This attack of the newbies is like a swarm of gnats. Itchy little blighters.

I am thankful to Nicehash for two things. First, quickminer, which I dare to run on my main pc. Nicehash are a legitimate business with a lot to lose and that makes me feel ok about using their service. And second, it is good to inform the community when strange things are happening. The warning about PhoenixMiner is well received.

I will miss this pool, it was the best one.

Pinpins really put in the effort, but I guess there's a point when dealing with the nonsense just ain't worth it any more.

hi is there any exchange that you can mine directly to or use to exchange the coins(not tokens) other than Bilaxy?

If you're ok with selling the coins immediately, then consider an auto-exchange pool.

You should support my work and buy my 0.05btc mods. Some of them are still profitable.

I like Zergpool. My rig is often connected to miningrigrentals and there on to zergpool, so I have my fair share of experience dealing with renters. And I have to say, around 20% of them have some problem either with their settings or their pool and they don't know until I tell them. I imagine it's worse on Nicehash because there's no communication between rig owner and renter, they are basically hashing in the dark. So mistakes get made. I am not going to say anything about who might be at fault when these problems arise; but I do wish that Pinpins could be allowed to spend his time on the things that I appreciate most, like finding new coins and generally making me money.

This is great if the "real world tasks" actually exist.

Everything still in testnet or closed beta.

Re: GPU mining coming to an end?

First, small scale GPU miners could easily survive as long as they build rigs geared towards efficiency.

I'd say the aim for the small GPU miner should be agility. Be able to adjust configs and swap algos to quickly adapt to new opportunities.

Leave efficiency to the giant farms that worry about their 0.001%.

XVG is a total shit show but I love it. When it gets pumped I make money from the switching pool. When it gets hacked I make money from rentals. Just got to be careful to never hold any actual coin Cheesy

This is kinda funny. We've all heard complaints about dusty miners looking a bit used. And now Bitmain sold your farm's location to crooks.

Remember when those farms were robbed in Iceland? The stolen asics turned up in China, ready to begin their journey all over again.

There is no development in Cardano. They can't even fix their wallet, which has been broken for over 6 months now.

Slow and steady wins the race... but not so slow that the wallet is broken for 6 months.

Possibly brilliant and methodical tech... which should speak for itself, instead we have drivel from human spam bots.

Interesting project.

All this makes me wonder, are these 51% attacks and "secret asics" being used to justify the case for Asics?

It's so obvious there's no need to wonder. They pay for an attack then offer their services to protect from future attacks.

Every coin needs its own proof of work or this situation will just get worse.

The Minexcoin has a significant drops, from $37 to $8.3 today, what happen to this coin? Any idea why this drops happen?

I got two theories. First, there was some big video interview with Boris the boss, but no-one can be bothered to watch it and no-one has bothered to transcribe it so no-one knows if it's good or bad so they assume the worst.

Or second (and more likely) the parking rates got changed.

I do believe that ASICs are on the losing team in long run.

If for no other reason than they will eventually fall foul of environmental legislation. The colossal waste of power is already ridiculous and neither governments nor conscientious people will leave such an easy target alone.

If i leave my bike without lock.... this is like when you have money for a lock, but spend it all instead on a snazzy purple paintjob. Plus the wheels are falling off and the brakes don't work.
