What's up guys?
During summer I played a little with tor and i was able to use lobstex wallet via tor, it's very easy , you just need to set to use the tor proxy in wallet settings.

Now I want to try using tor with masternodes, what is the right configuration for lobstex.conf ?
Should I add something like onion=127.0.0.1:9150 in it?
Is there a tor relay I can put in like addnode=lobstexai3xyz76.onion ?

We regret to announce that operating an exchange without License and USD account has resulted in poor liquidity and less participation from users. We have delivered a working exchange after months of deliberations and hard work without raising any finances from outside, however, operating and managing exchange requires huge costs which we are not able to circumvent. The Lobstex team has decided to close XLobs exchange from 10 July, 1 pm UTC. We therefore request the users to withdraw the coins which are on exchange in a week’s time i.e. 15 July, 1 pm UTC.

On the other hand, many of you will ask what’s next for Lobstex? We are in process of creating an environment of Lobstaq universe. Lobstaq currently comprises of Cointaq, which is a crypto asset news aggregator with in-built feature of earning. Cointaq works on the principle of Learn & Earn, reading news from the website for 10 minutes will earn the users 1 Lobs coin after successful registration. In future, we will add more features on Cointaq. One of the feature includes ‘CHIRP’ where coins can provide updates about their projects. Apart from Cointaq we are working on other projects under the umbrella which we will announce in future.

Website: https://cointaq.com/

I was aware of exchange not doing well, but not expecting to close so quickly. Any chance to attract more users? Why not adding more alt coins people voted for? Also compulsory KYC registration can discourage new users to join, can you allow registration and trading for users without KYC with some limit in deposit/withdraw?
Anyway I understand your decision if costs are too high...
I'm not worried about the future of the project, is still solid and moving forward to another , possible better, use case for the coin is totally fine.
Thanks for the update!

The dev address will grow approximately at 1 Lobs per minute.

How the funds will be used? Some budget proposals that owners of masternodes can vote on?

For those not following Discord or Telegram:

Upgrading wallet to version 2.3 is required!
This is a mandatory update with fork at block 560000. All the info on the GitHub page https://github.com/avymantech/lobstex/releases

For those who still have some zlobs: convert the zlobs into Lobs asap. Zerocoin protocol has been removed from the wallet due to its recently discovered vulnerabilities.

Mandatory update wallet 2.2.1.0 with stake patch fix and UI change can be downloaded from

https://github.com/avymantech/lobstex/releases

Please make sure to  backup your current wallet first.

What is the block number planned for the switch?

It's not activated at Block, its mandatory upgrade for wallet to safeguard from fake stake attack.

So if I don't update the masternode nor the wallet were I receive MN rewards will still work?  The receiving wallet is not staking, not always online,so should be safe from an eventual fake stake attack which is substantially a DoS.

Regarding the PoS vulnerabilities, maybe you can check some mitigation applied to pivx coin:

Thanks.

Also i was reading this news
https://www.ccn.com/25-crypto-networks-vulnerable-to-fake-stake-attack-are-your-funds-at-risk/

So I'm just wondering ... Does code of lobstex need mitigation for this?

they are working on it and will release new wallet soon
also they opened a vote in #opinion-poll (https://discord.gg/uDS6P9t) on discord for see if LOBS holders want change BR distribution
(actualy MN/PoS 60/40)

Option 1: Keep the masternode and stake reward percentage as same
 Option 2: Masternode 70% and Stake 30%

This better article says is an issue with PoSv3 https://www.zdnet.com/article/security-flaws-found-in-26-low-end-cryptocurrencies

At the bottom of the article there is a GitHub link with demo code to reproduce and test the vulnerability.

For me is the same as I'm both staking and getting MN incomes. But for curiosity what is vote results?

GPU Miner : non official https://github.com/zumy/multiminer

How the test goes? I was courious to try it on a laptop with AMD Radeon HD 7550M/7650M, is not at all a powerfull card but it seems to support OpenCL as GPU Caps Viewer say
Code:
OpenCL 1.1, Turks compute units:6@500MHz

How can i run multiminer on win7 with this gpu and a Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2450M CPU @ 2.50GHz ?

