if there was an active forum and dev team promoting and working on the future of this coin.  Soooo much potential  Roll Eyes

I've always believed in this coin.  That is part of why I helped the community clean up the source code and relaunch it (with several others, of course).  At this point, the only thing I can do is to tell you to read the history and see all of the effort and thought that has gone in to getting us here.  Like I've mentioned before, I'm still here and the coin is not dead.  The infrastructure is strong, and we have fulfilled our current development plans.

I don't think we need a flashy business plan, or to make huge promises.  The altcoin market is already flooded with coins that are constantly changing, for no reason.  This is where I intend to be different.  This coin was intended to sit on a strong infrastructure, have a long lifespan, and be used to trade altcoins for precious metals.  We're doing just that, and will continue in to the future.

With all of that said, if you have ideas on how to grow the community or suggest another round of developments, please do that here or via PM.

I wouldn't say we're dead...  But, I have made no significant updates to anything in a while.  I don't plan on taking the website down, or turning anything off.  I'm also here if anyone wanted to chat, or has ideas, or even wants to take over and give another strategy a try.

A lot of the older coins get less frequent updates.  We still have an active blockchain, client, website, 2 exchange stores, and a popular exchange.

The one thing we have always been missing is a large community base.  It's the same passionate 3-5 people that keep checking back, participating, etc...  For some reason, this coin doesn't catch the casual browser's eye anymore.

I wouldn't say as I did, but look like there is no alive pool left, and my last mined coins are "hanging" unconfirmed during ~2 weeks, no activity in the network.

I'm curious if you are on the right fork???  The main Block Explorer "http://explore.thespt.com" is showing 23 connected peers and new blocks coming in approximately every 70 seconds, as designed.  There should be no significant delays in confirming blocks.

Again, the coin is not dead, it's just got low interest / transaction volume right now.  The core infrastructure is solid, and working great.

I wonder if that 2 satoshi buyer is somehow profiting in a transition to the LTC / EAC market???  That 2 sat wall is definitely odd...

http://eac.poolerino.com/ (listed on the OP's post) is getting removed too, another pool down.

Wow, they were the Top Dog for EAC mining.
It's about time to pull out the defibrillator... Undecided

If anyone is looking for a new pool, I added EarthCoin to my multipool a few weeks back.  You can use our profit switcher or mine directly on EarthCoin.

If you use the profit switcher, there are periods where this coin is very profitable still.  Even at 2 satoshi

His Royal Lemurness is busy coding away a new web service to do just that!  Us community members should keep the conversation alive.

I believe in Lemur!  It's rarity has prevented any significant mining dumps, and it's holding steady value.  The smallest surge in volume, or acceptance, and boom!  We're off like a rocket ship.

I was just commenting on your post history and how frequently you resort to spreading false information / accusations.  You've just proven me right. Roll Eyes  Continue on if you must...

I think if you look back at the history, iGotSpots put Spots on the back burner for something else he was working on.  It was a payment service called PaySHA.  I don't think it ever went anywhere though.  So, I guess he moved on to where he's at now.  It really doesn't matter at this point...  Aside from launching the coin, and maintaining it for about a year, he has no involvement at this point.

iGotSpots has been working on another project.  He's released details of it here...  It actually look pretty cool.

So what is the consensus of what happened to this coin?

Dev fled without delivering on promises?

You'll be happy to know he's already created hardware for his new coin.

iGotSpots moved on long ago; we've tried to save the coin as best we can.  Things are going smooth, just quiet, for now.  You're on an old thread BTW.

If this coin is so dead then why is there a 17 Bitcoin order at 2 Satoshi on Cryptsy?

Look around and try to find that kind of demand on any other dead abandoned ShitCoin.

Can anybody find a plausible reason for this?

Cheers!

I don't know, but I keep selling to that wall.

Maybe someone is planning a big pump / dump?  I read an article once that explained how to do it.  Step 1 involves buying a significant amount of the coin supply...

Well, this means that the other big holders will profit from that too, right?  Grin

In theory, yea.  If someone is really planning to take control of the money supply and manipulate the market, you could profit by just passively following the trends.  The risk you take is that maybe it's not a person, and maybe a malfunctioning bot?  Or some other weird story...

But, I'll keep selling to the wall until it's gone.  Especially when my profit switcher says Earthcoin is the most profitable coin to mine in any given period.

Such doom and gloom from you guys.  The volume has dropped off a little bit because of the rallys on the new drug coins (MaryJ, DOPE, THC, etc...).  That won't last forever.

Now is the time to grab some relatively inexpensive LMR.  Look at the order book!  If someone bought .2 or .3 BTC worth of LMR the price would jump in to the 80-90k range again.  These coins are super-rare and with a relatively small increase in volume I think we could shoot right up past 100k satoshi's again.

King Coolian is working on a new service as well!  The wallet looks amazing, it isn't being mine / dumped because of design, and it is backed by solid services, and an active developer who has proven he doesn't copy / paste code.

King you are my hero!  Continue on...

All of the drug coins have distracted everyone, so we should all grab up some cheap LMR and wait for the drug lords to get busted.

Ty my friend Smiley
I feel like a 40 y.o. virgin on a college party, with those drug coins...like fair and honest coins era is ending, all u need is cocaine coin and some ICO, and that's it Smiley...

As long as you continue on the journey this coin will stand the test of time.  You've got a great and solid design, great marketing, and backed by solid services (with more to come).  All of these investors of the drug coins will come looking for a good investment to rebuild their portfolio after people start crashing those markets.

Hi Everyone -

I like that some new life is being blown in to this classic coin!  If anyone needs a stable place to mine I have included Digitalcoin on our mining pool at http://mine.revivalco.in/.  You can either mine directly to DGC or use a profit switcher.  The system is stable, running a NOMP backend with some basic customizations.

Our team also has done a handful of coin revivals (http://www.revivalco.in) and I can't speak for everyone on the team, but I would glad to help with anything.  Just shoot me a PM.

The coin is still able to be mined, and is trading on Cryptsy.  So with a dev or not, there is value there...  I personally think it is cool how the block rewards are variable while following the earthly cycles.

Anyways, long story short, I have added Earthcoin to our pool.  Please feel free to drop by and either mine it directly or use the profit switcher.  I'm running a NOMP portal, with some very minor modifications.  Shoot me a PM with questions.

Also, our team (http://www.revivalco.in/) does coin revivals.  Please PM me and let me know if you support this type of action here.

Any news on the mac wallet.
Cheers

I just need to make it a priority to fix the distribution.  The build is good, it is just missing a dependent library file from the looks of it.  I'll try to do it this evening, or worst case tomorrow.  My OSX VM environment is a pain to work with, I am very sorry for the delay.

Actually, on the same subject, I need to make it a priority to try to breathe some new life in the coin.

Now that a few weeks have gone by, and things are beginning to settle after the fork, it would appear that we have achieved exactly what we were hoping to achieve.  The selling has significantly dropped off on Cryptsy, and the downward pressure is slowly being lifted.  Without any promotional activities we've managed to get back in the triple digit satoshis, and it seems like we are slowly rising in value instead of dropping.

Does anyone have ideas or suggestions on promos?  I think with some effort, we could move the needle now that we've reduced the block reward and got out of the targets of the Scrypt-N multipools!
