For gpu fars it can be good, because HDD without power can cause loss of data.

You should be able to get 800+ on those cards each.

settings, please? I can't get over 740 with mine, MSI has been a much better performer for me than sapphire dual-x or gigabyte windforce

Dont belive every troll who doesnt know shit.

Your cards generally are not able to do clocks which are  needed for 800+khs. You need minimum 1160/1800 for that.
Besides, pushing 280x to its limits not even closely efficent anymore. Those cards will consume way over 280W each and will be insanely hot when you push them like that. As a result fans would not survive over 3 months. Its a common flaw of several cards, If fans are running high rpms.

800+ is impossible.  My elcheapo MSI 280X only gets 688kH, because it's crappy core only does 980MHz stable.  720kH is the normal top-end speed of these cards, 800kH is a drug-induced hallucination.

It is possible and I've been doing it with multiple rigs for a long time now. You should really do some research... I do overclock the cards but there is nothing wrong with that. Also please note, I undervolt them before I overclock them even Wink They run cool... just fine.

All my settings, screenshots, etc. are there. I have a 6 card rig and a 4 card rig running similarly.

Getting the proper BIOS flash, then undervolting it are great ways to get good kh/s and run on less power. You should be able to use the same BIOS on your cards that I'm using on mine...

This image below is old and was taken after the rig was running for 24 hours...

This image below shows sgminer which has been running for 12 days or so... so don't tell me about stability. Its also in a room with a pretty hot ambient temperature and you can see the cards are staying plenty cool..

and.... one more pic.

What model of the 280X cards these are? And which bios did you use ?

but, why the price go down when china buying bitcoins like crazy ?
Because that site only shows the buys, not the sells. 500 BTC of buys, 1500 BTC of sells.
but a sell i a buy to someone else ... or my logic is stupid Tongue

but it is still 1000BTC more sold that bought.

Why don't you guys just buy gas powered generators?

Why would anyone do that?  Roll Eyes

I'm just thinking about it.

The cost would be half with the generator and with the hot side you can solve the cooling.

But it's a high investment, I'll wait a few months with that to see what will happen on the asic market.

Do you really think it will be worth trying ?
