Re: [ANN] [CPU mining] Yenten v1.3.1 [YTN] [YescryptR16] [Exchange avilable]

Is it possible to mine with this CPU?:
Xeon W3565

Can somebody estimate hashrate?

I can buy old workstation for 225 USD with this Xeon or i can buy old workstation with:
i5 4570
for 314 USD.

What is better price/power choice? I want only toy for mining Yenten, no other usage.

I5 is BETTER. w3565 is too old.

Thanks for your reply, even if it cost 89 usd per workstation more?
I realy want only toy for mining, price per hash is important for me.

if you want to buy a machine only for mining ,i will suggest 2680V2 with 4GX4

how would mining perform on mobile devices? for example a TV Box? CPU's are pretty ok in those, will it be supported?

The only GameCoin getting a ScoreA in the 10 GameCoins comparison... now thats really tempting me to join in.
Only thing still holding me back is massive pre-sale bonus, a bit out of proportions

I have been doing some investigation regarding this project and I think the team/consortium are legit!
I have some concerns about fixed bounty token amount but in the end it might still be a good investment if the team can pull off to get international companies to actually start using their product.
My expectation is that token price will crash when all bounty-tokens will be sold on the market (which will be a huge share if token sale remains low) but price will be recovered when the platform will actually become active.

Re: Is bitcoinJ a viable Server side bitcoin library?
by
Artimunor
on 28/09/2017, 19:59:51 UTC
I started using BitcoinJ but eventually ended up writing my own support (see my BitcoinCore project on GitHub).  One of the problems I had was the fact that the entire wallet was rewritten on a checkpoint basis and I needed to integrate the wallet transactions into a database commit/rollback mechanism.  I also needed to handle a large number of private keys and wanted to use a hash lookup when matching incoming transactions to account addresses.  You can see an example in my TokenExchange project (which handles Bitcoin <-> Nxt exchanges).

I wrote a Java bitcoin node (JavaBitcoin).  But I haven't maintained it since it was just a learning experience but it might provide some useful tips.  I now run Bitcoin Core for the server but I still use my own wallet (BitcoinWallet).

Do you have some links to those projects?
Sounds really interesting, and i would love to take a look.

How about being able to build mines in-game which generate the actual currency?
We could call it proof-of-achievement.
If you have mines, your game-client will also actively process and encrypt transactions.
The more in-game mines the more client-processing will happen, this should be scaled by being able to add external hardware (cloud miners and asics etc.) which could all be managed from within the game.

do you want a person to have either of those trades?
finding a person who really has in-depth year-long experience with all those languages you are probably looking at a pensioner. oh wait some of those languages are to new for pensioners haha.

How about bringing bitcoin to your full-time-employment?
If you are knowledgeable and in IT chances are your company might need the know-how, even if they don't realize it yet.
It's what I have been trying for years, and recently I notice being heared. Must be the hype.

For all of you who don't know ArmoredDoge is he is a well known TROLL. He has many troll accounts and spreads stupid FUD and lies on a lot of different coin forums, not just on Syscoin. Just block him and ignore him. Hopefully he gets kicked out. Syscoin has a very bright future!
While he is obviously trolling, and trying to downtalk, by accident he touched on an interesting subject:
The question why the syscoin team thinks we need the amount of security given, and not more or less.
imo no amount of security can be enough, but i see people paying with mobile apps these days so there is obviously a market for less secure payments.

Pics of the updates coming to the purchase workflow in Blockmarket beta3, still hashin out the final details (heh, get it?!) but as you can see, trying to make it much more seamless with the QT wallet:

Had a quick look at your purchase flows.
Users has to wait 2 times. How long will this take ?

I mean if I want to do my everyday shopping, I don't want to wait while adding an item to my shopping cart. Amazon has its one click buy, which is successful because there is no waiting time. I mean, the longer the purchasing process takes, the more likely you are to lose customers on their way till the final step.

Much easier flow:
1 - Click buy.
2 - prompt(Do you really want to spend 100 Sys on Item?)  Confirm | Cancel
3 - // do the rest in the background
// In the unlikely case that anything went wrong, send a notification to the user, telling him what went wrong.

=> no waiting time. Greater ease for any customer.

but what about security?
..

about that security, would it be possible to obtain a merchants private key by placing an order at that merchant and monitoring what happens in your (hacked or self written) browser?
then if the private key is obtained other peoples orders can be decrypted... please correct me if im wrong.

i'm holding my sys which i bought and currently also merge-mining it.
about that mining i had a question: does merge-mining reward amounts equal or near-equal to solo-mining this coin?
i'm asking because since im back from vacation and syscoin.me is down i have like only 10% of the rewards i had before, or did the difficulty went up by lots?

We're going through and cleaning up the list now- sorry for the lapse in updates there.

For those looking for info on the presale rewards / shipping / status / delivery please read this post:http://syscoin.org/board/discussion/51/syscoin-presale-shipping-information

Are those promotional things like keyrings and tshirts exclusive to preorder?
Or are they buyable for currency as well now or in a later stage?

I merge mine on Give-me-coins.com .

thanks i will give that a try.

So how to mine this?
All the pools referred to in the original post seem completely empty except for one (that one gave me only 17 sys after 24 hours of mining with 3Mh/s
syscoin.me website is unavailable, and url i used before going on vacation is not working anymore.
On the only working mining pool i see the network hashrate is 34,473.39 MH/s while that pool is only doing 6.32 MH/s so where is everybody mining?
Could the devs please link to working active pools in their start post?
