Hello..

So it kinda seems like everyone is running there gpu full tilt boogie on x11 etc ! Which is  fine, if you have cheap power rates. Im paying about .12 a killa watt. So its a bit high. I ran scypt for full throttle for about 4 months. I finally realized that running a heavy under volt was the way to go. It didn't really pay off to have the rig pulling massive watts form the wall. Heres a little example. One rig with 6 270 was pulling 1080 watts on scrypt. Hashing around 2900 kh/s. I undervolted to .950 and was able to get 2520 kh/s at 705 watts. So my question is has anyone found some good hashing power with new or old drivers on x11 while still pulling minimal watts from the wall?

Is tmb worker down alert working? Had a rig go down over night. Didn't get any notification. I enable it under the worker option.

I use http://bitmon.net to get email notifcations.

Got it all set up. Thank

Im in the same boat. I can't get my 270 to hash x11 for any length of time. It also needs a hard reboot. Hopefully some one can get it going for us 270 guys,
Now I'm testing this config:
Code:

"url" : "stratum+tcp://super.pool.com:3333",
"user" : "user.rig",
"pass" : "x"
}
]

Try it. Change only pool and username to yours.

Ok ill give it try. thanks

I have installed https://github.com/lasybear/sph-sgminer_x11mod on all my rigs (7950, 7970, R9 280X and R9 270). All rigs with 7950, 7970 and R9 280x work perfectly, but rigs with R9 270 hangs out very often from 15 min to 2 hours. But if I set in config
"kernel" : "darkcoin" instead of "kernel" : "x11mod"
rigs work perfectly and stable, but hashrate is more low. Can you fix this?
I have use BAMT 1.3, 1.6.2 and PiMP 1.4.2.

Code:

The longest I have been able to get my rig to run is 12 hours. I don't know what's causing it, but it's freezing up and I have to do a hard reboot which isn't convenient since I normally use team viewer. I posted my settings at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=623409.msg7036775#msg7036775 if anyone can look at them and give me some suggestions. If the miner was just crashing I wouldn't care so much because that's easy to restart. It's just the hard reboots that are killing me.

Working on figuring out settings for gigabyte r9-270's still, I'll post when I find a good config that runs for an extended period. I also use teamviewer...someone needs to make a power strip that can be toggled on and off remotely over the internet....That would be a lifesaver.

Try one to these. i believe you can run 1500 watts through it.

Just sharing my 4 x 270x + 1 x 270 settings for x11mod (basically as per OP settings): aver 10.14 or ~ 2.03 / card (needed to decrease the settings on 270 for some reason as would get driver failures on that card ). Using Win7 x64, driver version 13.251.0.0, CCC completely removed/disabled. Using Trixx atm to manage mem and engine tweaks.

Code:
"gpu-powertune" : "20",
"intensity" : "16",
"kernel" : "x11mod",
"vectors" : "1",
"worksize" : "128",
"gpu-threads" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "8192",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"gpu-engine" : "1100",
"gpu-memclock" : "1500",
"api-mcast-port" : "4028",
"failover-only" : true,
"api-port" : "4028",
"expiry" : "120",
"log" : "5",
"device" : "0,1,2,3,4",
"no-pool-disable" : false,
"no-submit-stale" : true,
"queue" : "1",
"scan-time" : "30",
"temp-hysteresis" : "3",
"shares" : "0",
"kernel-path" : "/usr/local/bin"

Was only getting about 1.3 before using this release with modify kernels so cheers mate. Sure could increase the engine up to 1150 but seem to get a few more rejects.

Thanks for sharing. Ill try it with my 6 270 rig. But whats CCC?
I think its catalyst control center ?

i don't think you need to specify the same settings everytime, if you use only one type of gpu

I have 2x290nonx & 270x

yeah in your case you must set different settings, but i was talking about Amgclk65 conf

Running scrypt doesn't cause a issue. Ill give it a shot though.

Hello.

Im in need of some advice. I can't get my 6 270 stable using the latest x11mod & x13mod + increased time to SICK state sgminer.
It runs for 10 -15 min and locks up my rig. needs a hard reset to get it back online. heres my config. any help would be awesome.

virtualreality69..
I had the same problem as you. I hated flashing the bios on my headless rigs. Till I discovered ati_win_flash. It allows you to flash the cards within windows. So I just team view into my rigs and and play with different voltage and bios with VEB. There so easy to use guides online regarding it.

Thanks virtualreality69 !
Yeah at one point I was doing the same. Trying to squeeze every last hash I could out of my 270. I finally got smart and starting playing with a ltc calculator and realizing the it really wasn't netting much income/ltc coins for the extra 300-350 watts. What's really cool now is that I can keep mining ltc with the difficultly increase in the last week or so. I guess what's hard to grasp is that in the gpu mining game, is the hash/watts is a huge factor. Most small gpu mining people like me want the most hash rates we can get off your hardware.
Low clock speeds and under volting is where it is at.

Are those, Gigabyte 270's?

Yes, three of them are. Undervolted via hex edit.

Ive got my 6 270's running 700 watts or so now as well. take a look

Very nice on the 270's!  .955v is very good!

You must have some really good cards. Some of mine were unstable below and around 1.0, but they're all very stable at 1.100. I'll have to go another round of testing to see if I can get them stable at 1.0.

My biggest problem now is that they're running on Linux, which I haven't found a good under-volting guide for. So if I wanted to do some testing I'd have to pull them out of the rig I made and put them in a windows box to flash with ATIflash.

Great work!

Thanks.
what engine clock and memory speeds are you using at 1.0mv?

Hello.. Here's my config file for sgminer. It just takes time to find the sweet spot of most gpu. i start at a low memory clock and go the full range of engine clocks looking for a sweet spot. Low engine speeds is what really saves power. Also find the sweet spot before under volting. I don't have any guides. I use the normal vbe7.

Ive been very motivated by this thread to save electricity. Here's my latest under volt setting..
Im running  7970,280x,7950,7870. All running in the mid 800 clocks and 900 memory.
.950mv across all gpu.

Here's my total system pulling 666 watts.

I've got 6 270 hashing at 4260 mh/s pulling 740 watts from the wall. Under volted from .085-.095 mv.

WTF are you talking about, 710KH/s on each 270 ?

Why do people love to post bs like this?
Read the thread. I made a typo and corrected it.  Why do people post shit about something they haven't read in full ?