Tried the precompiled binaries for win but always throw error: cannot find entry point clReleaseDevice in the dynamically linked library OpenCL.dll

I guess the Catalyst driver i have are too old or this miner needs OpenCL 2.1 at least...

Further try to gpu mine on a old unused laptop  to see how many hashes I can squeeze out.
Installed a newer driver and the multiminer now works, but from the pool i receive always rejected invalid share messages. I guess the problem is the settings are not correct?
From GitHub:
Quote

You will have to play with threads and batchsize numbers to get best hashrate. Please note that batchsize is required to get a normal speed. It should be given in powers of 2 (though that is not mandatory, but is better). The batchsize represents the number of hashes calculated by the card in a call. Threads multiplied by batchsize multiplied by argon2d memory requirements (250KB for Zumy, 500KB for Dynamic and 4096KB for Argentum/Unitus) should not exceed available card memory

My card memory is 1GB (1024MB) so:  N° of threads (4) x 250KB x batchsize should not exceed 1024MB.

Anyway I tried all possible gpu-batchsize possible values but shares are always rejected.

Anyone gpu mining on a pool?

May I ask which pool you're using?

Tried icemining.ca and honorpool.org  both rejecting shares.

YOU MUST USE    "-a sha256d-le" flag, or you will get 0 shares.

Launching beta of new pool...  miner and source are available (windows binary is available)

https://github.com/honorpool/cpuminer-multi/releases/tag/v1.3.5-beta2

This miner should have better performance than the current BLEPool miner,
It is not compatible with BLEPOOL at this time.

Pool URL: http://honorpool.org/

Discord for support: https://discord.gg/qrkcenZ

Pool supports workers,  just ad a .Workername to the end of your wallet address.

Early testing shows better performance than the current pool miner.

** UPDATED MINER TO FIX CPU USAGE ISSUE.  please update if you have encountered this.

Very Nice! It compile also on ARM device! Finally a low energy mining!

I will try to mine some BLE on a SBC and will see how it goes on the honorpool!

Lot of news coming for Lobstex in these days!  Cool

After kointel testing, i read in Telegram that the new exchange is almost ready! Good job! (people dumping lobs and unlocking their masternodes will regret when this coin will go to the moon and they will never afford again the cost of setting up a MN)

I also read about a voting about a possible modification of the rewards percentage (PoS/MN) When/where can we vote?

PS:
In the future we will be voting about budgetary tasks using the Masternode command mnbudget vote? I have a MN running but i never used the voting commands, can somebody explain how it works exactly? I just read on the whitepaper about the commands mnbudget show
and mnbudget vote, tried in the console gives me this:
Code:
Vote or show current budgets
This command is depreciated, please see individual command documentation for future reference

Available commands:
prepare            - Prepare proposal for network by signing and creating tx
submit             - Submit proposal for network
  vote-many          - Vote on a Lobstex initiative
  vote-alias         - Vote on a Lobstex initiative
  vote               - Vote on a Lobstex initiative/budget
getvotes           - Show current masternode budgets
getinfo            - Show current masternode budgets
  show               - Show all budgets
projection         - Show the projection of which proposals will be paid the next cycle
check              - Scan proposals and remove invalid
nextblock          - Get next superblock for budget system

so is it deprecated command? i assume will be/is replaced by other command like mnbudgetvote?

Code:
mnbudgetvote "local|many|alias" "votehash" "yes|no" ( "alias" )

Vote on a budget proposal

Arguments:
1. "mode"      (string, required) The voting mode. 'local' for voting directly from a masternode, 'many' for voting with a MN controller and casting the same vote for each MN, 'alias' for voting with a MN controller and casting a vote for a single MN
2. "votehash"  (string, required) The vote hash for the proposal
3. "votecast"  (string, required) Your vote. 'yes' to vote for the proposal, 'no' to vote against
4. "alias"     (string, required for 'alias' mode) The MN alias to cast a vote for.

is there a guide/how to on this? or i can write one if i can gather enough informations from you about it.
