Once we are all long gone in 200 years. It will definitely become digital gold. It will always have a value. Over time it will increase in value because it will become the most lucrative crypto.

Donald Trump FULL Speech in Iowa Campaign Rally - July 25, 2015

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gdRv5q1iww

I thought he was a breath of fresh air early early on in the campaign. Boy I was wrong. But I think overall his appearance will have positive effects moving into the future. Its important for people to see the real face of the political system instead of smiling obamas and Clintons who are not much better whatsoever

Re: Blockchain has grabbed the attention of investors
by
Austin Alexis
on 09/05/2018, 07:48:51 UTC
"Even in its early stages, blockchain is acquiring such renown for potential that any business associating itself with the term can attract new investment overnight, prompting some to use "the B word" so casually that they've also attracted attention from regulators."

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/04/02/blockchain-has-grabbed-the-attention-of-investors.html

I think it's really great to see so many people seeing blockchain in a positive light and wanting to invest in them. Blockchain is truly the future I think.

Thoughts?

I think its very dangerous to isolate blockchain from cryptocurrency. What will secure the blockchain without cryptocurrency. The value of bitcoin is not in its individual parts, its the sum of its parts brought together that had been revolutionising.

Re: Bill Gates: I would put against bitcoin
by
Austin Alexis
on 08/05/2018, 22:02:32 UTC
American businessman Bill Gates again spoke out against the first crypto currency: in the Squawk Box program on CNBC, the co-founder of Microsoft called bitcoin one of the most speculative things in the world. This slightly tilted the course of the coin on Monday, May 7, but today it is still in the green zone.

"I would oppose bitcoin if there was an easy way to do this," said Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft Corporation in CNBC's Squawk Box, on Monday, May 7.

"As an asset class, you do not produce anything, and so you should not expect it to rise, it's a kind of pure investment" stupid theory, "Gates said in the CNBC program" Squawk Box. "

"Bitcoin and ICO, I believe, I believe, these are some of the crazy, speculative things," Gates said. He added that someone once gave him bitcoins for his birthday, but he sold it in a few years.

According to Gates, there is no need to count on the growth of bitcoin's value: "from the point of view of the asset class, you do not produce anything." The largest shareholder of Microsoft considers investing in this cryptonet "the theory of a bigger fool in its pure form."

She claims that money can be made by acquiring securities without regard for their quality and selling them at a profit, because there will always be a "bigger fool." Proceeding from the theory, speculative bubbles grow in this way, which burst with time and bring down the value of shares in a mass sale.

Note that earlier Gates accused the BTC of the death of people, pointing out that the coin is often used to buy drugs. In November 2014, the businessman called bitcoin "a revolutionary technology and the most innovative solution in the modern Internet payment market."

Like many critics of crypto currency, Gates acknowledged that the basic technology of blockchain has its advantages. Blocking eliminates the need for a third-party intermediary, such as a bank, to quickly create a secure, permanent report on the transaction between the two parties. Bitcoin is the first application of blocking technology, and companies are exploring ways to use technology to manage supply chains, trade and other areas.

I think he's being peer pressured by warren buffet. I have actually heard him speak positively of crypto a few months ago. I wonder what has changed

Re: WHat’s the issue with binance days ago???
by

on 08/05/2018, 22:00:40 UTC
Hello,

I read everything regarding binance issue days ago.

It’s was hack or phishing issue ?

If it was phishing, how come user got caught, as binance need google Authenticator ?

Thanks for the lights

Ye it was a phishing scam that gained access to their api to drive up the price of a coin which the hackers had a large stake in. Pretty cunning and clever if we are all honest

Bitcoin dominance chart misleading?
by
Austin Alexis
on 08/05/2018, 08:53:55 UTC
Is the bitcoin dominance chart even a good indicator for the overall strength of bitcoin? The reason I ask is because technically over the last couple weeks since people believed it was the return of "alt-season" bitcoins dominance has dropped but if you look at where this money has flowed to its into coins that have came from absolutely nowhere to rise into the top 150 on coin market cap amassing huge market caps!

Bitcoin Gold - 1.2 billion
Bitcoin Diamond - 800 million
WaykiChain - 400million

Just to name a few. CMcap is littered with these types of projects at the moment. So is the bitcoin dominance chart just an indicator as to how speculative the market is currently and not the strength of bitcoin? This is what im beginning to think.

