Ahhh, then I shall wait for the "looming bitcoin crash" to exploit the exploited and purchase their btc for subterranean prices.  I imagine I am not the only scavenger ready to clean the bones of the fallen.

Is there a way to see which accounts have the most bitcoins?

I know we can't see who owns them.

I managed to mine with Phoenix 2 on this GPU.
Try that.

Okay I will try Phoenix 2.  What version?  And what MH/s rate were you getting?

Bah, I tried the latest Catalyst drivers and 2.5 sdk install and it still craps out on me immediately.  Here is my cgminer.conf file.  I am calling it from a command line by navigating to the directory containing cgminer and then entering cgminer -c cgminer.conf

Code:

Okay right now I'm downloading AMD Catalyst 13.1 and I will install the AMD-APP-SDK-v2.5-Windows-641 drivers and see what happens.

cgminer 2.10.0 + Radeon HD 4550

I think I may have already read somewhere that the 4000 series isn't supported by cgminer anymore, I know it has weak ass hash rate, but given that I have one in the systems I'm CPU mining in, I'd like to at least get a few MH out of it if possible.  Anyone know if cgminer will work with a Radeon HD 4550?  I haven't been able to get it to run.  I'm running 2.5 SDK but when I run cgminer the program immediately quits and Windows 7 x64 gives me the generic windows error that the program has stopped working.

Using --verbose doesn't help it crashes before it starts logging.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Alright dropped the later SDK and installed the 2.5 version.  Went into the cgminer's bitstreams folder and moved all .bin files into a old bin folder.  Just a buncha .bit files left.  Running command line with your recommended options and we're pushing 202Mh/s.  You're the man.

I'm tweaking my HD6870 now.

Thanks bro!

Yeah I'm getting about 179MH/s using

What are the best settings to maximize the Mh/s on HIS Radeon HD 6790 running cgminer 2.10.0.  Right now it is about 66 degrees Celsius.  I'm letting it auto-tune.

When Mining finishes, there will be a finite number of BTC yes?  At that point, how will people earn bitcoins based on transactins?

Looking for a mBTC (or BTC) transaction to determine the validity of BTC.  How do the transaction fees work.  Once all coins are mined, how will a 3rd party be able to make BTC by hosting or bridging transactions.  What will be the cost of the 3rd party?  Bandwidth, electricity, nonavailability?
