Stay away from Bcash.

Owned by Roger Ver (well-know scammer) and his allies.

First of all you need the ThomasV key.

Execute the command line on terminal:
Code:
gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv 6694D8DE7BE8EE5631BED9502BD5824B7F9470E6
Go to Electrum website and download Electrum-3.1.3.tar.gz and its signature Electrum-3.1.3.tar.gz.asc

Copy both files to the same folder, open the terminal and use command 'cd' to navigate to that folder and run the command line:
Code:
gpg --verify Electrum-3.1.3.tar.gz.asc Electrum-3.1.3.tar.gz
If the message returned says Good signature and that it was signed by ThomasV with a pubkey 7F9470E6, then the software is authentic.

yes definitely
Do you have the seed?

Just use the same seed.

If you want more security, remove your real bitcoins to another place before put your seed in another application (electroncash).

Re: Electrum won't connect, lots of money not appearing

You can't lose your money if you still have your seed.

This statement is (1) unnecessary and (2) wrong.

There are a lot of ways to lose money (BTC) while still having your seed.
Especially since OP mentioned he is using v2.7.9 of electrum (which does have a vulnerability).

If an attacker is able to get access to your seed (which is possible under some circumstances with the old vulnerability) he can easily transfer all the BTC's out.
You will be left with a seed containing 0 balance.

Safe and secure do not mean the same!

Keeping a backup of your seed = safe.
Being protected against an attack = secure.

I was talking about "Wallet not connected" issues.

Remember the context.

Blockchain.info don't understand bech32(bc1) address.

You should change to a better block explorer such as https://www.oxt.me/

Try this and come back here.

btw, taxation is theft

OK so I did a real moronic mistake.  I was apparently in a rush or so.  I dont remember what I did with the passphrase for my wallet.  I have been able to gain access to a file and was able to open it.  It has all of my sending and receiving addresses, seed, type of wallet, xprv and xpub.  Its not going on 2 months and I would really like to be able to gain access to this.  Im not a NOOB with anything.  I got BTC-Recover and I have been watching the videos as well as still researching everything.  Does ANYONE at all KNOW how to do this?  It isnt really a lot of money.  I just dont want to lose a small $100 bucks
If you have your seed you are okey.

Don't use BCash thinking it's Bitcoin.

Most people won't accept Bcash.
