Very neat. Did you at any point consider solo mining with your farm? or perhaps profit-switching to different algorithms to maximise your revenue?

Bitcoin Core Abandoned low fee tx - still cant use the funds
by

So I sent a tx with a fee 10% of what it should have been  - https://i.imgur.com/CLypjqB.png  - you can see the mempool has ballooned in the last 12 hours.

I used the right click Abandon transaction option in Bitcoin Core and the funds were ''available'' again in my balance.

But now I cannot send anything as nothing is being accepted onto the chain (the tx IDs dont appear in public blockchain explorers at all) and when I use another service to send the raw transactions I get txn-mempool-conflict error.

What can I do to use these funds again? I thought abandoning the transaction would make it spendable again?

- I tried to Sweep the keys to a fresh wallet but it is sweeping everything but the stuck balance
- Can't use bumpfee as not BIP 125
- Pruned node so also cant use zapwallettxes

I tried to do a double spend in Bitcoin Core by selecting 'Inputs...' and ticking all the transactions there, made sure I was sending exactly the same amount again and put a larger fee but it would not be accepted (not appearing on any public blockchain explorers). I had to tick all the Inputs as the stuck transaction actually almost drained my wallet. So in order to have the balance to send it again I need to tick all Inputs.

Thanks

Re: Melted the PSU cable and riser adaptor...

My colleagues have been running Rx 580 Sapphire with 2 PSU-s x 750 watt each Modular from the Cooler Master brand. They all have connected the risers with Sata cables and they have been running from about 2 months and a half without problems.

They are using risers version 009s which I recommend you do also.

That's similar to what I had, two PSUs with a Y adaptor to the motherboard. Then RX580s on risers with Sata adaptors.
I too thought 'everything was fine' and ran 4 months almost continuously with minimal problems. I thought I wouldn't have issues but then here I am with the costs of replacing the PSU and a riser and the fact the rig did - in essence - fume while unattended.

I bet if your colleagues touch the left hand side of the plastic sata adaptor it will be very hot, not a good sign.

Thanks all for helpful comments.
About to order this one and run PCIE that come with the PSU directly to the riser board. I think 8pin in the RX580 and a 6 pin into the riser board.

Any other PSU recommendations or this one looks good?

Melted the PSU cable and riser adaptor...
by
AvPro
on 14/04/2018, 03:09:39 UTC
Hi,

I have a 4 GPU Ethereum rig which i've been running for a year and replaced the PSU risers about 4 months ago.
I use the SATA to 6 PIN PCIE and VER 006C riser boards. I had replaced them from Molex to 6 pin 4 months ago.

I noticed one of my cards kept shutting down and the rig needed rebooted about weekly, thought it was just that GPU getting old. Until a couple days ago when it failed to run.

Now I see the problem... the PSU cable at the SATA adaptor has melted, so much so there is now bare copper visible in the PSU cable and the
plastic housing at the connection of SATA to PSU is deformed and the gold connector plates in the adaptor also fried. Yikes..

So that's the PSU dead and that riser adaptor also dead. Frustratingly expensive now to replace the whole PSU because it is not modular and
with bare copper visible on one of the PSU leads I won't be turning it back on. The only good thing here is that the rig shut itself down when it
fried the connection. GPU is also still working.

What are people using these days for riser power? I thought the SATA to 6 pin was the safe option of Molex but actually I had no trouble with
molex before.

Alternatively I could get a big power supply which had 8+ 6 Pin PCIE connectors and plug the PSU direct to riser board without SATA adaptor. So the RX580 would have power from the PSU and the VER 006C also have power direct from PSU.

PSU recommendations (for 4 x RX580 ) and enough PCIE cables ?

Thanks,

What sort of negative delta do you usually get?

Thanks

I've never really checked. I'll let you know after I put in some more orders.

Thanks, because for me it was about -15% between what paying for and what recognized at the pool -  which too much delta Sad

I just powered a SAPPHIRE RX580 PULSE 8GB and everything is blank in any overclocking utility I have...

Any ideas how to fix this?

Does the SAPPHIRE Pulse RX 580 8GB have Samsung memory?

Would love to know that too, otherwise I am about to pick up some gigabyte xtr aorus - they have samsung on it.
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125961 I bought 5 of these @$229 and they are pretty good.

In my country there is a good swing in price between 4GB and 8GB of these - is the 4GB a major step down from 8GB in hash, or it more resale/future proofing?

Lips sealed Ah, just placed my order for the 580 .... got it at identical price to 480

From what ive seen on YouTube (Russian videos) the 580 Pulse was up at 29/30mh/s with no mention of a custom bios
To get most out of the card would probably need someone to share a custom bios - not sure about bricking it because it has dual bios I think

AMD RX 480 - which spec?
by

I'm upgrading my mining cards and swapping out from nvidia to AMD. I'm familiar with NVIDIA branding of performance on the cards e.g Ti , Founders Editions etc

What variant of AMD RX 480 would you recommend?
Really much difference in 4GB or 8GB?
Running the 480 on x4 PCI going to cause a performance issue? it hasn't with my NVIDIA cards.

I'm looking at getting a few of these and I heard 27-30mhash for Eth is what to expect

Or
