Cryptopia - how to recover BTC?
by
AshCoins
on 09/07/2019, 14:46:54 UTC
I apologize if there are other threads on this but I either couldn’t find them or am not great at searching.

I’ve been out of Crypto for a while now after having an unhealthy obsession in the year before the big crash.  Finally starting to ease back in and realized I stupidly left half a BTC on Cryptopia.

I see that they were hacked out of a bunch of ether, but my BTC should still be intact right?   Anyone have any updates or know how I could try to request a transfer of my BTC?  I don’t care about any of my other shit tokens on there, just want my BTC.

I know this was a careless and stupid decision so no need to rehash that.  Thanks in advance for any assistance.

That’s a nice promo for lamden from an independent source.  I’m also a big fan of this project and planning to hold it long term.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see DENT on binance in the near future.  It’s a mature token with good volume and in the last binance vote, DENT got the most votes if you exclude the projects that scammed for votes by paying people to vote.

the Daostack ICO apparently sold out in 66 seconds. Daostack, which has been billed as the WordPress of the blockchain, is building a collective governance layer to help decentralised organizations make decisions effectively. The ICO raised $30 million during the pre-sale and main sale.

https://www.icoexaminer.com/ico-news/daostack-sells-out-in-seconds-as-ico-market-sees-early-may-rebound/

Now daostack is listed on idex

I managed to buy in.  I think this is a great and useful project and if it wasn’t such a shitty market right now it would already be 8-10x.

But even if it was done outside of an exchange, it will still affect supply and demand.  Those people that bought the 8000 btc aren’t going to have the same demand.

I agree, but you can say the same thing about a lot of other types of projects as well.  Why would we need a specific crypto to pay for freelance work, for luxury goods, for insurance, for dentists, etc.?   I anticipate these types of projects won't be around too much longer.

Personally, I think it will.  I don't know why coins even list on Hitbtc.  From what I've seen, prices are supported better when projects just stick to the dexes and small exchanges.

I wonder who the partnership will be with.  Knowing Neblio, it's going to be a real partnership and not some fake news to pump the price.

I forgot which coin it was but I was looking at one of the big Chinese projects the other day and they claimed Microsoft as a partner, but then when you look into it, they were just paying Microsoft for some subscription service.

I tried it when it first came out and found it really boring.  A total waste of ether.  I bred a bunch of cats and don’t even have my login anymore.

I was reading about this morning.  Hopefully ETH is determined not to be a security otherwise the impact could be very detrimental to the crypto markets.  If ETH is a security, it will mean many other coins will have to be as well.

https://tzlibre.github.io/project.html

Someone can review this project and say if its a SCAM ??
Or its safe and no way to lose tezzies ?
Thanks

I'm wondering the same.  The Tezos unofficial telegram is against the project, but I'd like to hear someone objectively explain if there is any risk to whitelisting my Tezos address for tzlibre

Re: Loom Network (loomx.io) - a hidden gem

Hi Guys
Checks Loom Network (loomx.io). It's a platform for building large scale dapps on Etherreum. Their initial blockchain based game Cryptozombies coming on April 20th and many games are in pipeline. Also partnerships with many game devs are in the works. They have built a Blockchain based  QA website called delegatecall.com using their SDK.

Looks like you were right.  It's gone about 8x since you posted.  Unfortunately I didn't discover this gem of a project until today and now at $400m mcap, I think it's way too late.

I know this project keeps on pumping but I am adding another red flag here.

Today they tweeted from their official account that they were going to be listed on Coinbase (the biggest exchange in the US which only lists BTC, ETH, LTC and BCH).

https://twitter.com/jayden_crypto/status/991759742388256768

They then quickly claimed that their twitter account was hacked.  This was similar to claiming there was a CNN documentary about them then saying it was cancelled last minute.

The supposed developers of a secure, decentralized and censorship resistant internet cannot even keep manage to keep their twitter account secure?

That's really shady.  I would be very interested to see how much the founders dumped after this tweet.  I'm guessing they made a small fortune on this alleged "hacking" of their Twitter.

I believe Neblio will provide the highest return of those platforms.  It's market cap is quite undervalued compared to it's peers that also have a working product.  It's very easy to use and create tokens and they just started marketing.

Personally, I'm pretty skeptical of the Chinese projects like Deep Brain and Nuls.  Maybe they'll deliver a product in the end, but they seem like major gambles to me.

I'm also a fan of Dragonchain and Lamden and think they're both undervalued.

Thanks for feedback, nebilo is a project I have not studied so far to be honest.

Nice that you mention lamden too, I just discussed in a German thread about that project, seems that no-one actually has it on its radar so far.
Its a long run to main net launch (q4), but sounds actually profitable. Moreover chance to risk is quite well I think.

Yeah Lamden is a lesser known project that is obviously more of a gamble since it doesn't have a final product but I like what I see there so far.  The team seems pretty transparent and provides a lot of updates. Also their mcap is under $30m, which is a fraction of some of the other platforms that also don't have a product.

Ouch.   In the long run, you'll be fine if you leave the remaining $50k in BTC.  If you want to take more risk and accelerate the process though you can look to alts.  There are lots of good ones out there, some of which have been named in this thread.  My personal favorite is Neblio and what I usually mention when people ask me for a general recommendation.

People always underestimate Sumo.  Probably because it has a goofy name and it hasn't been hyped to a bloated market cap.  If anyone actually looks into the tech they'll see why this is my favorite privacy coin though.

I totally get the OP.  I'm currently doing my last bounty campaign.  Without any real chance of being able to make it to Senior Member and many bounty campaigns now requiring 15 posts, it's just not worth the time.  Most of my crypto interactions are on Telegram now anyway.

Appcoins has trended nicely the last couple weeks with the market rebounding a bit.  Still off significantly from its ATH though.  With actual useful utility, I think this is one of the top tokens on page 2/3 of CMC.  I expect to see it back on page 1 soon.

Interesting thanks for posting.  To clarify one point for those that don't live in the US - University of Phoenix is not a real college with admissions.  It's an online school that is available to everyone.
