2. Is it safe to run a node in my computer? Will it damage my content in my computer or will my computer be attacked ?

While you said in your website, that you will not be responsible for any risk. Even you can't evaluate the risk, how about us?

Think of it as running a TOR exit node. Depending on where you live and who you are (individual or organization), you might be made responsible of the traffic you relay or not.

https://www.law.washington.edu/clinics/technology/reports/torexitnodes.pdf

https://www.torproject.org/eff/tor-legal-faq.html.en

The US recently brought in new laws that make simply accessing a site through tior dangerous. They didn't make tor completely illegal, but they made it risky to use.

This project is almost dead like most in the cryptosphere. It would be better to accept this early and convert back to and hold bitcoins. Here is a little advice if you want to profit from these tokens like Stellar and Ripple. Just wait for the exit scam. Some will not have one but most will. It is the name of the game in crypto.

What I hated about stellar was it promised to give away coins to Bitcoin holders who held at a particular block. When the giveaway finally materialized they wanted heavy proof of identity before they would give anyone any free coins, and they kept the coins of anyone who declined for themselves. Their promise of free coins for Bitcoin holders seemed scammy because it never mentioned the heavy proof of identity that would be required. They used the promise of that giveaway to justify holding a massive premine, then made sure few people would claim by introducing that rule that puts any claimants in danger of identity theft.

I see your point-  what I was trying to say was that, Seller is a kind of... social way to make consensus, based on trusted nodes, not just raw hashing power- you know?

Anyway I probably didn't express it clearly, I'm still trying to get the hang of writing these sort of informal articles.

I haven't been keeping tabs on stellar lately, but I'm sure there was a time when it only had one trusted node running the whole network because of a bug. It was totally centralized at that time, it had no consensus between nodes.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/stellar-switches-to-centralized-system-after-node-issue-causes-accidental-fork

How many nodes are running the new consensus protocol today?

How many times changing first was zcash and now is zcash dark?

Sorry, I don't understand the question. Can you elaborate? Smiley

He's probably referring to ZCashDarkCoin that was released on October 31. It's a bog standard scrypt coin by a newbie dev. In a few weeks it will have been pumped, dumped and abandoned.

Any new popular coin will get other coins trying to make money by using a similar name, and it's the same for ZCash.

how many average Chinese whales care in the slightest who Hillary Clinton is or what she does or doesn't like?

the price dropped because there were more sellers than buyers at the original price. that's all the explanation anyone needs.

It's only down by $10, it's got to go down further than that before it starts testing the support levels that were resistance levels less than two weeks ago. This is a small correction from the price rises over the last month. In late September it was still below $600.

I haven't heard anything from either one of the candidates about Bitcoin.

WikiLeaks posted some hacked emails from the Clinton campaign that say the Clinton’s are being advised by Stan Stalnaker (a Ven promoter) that Bitcoin is not as good as Ven.

The US government can't be too harsh on Bitcoin since it auctioned the Silk Road coins, it's too late for the Clinton’s opinion of Bitcoin to make it do a policy U-turn.

Newly leaked Clinton correspondence from WikiLeaks shows that her campaign saw the benefits of cryptocurrency but had antipathy towards Bitcoin.

snip

The Ven promoter (Stan Stalnaker) wanted Clinton’s campaign to use Ven to enable single click micro-payments and other fundraising activities for the campaign. “As we discussed, Bitcoin is being used on the Republican side and could be a useful tool, but we think Ven is a better choice for your campaign due to its environmental benefits, identity metrics and closed loop status.”

The OP needs updating, it only shows Zcoin is on Novaexchange and Cryptopia, but it's also on Liqui, Trade Satoshi, and CoinExchange. Those are smaller exchanges but it's still worth putting them in the OP to let people know they can buy zerocoins there.

I just hope the gpu miner will be made public opensource, otherwise there will be a massive pre-mine that could last for weeks. 20% over 4 years will be in the original investors hand already, centralizing it even more will destroy the reputation of the coin.

I can think of a few coins destroyed by a closed source gpu miner used at launch. Only one person with the gpu miner could mine the coin, and although each dev denied it was him nobody believed it. Who else could get the gpu miner coded instantly after the first block?

Does Qora have a web wallet like blockchain.info or mynxt.info? Is one being planned?

There is a simple web wallet already in existence, a more advanced one will be built soon.

http://qora.tech:9090/webwallet is up, but this is just the start of what will be to come.

