I think this is great. Not just us accepting BTC for fine wine it seems. Hope we will see more people doing it.

As a follow up to our last comment. The guys who bought fine wine with Bitcoin when it was over 10k a coin are rather happy right now. Some are now selling their wine saying they will buy back Bitcoin at just over $5k a coin.

So, seems the day I posted the above asking if there was going to be a correction the market fell from just over $19,000 to sub $12,000.  Interestingly we have seen a large spike in demand for our service as people realise the Bitcoin price behaves like any other market and the price can come down as well as up.

With the price of Bitcoin being so high we are seeing a lot of large holders decide to cash out and take some profit.

Whilst there has not been a correction in the Bitcoin price there is certainly talk of it. What do people reckon? Will we see it correct or will it continue to climb?

The problem with accepting Bitcoin as payment is in the time it takes between receiving Bitcoin and converting it to £ Sterling (still a minimum of 1 to 2 hours for us) is the Bitcoin price can fluctuate wildly.

Now I keep seeing posts that argue that just holding on is fine as the Bitcoin price just goes up. This is a completely flawed argument in so many ways. For a start most business need to pay suppliers within a set time period and the said suppliers generally want to be paid in cash not BTC.

I am however seeing people accept BTC for services or electronic deliverables far more than physical objects. I think we are one of the few that accept Bitcoin for luxury items but we are doing it more to provide a service to allow people to cash out of BTC into fiat.

I know that people will be a little reluctant to sell BTC at the moment as the market has not yet seen a large crash/correction. Lets face it, most people will naturally want to hold onto something that just seems to only go up!

The people who are buying fine wine with BTC are people with very large amounts amounts who obtained it when it was well under $1,000 a coin.

Investing in wine is a great place to diversify ones portfolio. Its not going to give you the percent increase that Bitcoin can by any means but ask any decent investor and they will tell you having all your eggs in one basket is crazy. What you will see is good solid growth in a low risk environment and profits are tax free. We even accept Bitcoin as payment for fine wine now.
