Re: [DOPE] DopeCoin - Relaunching soon
by

DopeCoin is not over, this is just the beginning!

I'm putting together a plan for relaunch and will be using all new third party providers. LiveChains will no longer be hosting the website, wallet download or the mining pools and I will be looking for a more powerful solution. Additionally I am reaching out to the community for a lead developer to help get us back on track.

Looking forward to the second-coming of dopeness, don't take too long about it though..

Re: Optimum Miner Settings for GIGABYTE AMD Radeon R9 290X OC 4GB GDDR5

So my computer crashes a lot now since mining.  The screen will go black and I'll have to hard reset.  Last night the computer just froze with the desktop screen showing.  I did a hard reset, ... then the computer doesn't turn back on.  Gpu fans are still spinning and lights come on from the computer. I take my r9 290x out and put my old radeon back in and it boots up.  Before trying my 290x again should I uninstall all the drivers and catalyst for it??

I have an MSI 290X this crashed when exiting CGMiner until i added the argument --no-adl to CGMiner.

example: cgminer.exe --scrypt --no-adl --config "settings.conf"

What about a CPU farm using the Amazon EC2 cloud ?

I haven't done any calcs on profitability though lol

Possibly, guess you have 2 and a half hours to figure out how to do it.

Sorry didnt quote you

Forget Amazon EC2, this coin clearly gives vast and unfair advantage to admins of Schools and Corporate Networks, and those in control of Botnets (even encouraging botnets!), they wont  even pay a dime in electricity or investing in AMD cards to mine this coin all they need to do is deploy the software on as many machines in their control. Those you with just one or two PCs will be competing with that.

Those looking for hope and fairness are sorely in error.

                                                                     http://i61.tinypic.com/2z4xobq.jpg
MINING POOLS AVAILABLE RIGHT AT LAUNCH

Official DopeCoin Development Pool (3% fee) (Support DopeCoin Here)

www.dopecoinpool.com

                                                     Scryptmined Pool dope.scryptmined.com (2% fee)

                                               Digiminers pool dope.digiminer.net (0% fee)

DopeCoin is expected to face larger than normal server loads as well as increased security threats.
All pools on this OP and on the website have met or exceeded certain load handling and security
specifications to ensure a safe and secure launch for the community.

With that being said I would highly recommend using different login details for each mining pool you sign up with. Also protect yourself from brute force attacks by using a randomly generated, 24+ character password. http://strongpasswordgenerator.com/   Stay safe Folks!

                                                            PRE REGISTER NOW FOLKS!

A special thank you to digiminers for providing the community with a top of the line pool for 0% fees at launch. (Will increase to 1%, 24 hours after launch)

Beware of AltCoin Pool ran by nbphuoc, this pool operator has practiced shady techniques including spamming this thread announcing 0% fees, gaining several hundred pre registrations and then jacking his rates up to 2%. Your mining efforts are likely not safe here from both a security and reliability standpoint. Additionally I have strong moral issues with this individual trying to take advantage of the community and will not be supporting his "business".

Thanks for singing up at the Dev pool guys, I truly appreciate you supporting the cause.

Are there any pools in Europe?

Re: DogeCoin already bigger than Litecoin

An interesting question for all coins is -

How much does it cost to maintain the coin at its current price level?

It gives you an idea of how much money is currently flowing into the coin, and resources being used to secure a coin's network. It's easy to work out - you take the current price and multiply it by the number of new coins created each day. I've compiled a list and it currently has some interesting coins at the top, and some interesting coins at the bottom - here it is

Top Coins
Bitcoin -     800x25x6x24 =           2.880M
DogeCoin -    0.0018x500000x60x24 =   1.296M
Litecoin -    20.57x50x24x24 =        0.592M
Mooncoin -    0.00019x1000000x40x24 = 182,400
Peercoin -    4.53x114.44x6x24 =       74,651
ProtoShares - 10.20x16.177x12x24 =     47,521
WorldCoin -   0.29x53x120x24 =        45,792
Primecoin -   2.65x10x60x24 =          38,160
Namecoin -    4.88x50x6x24 =           35,136
Feathercoin - 0.27x200x24x24 =         31,104
Novacoin -    12.72x9.3x6x24 =         17,034
MemoryCoin -  0.20x216x10x24 =         10,368
Megacoin - 0.57 - 25x24x24 =              8,200
DigitalCoin - 0.2510x15x90x24 =         8,100
Devcoin  - 0.00059 - 50000x6x24 =   4240

Bottom 3 'Big' Coins
IFC      - 8.3e-05 - 4096x120x24 = 979
Quark    - 0.074 - 4x120x24 =      852
Zetacoin - 0.02 = 4x120x24 =       230

*Let me know if I've missed any - just looked at the top20 and the ones i'm interested in.

I suspect the error is with production = availability. The amount of coin actually available on the market, is far smaller than the MAX(coin.made.perday). Example the amount of gold available to purchase is much smaller than the amount actually mined. Ditto with diamonds. The volume is not necessarily related a price of a thing.

Re: [PRE-ANN][DOPE] DopeCoin - We are secret, We are safe!

This project is designed to be much larger.

DopeCoin has at this point been privately funded by myself. Although it would be nice to premine this coin for various reasons, I refuse to damage this projects credibility. My personal investment strategy is to purchase DopeCoins after it's release and hope to recover costs and profit long term from that approach.

DopeCoin was created by the people, for the people! We hope to garner strong public interest and support for future infrastructure development.

Cheers,

D

SHa-256 is rare now

+1. Scrypt would have been correct choice

yep this is a coin for BTC mining refugees with obsolete ASIC's (because you need TH/s to mine BTC profitably)
