Re: [OS] nvOC easy-to-use Linux Nvidia Mining

Just made some changes to oneBash to test out if Lyra2v2 can be mined.  It works.

Code:
COIN="LYRA2V2"

Code:
LYRA2V2_WORKER="nvOC"
LYRA2V2_ADDRESS="bitcoin.wallet.address"
LYRA2V2_POOL="stratum+tcp://lyra2v2.mine.zpool.ca:4533"

Implementation section.

Code:
if [ $COIN == "LYRA2V2" ]
then
HCD='/home/m1/SPccminer/ccminer'
ADDR="$LYRA2V2_ADDRESS.$LYRA2V2_WORKER"

until $HCD -a lyra2v2 -o $LYRA2V2_POOL -u $ADDR -p x
   do
   echo "FAILURE; reinit in 5" >&2
   sleep 5
done
fi

  This is currently working with the SPccminer within the nvOC.  Although I hope to see CCminer2.0 implemented soon.  Or is there a way to insert our own miner software such as Alexis78?

I will add this "LYRA" config to the next version.

Alexis78 is on v0015; to use it instead of the SP fork, replace this line:

Code:
HCD='/home/m1/SPccminer/ccminer'

with:

Code:
HCD='/home/m1/ASccminer/ccminer'

to use the tpruvot fork change it to:

Code:
HCD='/home/m1/TPccminer/ccminer'

You can also add any client you want yourself.

If you send me a link to any desired client I will add it for the next version.

Also include what pool and coin you plan on mining with the client.

I appreciate your quick response.  I have tried to get the latest TP miner from git hub, and compile.  However I am getting errors, with regards to bignum.cpp and bignum.h.  If you would be so kind, please include the latest Alexis78 and TPminer in the next build, to use with Yiimp pool or Zpool.

many photos

box is 32 inches long

The writing with black marker says "US" or "USA".
The tape on the box with blue characters.  It's upside down.  The upper (longer row) says "Please inspect package content before signing for the package."
The lower row Chinese characters says "Thank you for your business."

Hey Phil.  I will help you out.  In the first desktop picture.  There are icons with Chinese characters.  From the upper left corner.  To the right one column, 1st row.  The text file is "Mining Process Instruction step.txt".  Not a literal translation, but the closest translation.

1st column, row 4, Zcash plus a bunch of Chinese character.  It means "Zcash shortcut".
1st column, row 6.  "Cpu-Z 1.9 shortcut".
1st column, row 7. "360 extreme speed viewer" or "browser".  I've never seen that before.

Windows test mode allows unsigned drivers to be run and installed, and bypasses quite a bit of driver digital signature validation.

The team viewer on second column, row 7, allows remote desktop viewing.  May have the "share screen" function.  Don't know what version it is.  It's a collaboration tool.

rockxie,

Here is a new idea for you.  Take two hashing blades from ASICminer's Prisma (the x48 blades have lower power consumption) and make that into something that looks like Antminer S3.  Same black color and metal as New R-Box.  Leave room in there for Raspberry Pi or Cubie.

Price it good like the Prisma and you can take over Antminer S3 and Spoondoolie's market.

You mean just like the Rockminer R3?

Same form as R3, with new R-Box type enclosure.  Not  1W/G.  But 0.76W/G.

L1?

How about S4 by next Tuesday.

Dear Mister BitMan,

We need to know when to expect the S4  Huh

Absent news it's time to buy SP31s.

Dear Miasma,

We are waiting for testing results of the S4 sample machine. Hopefully there will be good news before next Tuesday.

Amazon is the same.  I think amazon is even worse than eBay.  Happened to me when I sold one used s3.  Buyer claimed machine broken. And then Buyer shipped 14 lbs of garbage back to me and won the claim.  Bunch of scum bags.

Observation.
In one of the Batch 4 machines I got, there is a machine with a July 28 firmware date within the Kernel Log.

Anyone noticed that?  Is that an experimental firmware?

The cooling fans report constant 7000-9000 RPM range.  That doesn't look normal.  Recommendations?

I want to report in on my findings, running a pair of S3.
One gets consistent 430GH over 1 day, 6 hours.  Default clock speed
The other one gets consistent 410 GH over 1 day, 6 hours.  Default clock speed

I've rebooted the slower one several times, and all chips show OK status.  They are on independent power supplies.  Only one miner per 700W power supply.

Only upside is temperature is consistently below 40.

did you try to ssh into it and change to 212.5 (as philipma did)?
(comment on 218.75 with # and uncomment 212.5)

Good tip.  I will try that.

I also notice there is a lot of discarded shares.  And 225 and 218.75 frequencies all have the same time out values.  I wonder if setting lower time out values with higher frequencies will help reducing discarded shares.

Anyone tried that yet?

Original plan was to get RX box and joint the ROI 60 project.  When I found out there would be no RX box and would be getting many more RK box instead, I PMed Rockxie on the forum for refund.

Rockminer Alex gave me the full refund within a day.  Good customer service.   Thumbs up.

@Rockxie

Since RX-Box is delayed indefinitely, what is going to happen with the ROI 60 customers?

I fully support Roxie with his 60 day ROI philosophy.  Great to see a miner manufacturer willing to take steps to decentralize the mining industry.

Just took possession of a new Bitmain S2. Capacitors are installed on the blades and the physical design has been modified to include a card hold down front and back. Also has a cutout in the side for the PSU intake. Everything arrived intact with no loose boards or other problems. I am working on setting it up now. Ethernet isn't being cooperative … checking cables etc.

I love the Antminer logo and Bitmain name embossed on the cover Smiley Unboxing photos to follow once its running.

[edit]
I'm in (ssh) … loose ethernet cable from the controller to the front panel. I seated both ends with a little push and everything is now good.
Can't wait for the rest of 'em to arrive.

[edit]
A few minutes later - hashing at 1032.12 Ghs, all ASICS reported good.

Such a pleasure doing business with a company that does what it says it is going to do when it says it is going to do it AND delivers great products from stock. Thank you BITMAIN.

Is the PSU inside still the Enermax 1000 W?

Thanks.

Juan,

I was reading on the other S2 thread.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=515448.2700
The newer S2 units have extra capacitors on the blades to help stabilize voltage.  See Bitmain's instruction here. https://www.bitmaintech.com/files/download/Guideline%20of%20Soldering%20Capacitor%20to%20S2.pdf

So do the units in the group buy have the following:
1) Extra capacitors solder on the PCBs?
2) Improved retention clips for the blades so the blades stay secure within the case during shipping?
3) Fixed SD card corruption problems that leads down time?

Thanks.

It's a step down from the old USB sticks.  In the old USB sticks, you just need a USB port with sufficient power.  Now one has to find USB cable plus power supply cable for this to work, plus needing a host computer.