I think there is code for another one at this link.

https://github.com/agran/QoraLightWallet

One of the old devs had something running, but it might have gone offline at the same time his old site went down. If you make an html file out of the code in payment.html on that Github, then open it in your browser it shows an online wallet interface.

The old qora.co.in website used to have a list of known stable peers that had been online for at least a week. You could add them to your wallet to help it sync. Putting a new list of peers on the new website would help the community.

http://qora.tech:9090 is up for a portal to QORA internet.

I'll likely add extra sites to this that will have all necessary information. Hopefully this new blockex being up will help polo.

Thanks for putting that site online. The new block explorer built into the wallet looks fantastic. The link to it should soon convince Poloniex to open withdrawals again.

Any updates on the dev?

Iam sure we will see some significant announcement during the next 48hours.

The dev team is working hard right now on quite a few areas, including a fully decentralized exchange.

*snip*

the devs have showed me before, but they're off right now, and I wanted to have this new CF campaign started by the time we have our meeting on Tuesday.

It's good to hear of all the work going into Qora.

Which devs from the dev team will you be having a meeting with on Tuesday? Do you mean next Tuesday (tomorrow)?

Are we likely to see a significant announcement after the meeting like randombit said?

6 days.

Every day people delay buying after that they will miss out on some free Ardor coins for the Nxt in their wallet. Those who don't buy some Nxt will be complaining they missed out on the free coins when Ardor coins are released onto the market.

9 days to snapshots.

There will be masses of last minute buyers in 9 days when the snapshots start.

The traders saying is buy the dips, and this is the lowest dip NXT will have before the snapshots start.

Indeed it started rising. So will there be news?

The 24 hour volume on poloniex is 206 Bitcoins. There must be some news that started people buying but I can't find any. The last posts of the Qora devs and the burst dev don't mention any news. CIYAM was explaining the Qora AT system in the technical section, but that's all I could find.

Listen... I've always been interested in this project.  That being said, if there was a purpose for this, then I'd be willing to spend a little time on this again.  But we need to be realists.  There are so many coins out there that are doing now what KDC did when it peaked.  Without a purpose, this is just another coin lost in time.  Find a purpose, and we'll come up with a plan.  Hell, maybe I can dig up my original plans for the revamp, and we can take another look at it.

-Fuse

Don't most coins have absolutely no purpose right now? I think this one at least has age going for it and a bit of nostalgia since I'm sure like me, many that started mining back in 2013-14 mined this coin for a while.

I'm still trying to see if I can recover my coins from bter, been processing for weeks and nothing

Did you ever get your coins out of bter? I have coins on bter and the same problem as you, my withdrawal's been "processing" for weeks.

This is a long thread guys, forgive me for not reading, but I think others are in my boat:

A. Is there an expected date/timeframe for MTGox bag-holders to see their reimbursement?

The support area at the Kraken answers that question, which must be one everyone is asking about. If you keep checking the support area it will probably be one of the first places to give a date.

Morning gentlemen!
What a great day so far!
Woke up, checked the charts, and see we are up ~$12. Smiley
Hope to see $440 within the next few hours.Even if it would be just for a short moment.

You got your wish, it went above $440. I want to see it break above this year's $460 high, but I'm not sure when that will happen. If I make a guess it's usually wrong, so I'm just hodling and waiting.

dev has gone,Qora is close to dead now.

That's not true, there is a new dev called ca333 who has recently joined the multiple dev team. Also vbcs and CIYAM are part of the dev team. What's more skerberus has been a long term member of the dev team and still is. Agran is leaving the dev team after version 0.26 is released, but ca333 joining makes up for that loss.

Hi, everyone!  I have the following announcements to make:

1. ca333, the security expert from Switzerland, will join Qora dev team as a security consultant/core contributor. He had provided code contributions and performed security audits for Qora in the past.  After joining the dev team, he will support Qora development by providing critical security analysis/bug fixes and much needed consultation.

He has my full support and trust, and I have full confidence in his expertise and ability to provide critical analysis.  To get an idea of what kind of work ca333 had been doing in the past, feel free to check out his BTT profile.

2. vbcs and CIYAM will continue to be a part of our Qora dev team.  Everything is cool. Please relax.  Smiley

So, everyone, let's get back on track and continue with the development!  Wink  Skerberus is currently working on bug fixes in 0.26.  I'll let him make an announcement when it's ready for release.  Smiley
