by

on 23/04/2020, 00:18:47 UTC

On or around 5 AM UTC, May 7, (10 PM PDT, May 6) Celo Gold (cGLD) will be available through a Dutch Auction on CoinList. cGLD is a utility and governance asset required to participate on the Celo Platform, a new Proof of Stake layer-1 blockchain. CoinList will be the only place to purchase cGLD ahead of Mainnet release, including on any exchanges.

Open Finance for All
Celo’s mission is to build a financial system that creates the conditions for prosperity — for everyone. Celo is a mobile-first solution that’s composed of three main elements:

1. Lightweight identity and an ultralight client for a mobile-first user experience.
2. Stability mechanism for stable-value currencies.
3. Incentives and an on-chain governance system for platform sustainability.

The Thesis

A PoS Layer-1 Protocol with Ethereum Compatibility
Celo is a permissionless Proof of Stake (Pos) layer–1 smart contract platform with EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) compatibility on day one. Currently, Tezos, Cosmos, and Algorand are among the few permissionless PoS networks that are live. Celo’s EVM compatibility gives them an advantage in collaborating with the Ethereum ecosystem and creating cross–chain applications relative to other layer–1 chains.

A Consumer-Focused Strategy for Wide Stablecoin Adoption
Celo’s focus on supporting a great mobile experience sets it up to drive adoption of the payment system in emerging markets. This could massively expand the stablecoin market — to date, stablecoins have primarily been used as trading instruments in crypto markets. This market is large and growing and we believe the Celo Platform can significantly expand it. The recently announced Alliance for Prosperity, with over 50 organizations committed to supporting the Celo Platform, has a reach of over 400 million people.

A Compelling Economic Model for Participation
Celo Gold enables participation on the Platform, with the opportunity to earn rewards through network participation. Celo’s stability mechanism and token economics are designed in such a way that demand for cGLD directly increases as demand for Celo Dollars (cUSD) and other stable value assets increases.

Experienced Team
Co-founder Sep Kamvar is the inventor of EigenTrust, one of the most well-known protocols for trust computation in decentralized systems. His first company was acquired by Google. His co-founders Rene Reinsberg and Marek Olszewski founded a machine learning startup that spun out of MIT and was later acquired by GoDaddy. Other Celo community contributors come from Apple, Facebook, Google, Square, Visa, Twitter, and The Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Backed by the Best
Celo is supported by over 80 backers, including prominent venture funds, C-level operators, academics, and experts across a wide range of fields, including Polychain Capital, a16z, Social Capital, Dragonfly Capital, Coinbase, Jack Dorsey, Naval Ravikant, Reid Hoffman and more.

This is a good moment to spend your money on cryptocurrency because the market crashes after SEC postponed ETF for several major coins. I think you should consider ICX, it is truly undervalued below $1 now. ICX was hitting over $10, I am sure by the end of the year it will hit more than that.

I am also surprised why he decided to remain hidden in the dark. He has created something amazing, which is Bitcoin that trying to change the face of our traditional finance system known notoriously expensive and complicated. Clearly, by his name he is a Japanese, but who know right? Maybe it is just a pseudo name. I think he remains mysterious because initially Bitcoin was used in the dark web by criminals and he doesn't want to get involved in it. It is my opinion though.

Re: All the bounty tokens can be sold?
by

on 09/08/2018, 01:29:25 UTC
Of course, as long as it is listed in an exchange bounty token is tradable. However, according to my experience, the team usually takes a lot of times to get their token listed because they follow the market. Given bad market condition right now, ICOs I follows, have postponed their listing and bounty distribution. Early listing can hurt the price because of dumpsters.

Can't believe you made 200 posts and got nothing. Well, this is another risk joining a fishy ICO. About KYC, I don't think it is necessary to pass if you are a bounty hunter. Why? When the tokens get listed, everybody can buy it even they come from restricted countries like North Korea, Syria, and others. You should not quit joining ICO. You simply need to learn avoiding fishy ICO like that.

by

Bagi saya perlu. Kenapa?

Re: Zero Fee Trading?

currently only extoke exchange the only one exchange without fees trading, but this will only open within a few hours, so join in, I'm also curious whether extoke will free all fees or not.

Unfortunately, extoke exchange that scheduled to be open today had to be extended 24 hrs because they haven't completed their tests. This is a decentralized exchange though, and I don't plan to use it as my main dex. They do offer fee free trade but what bugs me that it requires a private key to make any trades. Safety is my priority.

I think AENCO is a good ICO in Q3 2018. This project offers health care services under one umbrella. They claim their project as the first health tech platform using blockchain technology. Other ICOs you should consider maybe Uchain, weiDex, and Wemark.

Re: Best way to promote an ICO
by
Arwinkim
on 05/08/2018, 13:00:47 UTC
Before promoting an ICO, you have to make sure that your ICO has been prepared well enough to attract potential investors. Why? Because I believe you don't want to spend a lot of money doing promotion but your ICO doesn't offer something valuable.

A good ICO usually doesn't really need an aggressive promotion because usually it creates hype. However, I think every ICO should offer bounty rewards to get supporters from the blockchain community. This kind of promotion is cheaper and more efficient.

Re: Is it a good time to start buying bitcoins?
by
Arwinkim
on 05/08/2018, 12:51:42 UTC
Yes! This is another good time to bag more Bitcoin and major alt coins like Ethereum, EOS, NEO, and others before ETF approval scheduled on September. I plan to enter the market all-in right now but my money doesn't suffice yet. Bitcoin has hit a new support at $7000 and I don't think it will go lower, but remember if you want to gain more profit, you need to find a good momentum to enter the market.

Re: What is your trading style?
by

This kind of questions has been asked so many times here. I am not a margin trader because it is too risky, so I simply follow the golden rule only: buy low and sell high. I use very simple techniques using combination between fibonacci, moving averages, and volumes. I think you don't a lot of indicators, if you are good at price action.

I don't think Bitcoin has no competition, because clearly it is competing with alt coins. However, it seems impossible to overtake Bitcoin throne. You know we all know Bitcoin is a main cryptocurrency with bigger capitalization over 40%. Usually, people need to buy Bitcoin before buying any alt coins. I call it "first door" as well as Ethereum.

Re: BITCOIN won't die, period.
by

on 04/08/2018, 01:11:01 UTC
Yes of course! Bitcoin is a decentralized payment system without central bank. Everything depends on supply and demand that makes it alive. Without internet, Bitcoin can die but hey who can shutdown the internet? Despite cryptocurrency is new stuff and it has created its own market, I believe people, company, and even giant institution will start realize its huge potential. Thus, it will be started to adapt in our life. The problem here, we all should work together to eliminate negative perception towards bitcoin as dark web money or criminal money.

Re: Bitcoin cannot be a global currency
by
Arwinkim
on 04/08/2018, 01:03:58 UTC
Your explanation is reasonable and making sense. Bitcoin by its nature seems barely become a world currency because it don't have static value like fiat. Personally, I think even though Bitcoin is a decentralized currency but it needs to be controlled by the government to protect us from scam, fraud and money laundering. Solution I can offer here, the government should create their own decentralized currency that they control by adopting blockchain technology.

Re: Cryptocurrency could help your business or not?
by

on 04/08/2018, 00:44:39 UTC
Of course, it could be simply because bitcoin is an easier payment option without third party. You don't need a financial worker to note all transactions. Bitcoin explorer can provide  records of your financial activities. However, it doesn't provide sender and receiver name except Bitcoin address that you actually manage tho. As long as they are registered in your list, I think it is not really a big deal.