Re: what affects the price?
by
Austin Alexis
on 07/05/2018, 12:27:06 UTC
bitcoin slowly went down this year, from almost 20k USD last December and went down at a significant price

what might be the reason why bitcoin's price is going down?
what are the major things that can greatly influence bitcoin?
answers would be fully appreciated Smiley

1) Skills investors taking profits
2) Change in market sentiment
3) Regulatory uncertainty
4) Countries banning exchanges
5) Speculators buying at the top without really understanding the technology
6) Transaction speeds
7) Transaction prices
Cool The worlds economy

there are probably more.

Re: How to manage the risk in investing cryptocurrency?
by
Austin Alexis
on 07/05/2018, 12:19:10 UTC
The risk in the virtual currency market is the risk of losing some or all of its capital when the investor performs the investment or virtual currency transaction. Identify the risks before conducting a transaction, helping them to know the specific loss rate in each case of investment will be how to, minimum and maximum how to decide the scale of investment, the first time investment, time of investment completion, and other relevant factors.

Its very stereotypical but have a diversified portfolio. This works to an extent. Only issue is that in crypto its extremely hard to find alpha's (uncorrelated assets) as the majority of projects are vastly effected by the price movements of bitcoin. I would say try to learn how trading principles and when the price drops sell and buy back in lower.

Re: Fiat Currency Always Fails
by
Austin Alexis
on 02/05/2018, 11:10:37 UTC
See:

There Is No Escaping History.  Fiat Currency Eventually Fails.

Notice that this is a critique of fiat money -- not a critique of state-issued money under a gold/silver or other standard.  Fiat money is a rare occurrence in modern history.  (We live in strange times!)  As we can see, the examples found by the author are a small number of short periods here and there.

I have my own critique of gold/silver standards, but that's another issue.

I think as soon as we went off the gold standard in the 1970s the system was doomed to fail. This experiment will inevitably fail. Printing off money through quantitative easing is a short term fix to a long term problem!

to be honest I don't really think that would be a good idea. Sounds mighty Orwellian to me. Even if the only currency was bitcoin! Its a myth that BTC is completely anonymous! if you are not forensic in your interactions with your wallets you can almost certainly be traced!

Re: Is the Lightning Network centralized?
by
Austin Alexis
on 28/04/2018, 21:52:16 UTC
Some say that the Lightning Network is centralized, but from my point of view, it's still a decentralized solution to scale Bitcoin as anyone would be able to run a Lightning node at will. The huge advantages that it provides for Bitcoin such as dirt-cheap fees, and instant transactions would be too hard to ignore to implement in the future.

However, if the Lightning Network turns out to become a centralized solution for Bitcoin (like many claims it will), then it would be doomed as only those with a lot of wealth and power would be able to participate in this ecosystem.

What are your thoughts about this? Is Lightning really centralized? Or Decentralized? Huh

You could maybe argue that some decentralisation may have been sacrificed in order to scale but I think it still maintains enough decentralisation to remain relevant and survive. As a second layer solution I think it is the best we can come up with at the moment and I can see a future where you will need as little as a smart phone to run a lightning node, in a few years of course so over time it will become allot more decentralised. Like any protocol I suppose

Re: What stage of adoption is Crypto currently at?
by
Austin Alexis
on 28/04/2018, 21:48:56 UTC
I think we are in the Growth stage, as more and more people are hearing about Crypto, but there still is a big gap in the involving decision. For instance, a lot of people hear about it, talk about it, but until they understand it there is a long way to go.

I think we are still very very early. We still have no cohesive regulation so the rules of the game haven't been outlined yet. There are no real industry leaders apart from btc and maybe eth. I don't think any killer apps have been developed yet either, nothing close to the overall potential of crypto anyway

That is a good question. Especially given AES256 is more secure (advanced encryption standards) I think its probably a case that sha is still good enough to do the job

I have found that not forcing it upon people is by far the best strategy. Ive done the biting off of family ears around the dinner table and in my case they just think im obsessed. When I stopped trying to spread the gospel so to speak that was when people started coming to me wondering what it was I was so interested in!

Re: Are all cryptocurrencies destined to be store of value in the end?
by

I think the majority of all cryptos will disappear over the next 5 years. What we will be left with I think is a store of value coin, an anonymous currency and a non anonymous currency coin and a smart contract token. The rest will fall to the wayside
